While there is a demand for energy harvesting in environments with water, such as rivers, lakes seas, it has been difficult to use energy harvesting, especially piezoelectricity, because of the waterproof problem and the low output scale. Here, we report a propeller-based underwater piezoelectric energy harvester consisting of a propeller, hitting sticks and a piezoelectric module. The hitting sticks spin with a rotating axis connected to a propeller rotated by water flow and hit a piezoelectric cantilever beam. Unlike previous tip mass method, a newly applied technique makes it possible to match a frequency by easily controlling the bending length of a piezoelectric module using an acrylic plate to find the maximum output power. For reliability, we performed an experiment at 1.2 m/s, which is the actual water flow rate of the Han River in South Korea, and a frequency of 24.5 Hz occurred with four hitting sticks. The frequency-matched bending length was 80 mm (acrylic plate length: 10 mm). Then, impedance matching was carried out: At a resistance of 10.8 kΩ, an output power of 17 mWrms and a power density of 57.4 mW/cm^3 were obtained. This result is one of the highest results in a field of similar piezoelectric energy harvesting devices considering challenging conditions that occur in real environments. Finally, the system was applied to an LED light system, one of applications under water, and succeeded in operating a total of 972 LEDs with only one piezoelectric device. This research proves the potential and the feasibility of applying a piezoelectric energy harvesting system to a real underwater environment.

Traditional international trade theory assumes that import goods and domestically produced goods of the same industry are equal in quality. However the substitutability of the two goods is imperfect. This article estimated the import functions of pulp and paper using econometric and vector autoregressive models, and calculated the elasticities of substitution between imported and domestically produced pulp and paper. The import of pulp is inelastic to import price and domestic price, and elastic to national income in econometric model. And it is inelastic to import price, domestic price and national income in vector autoregressive model. On the other hand, the import of paper is inelastic to domestic price, and elastic to import price and national income in econometric model. And it is inelastic to import price and domestic price, and elastic to national income in vector autoregressive model. The elasticity of substitution between imported and domestically produced pulp was positive, and the elasticity was respectively 0.42 and 0.20 in econometric and vector autoregressive models. This may be because of the high proportion of imports. On the other hand, the elasticity of substitution between imported and domestically produced paper was positive, and the elasticity was respectively 0.75 and 0.81 in econometric and vector autoregressive models. This may be because the quality of imported paper is different from that of domestically produced paper.

In this work, an intuitive yet effective points grouping method is proposed for 3D LiDAR objects segmentation. Particularly, the proposed method consists of two main steps: i) the preprocessing step, in which noise points such as ground clusters are filtered out by the proposed cone-shape filtering, and ii) the grouping step, in which sets of 3D LiDAR points are defined as candidate object groups based on the proposed distance variation analysis technique. Our preliminary experimental study reveals that the proposed method can distinguish object groups effectively.

본 연구는 와상환자에게 자주 발생하는 낙상, 욕창, 불면증을 영상기술을 통해 인식하여 섬망의 조기진단모형을 구현한다. 실시간 모니터링을 통해 섬망 잠재환자를 선별하고 집중적인 관리와 치료로 이어질 수 있도록 간호인력을 보조하는 데 주된 목적을 두고 있다. 과활동형 섬망은 파생위험 중 하나인 낙상과, 저활동형 섬망은 원인 요소인 욕창과 묶어 자세인식을 통해 판정한다. 또한 주로 밤에 악화되는 섬망의 특성을 고려해 눈 깜빡임을 통한 불면증 검사를 추가로 반영하였다. 낙상과 욕창을 섬망과 묶어 융복합적인 위험예측 시스템을 구축함과 동시에, 기존의 섬망 사정도구들이 지니는 시공간적 제약을 개선함으로써 간호인력의 부담을 덜어줄 것으로 기대된다.
