        논문 : 한옥 생산성 향상을 위한 설계지원 방안에 관한 연구 실무 -부재가공 프로세스 분석을 중심으로-

        기존 한옥의 계승을 위한 관련 연구가 진행되고 있으나, 한옥 보급에는 실용성을 띄지 못하고 있다. 이는 한옥 시공기술의 복잡성과 자재 생산기술 부족으로 인한 제한적 범위 내에서 공사가 진행됨에 따라 높은 공사비를 원인으로 꼽을 수 있다. 이에 따라 현재 전통 한옥이 가진 정체성을 살리고 현시대에 보급될 수 있는 신 한옥으로의 진화를 위해 부재간의 연관을 분석하고 조립하는 방식을 지식으로 구성하고 디지털 모델링을 함으로써 공사비 절감이 가능케 하는 방법 등이 연구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한옥 설계자를 고려한 효율적인 부재 가공 정보 지원을 목표로 한옥 부재 실무 가공 분석을 통해 경제성, 시공성을 파악하고 최적화 방안을 위한 한옥 부재 제작 CNC 시뮬레이션을 통해 효율적인 가공 프로세스의 발전 가능성을 예측하여 최적화된 부재가공 정보를 제안하고 이를 기반으로 한옥 수요자들을 위한 설계지원 방법에 대한 구체적인 방안을 제시함으로써 한옥의 생상성 향상에 기여하고자 한다. There have been a lot of studies about the Han-ok, the Korean-style house, in perspective of the inheritage of existing ones, but there are no practicality in the supply of Han-ok. The cause is considered to exist in the complexity of Han-ok and the techniques required to manufacture its components and in the relatively higher construction expenses in the process which is within restricted range. On the contrary, in order to preserve the identity of traditional Han-ok and encourage the evolution to create a new Han-ok that can be supplied to the present period, there has been studies that analyzes the connection between sub-components and assemble them into a digital model which can possibly decrease the expenses spent on construction. The research`s objective is to provide valuable information for Han-ok designers, which contains methods on manufacturing sub-components effectively. Furthermore, by analyzing the current manufacturing method`s workability and economic feasibility, the research can obtain an optimum alternative for improving Han-ok`s production. Also by using CNC simulation, the possibility of an effective production can be predicted, as well as the information that can lead to the optimum method for an efficient sub-component manufacturing and suggest a specific resolution which can also affect on the improvement of Han-ok productivity.

        Background : To understand Korean medicine it is crucial to first understand medical aspect of ‘DongUiBoGam’. It is also meaningful that it became one of the influential book even to posterity. Also based on the apprehension, we can take a view of development of Korean medicine led by ‘DongUiBoGam’. Objectives : This study aims to review the status, study field, specialist of DongUiBoGam. In the process, this review will grasp trends in this field of studies and will direct further researches into the right direction. Method : The computerized Korean databases were searched from their respective inceptions up to December 2008. The search terms used were ‘DongUiBoGam’ and random or Korean language terms related to DongUiBoGam. Several specialized journals were also manually searched for relevant articles. Result : Since the 2000s, DongUiBoGam papers in the Korean Literature is increased. Published 58 papers on The Korean Journal of Oriental Medical Prescription were more than the other journals. 58 papers published in The Korean Journal of Oriental Medical Prescription are the best in many areas related to Korean medicine. Most people have submitted papers related to DongUiBoGam was Woo-yeal Jeong. Conclusions : ‘DongUiBoGam’ research is conducted and current tendency and outlook for ‘DongUiBoGam’ is carried out focusing on several associations.

        Hypoallergenic and Physicochemical Properties of the A2 β-Casein Fraction of Goat Milk

        Goat milk has a protein composition similar to that of breast milk and contains abundant nutrients, but its use in functional foods is rather limited in comparison to milk from other sources. The aim of this study was to prepare a goat A2 β-casein fraction with improved digestibility and hypoallergenic properties. We investigated the optimal conditions for the separation of A2 β-casein fraction from goat milk by pH adjustment to pH 4.4 and treating the casein suspension with calcium chloride (0.05 M for 1 h at 25°C). Selective reduction of β- lactoglobulin and αs-casein was confirmed using sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography. The hypoallergenic property of A2 β-casein fraction was examined by measuring the release of histamine and tumor necrosis factor alpha from HMC-1 human mast cells exposed to different proteins, including A2 β-casein fraction. There was no significant difference in levels of both indicators between A2 β-casein treatment and the control (no protein treatment). The A2 β-casein fraction is abundant in essential amino acids, especially, branched-chain amino acids (leucine, valine, and isoleucine). The physicochemical properties of A2 β-casein fraction, including protein solubility and viscosity, are similar to those of bovine whole casein which is widely used as a protein source in various foods. Therefore, the goat A2 β-casein fraction may be useful as a food material with good digestibility and hypoallergenic properties for infants, the elderly, and people with metabolic disorders.

        This article conducted an pilot study on Lee Gyu-Jun(李圭晙)’s life and thoughts. He championed, and is mainly based on, old annotations of ancient Confucian bibles古文 that were made in the Han漢 and Tang唐 era in Chinese history and consequently took additionally into account Zuxi朱熹’s annotations on Confucian bibles. This cause big trouble to him in conservative Gyeong Shang Province(嶺南). He participated in the Confucian Religion Movement孔敎運動 and proposed constitutional monarchy as a new polity fit for changing Korean history. He closely interacted with many resistants to the Japanese rule of Korea and had a mixed perspective on Western culture, science and technology, and social system, positive or negative, contingent on cases. He made great footprints in the history of both modern Korean medicine and philosophy. Thus there is an urgent need for the overall study on Lee Gyu-Jun in every aspect.

