<P>This paper is concerned with selection and design of an antenna element of a phased array antenna for 20 GHz communications satellite. For this purpose, a new type of dual-mode horn with inner choke ring at the excitation region is proposed. A microstrip-fed cavity-backed circularly polarized horn antenna

<P>A 20 GHz 2 × 2 subarray radiator of microstrip-fed cavity-backed circularly polarized horn is presented. Since horn antennas incorporating waveguide types of circular polarizers have big size of radiator height, microstrip feeding and polarization is proposed and cavity-backed introduced to improve radiation performance. Shading Effect of Different Colored Polyethylene net on Seeding Growth of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer

This study was carried out to investigate spectral irradiance characteristics of blue, yellow, and blue-black colored polyethylene (PE) shading net and the effect on growth characteristics and yield in ginseng seedling. The spectral irradiance (μmol/m2/s/nm) showed the peak at 498 nm in both of blue and blue-black PE shading net, and 606 nm under yellow PE one. The intensity of blue light in blue shading was more strong than that of blue-black shading, control. Blue shading was increased by 17% and 23% in accumulated quantum for daytime, 0.5℃ and 0.2℃ in maximum temperature on June 2 than that of yellow and blue-black shading, respectively, but heat injury ratio of the former was lower than that of the latter. Chlorophyll content and stem length in blue shading were decreased more significantly than those of yellow and blue-black shading. The specific leaf weight was higher under blue and yellow shading than that of blue-black shading. Ginseng seedling harvested in blue shading was increased by 13~17% in the number of root, and 17~20% in root weight per m 2 compared to yellow and blue-black shading owing to the increase of survived plant, and the decrease of specific leaf weight, heat injury ratio, and stem length.

A Low Power Design of H.264 Codec Based on Hardware and Software Co-design

In this paper, we present a low-power design of H.264 codec based on dedicated hardware and software solution on EMP(ETRI Multi-core platform). The dedicated hardware scheme has reducing computation using motion estimation skip and reducing memory access for motion estimation. The design reduces data transfer load to 66% compared to conventional method. The gate count of H.264 encoder and the performance is about 455k and 43Mhz@30fps with D1(720x480) for H.264 encoder. The software solution is with ASIP(Application Specific Instruction Processor) that it is SIMD(Single Instruction Multiple Data), Dual Issue VLIW(Very Long Instruction Word) core, specified register file for SIMD, internal memory and data memory access for memory controller, 6 step pipeline, and 32 bits bus width. Performance and gate count is 400MHz@30fps with CIF(Common Intermediated format) and about 100k per core for H.264 decoder.
고령에서 발생한 제1 요추의 호산구 육아종 : 1례 보고 1 Case Report

호산구 육아종은 청소년기에 특징적으로 발생사는 양성 종양이다. Histiocytosis의 아분류로 취급 되다가 조직학적 소견이 동일하여 현재는 Langerhans 세포 조직구증으로 불려진다. 골겨계 어디나 침범하지만 두개골에 가장 호발하며, 척추 병소는 10~15%정도이다. Birbeck granules를 세포질내 함유한 Langerhans 세포가 특징적이고 조직구 및 호산구의 증식을 보인다. 저자들은 고령에서 발생한 요추의 호산구 육아종 1예을 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Eosinophillic granuloma of bone is a self-limited ondition, characteristically a disease of children and young adults. It is the nost benign variant of histiocytosis X. It is most common in skull, but any bone may be affected. Vertebral involvement occurs in about 10 to 15%. This benign bone destructive lesion is characterized by the presence of Langerhans cells contain Birbeck granules, infilitration of histiocytes and eosinophilic leukocytes unknown origin. We report a eosinophilic ggranuloma in lumbar spine of old patient.