        강원도 화천군 수달(Lutra lutra) 서식지의 식생 구조

        In order to determine whether vegetation would be one of the factors for the selection of otter home range, vegetation structure and other potential factors were studied in Hwacheon, Korea. Thirteen sites, otter’s activity found and not found, were investigated in North Han River and connected tributary streams of Hwacheon-gun. Three types of vegetation were classified by cluster analysis, which is short grass, tall grass and shrub type. Vegetation zone of each channel is composed of either one type, or mosaic of tall grass and shrub type. Short grass type is common in Lake Paro and upper North Han-river where water level is highly variable throughout a year. Therefore, annual species such as Persicaria nodosa, Fimbristylis dichotomam and Chenopodium ficifolium are the most dominant. Shrub type is common at the downstream sites of Jichon stream and along mainstream of North Han River down Lake Paro. A shrub species, Salix koreensis, is the most common. Tall grass type is dominant occupying the most vegetation zone of the tributary channels. Phragmites japonica is absolutely dominant. Due to its dense cover, a few plant species are co-existed. Otter activity was found in all three vegetation types and no marked activity was found at some sites of tall grass type. There is no difference in species composition and physiognomy between tall grass sites with and without otter activity, while it shows significant difference in fish availability between two groups. Overall we found that home range of otters in the region is along the mainstream and downstream of tributary streams with high fish availability in all vegetation types and in various human activity levels.

      • Fatty acid-CoA ligase 4 is overexpressed in human hepatocellular carcinoma

        <P>Fatty acid-CoA ligase 4 (FACL4) is a central enzyme controlling the unesterified arachidonic acid (AA) level in cells. It has been shown that FACL4 blocks apoptosis and promotes colon carcinogenesis by lowering the cellular level of unesterified AA. Consistent with this, FACL4 is upregulated in colon adenocarcinoma. The status of FACL4 in other tumors including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is not known. Here, we report that FACL4 is overexpressed in human HCC compared with adjacent normal liver tissues. FACL4 mRNA and protein were overexpressed in 5 out of 12 (41.7%) and 3 out of 8 (37.5%) cases of HCC, respectively. Immunohistochemical staining showed strong fine granular intracytoplasmic staining in tumor cells, whereas we observed occasional weak staining in normal liver tissues surrounding the tumors. We found that 14 out of 37 (37.8%) HCC expressed moderate to strong FACL4 immunostaining. Both normal adult and fetal liver tissues showed very weak to no detectable staining, whereas 3 out of 10 (30%) cirrhotic livers expressed weak staining. In addition, we found that 4 out of 8 (50%) human hepatoma cell lines expressed high levels of FACL4 by northern blot analysis. Our results show that FACL4 is a new molecular marker for HCC and suggest that the FACL4 pathway may be involved in liver carcinogenesis.</P>

        Effects of arsenic trioxide on cell death, reactive oxygen species and glutathione levels in different cell types.

        <P>Arsenic trioxide (ATO) can regulate many biological functions such as apoptosis and differentiation. We evaluated the effects of ATO on various cell types such as cervical cancer HeLa cells, pulmonary adenocarcinoma Calu-6 and A549 cells, calf pulmonary artery endothelial cells (CPAEC), human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) and human pulmonary fibroblast (HPF) cells in relation to cell growth, cell death and reactive oxygen species (ROS) and glutathione (GSH) levels. The growth of HeLa and Calu-6 cells was inhibited by ATO with an IC50 of approximately 15 microM at 24 h. A549 cell growth was not inhibited by 15 microM ATO. The susceptibility to ATO in CPAEC and HUVEC was similar to that in HeLa cells. The IC50 of ATO in HPF cells was approximately 40 microM. ATO induced apoptosis in HeLa, CPAEC and HUVEC, which was accompanied by the loss of mitochondrial membrane potential (DeltaPsim). However, ATO did not strongly trigger apoptosis in Calu-6, A549 and HPF cells. ATO increased or decreased the ROS level including O2.- and GSH levels depending on the incubation dose and cell type. In conclusion, ATO differentially affected cell growth inhibition and death depending on the incubation dose and cell type. The changes in ROS and GSH levels by ATO were not tightly correlated with the level of cell death. Our present data provide useful information for the action of ATO in various cell types in relation to cell growth, cell death, ROS and GSH levels.</P>

        Cloning of phosphoglucomutase gene (pgm) in Streptococcus parauberis

        Here, we have cloned and sequenced Streptococcus parauberis pgm gene, encoding the enzyme phosphoglucomutase (PGM), which is known to be in association with virulence in other streptococcal species. The PGM of S. parauberis is the most closely related to that of S. iniae based on their amino acid sequences.

      • Analysis and Evaluation of a BJT-Based 1T-DRAM

        <P>A BJT-based 1T-DRAM that utilizes a latch process is analyzed in an experimental assessment. The experimental study reveals that undesired activation of a parasitic BJT by a high leakage current inhibits aggressive scaling of a BJT-based 1T-DRAM. Given the importance of choosing proper operation biases, the drain voltage that triggers the latch process in the BJT-based 1T-DRAM should be reduced to avoid unwanted parasitic BJT activation. Hence, a heterogeneous source and drain is proposed to ensure the energy bandgap offset to silicon channel. A numerical evaluation confirms that a heterogeneous source and drain embedded structure is a promising candidate for high-density and low-power DRAM technologies.</P>
