We analyzed the chirp sound and behavior of Teleogryllus emma with observation system, which was consisted of computer, ccd-camera and microphone. Computational methods of wavelet transformation and Self-Organizing Maps (SOM) were utilized to characterized the chirp sound of insect species for automatic counting in this study. Wavelets were initially applied to feature extraction of the chirp sound. Wavelet coefficients were accordingly calculated based on the basis function (e.g., Morlet). The obtained coefficients were subsequently provided to count number of chirps in each song. Sound structure of insect specimens consisted with long chirp and short chirp and the patterns of song were grouped by frequency of long chirp and short chirp. The song patterns of insect specimens were divided by Self-Organizing Map (SOM) that was used number of chirp as input data. Application of computational methods to automatic detection of chirp sound was further discussed for obtaining objective assessment in behavior science.
P082 : Use of ustekinumab for treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis in Korea

Background: Ustekinumab, a fully human monoclonal immunoglobulin antibody that targets the interleukin (IL)-12 and IL-23 shared P40 subunit, has emerged as a promising treatment for moderate to severe psoriasis. However, to date, there are no ‘real-world’ data on ustekinumab in Korean patients with psoriasis. Objectives: To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of ustekinumab in Korean patients with psoriasis. Methods: Retrospective data was gathered during the follow-up of 31 consecutive psoriasis patients treated with ustekinumab for minimum of 16 weeks at single referral centre. Patients’ age, gender, Psoriasis Area Severity Index (PASI) score, physicians’ global assessment (PGA), concomitant therapies, and adverse events were reviewed. Results: Thirty-one patients (median age 42.7) had been treated with ustekinumab. Twenty-three of 31 patients (74.2%) had obtained near complete clearance (PASI 90) upon the final follow-up visit, and PASI90 was achieved after an average of 2 administration of ustekinumab. Concomitant systemic treatments, primarily methotrexate, were given to 7 (22.5%) patients. Three patients (9.7%) discontinued treatment, primarily for sub-optimal response or loss of response. No unexpected adverse events other than herpes zoster and elevated liver enzyme were observed. Conclusion: Ustekinumab can be of benefit in the treatment of Korean psoriasis patients, as it was associated with a rapid and satisfactory response and was well tolerated.
Effects of Different Light Spectra on the Oocyte Maturation in Grass Puffer Takifugu niphobles

In order to examine the effects of four different light spectra (white, red, green, and blue) on the oocyte maturation, the change of reproductive parameters, via brain-pituitary-gonad (BPG) axis in grass puffer, were investigated. After exposure four different light spectra for 7 weeks, the abundance of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) mRNA which is a type of seabream (sbGnRH) and two different subunit of gonadotropin hormones mRNAs, follicle-stimulating hormone (fshβ) mRNA and luteinizing hormone (lhβ) mRNA, were analyzed in the brain and pituitary. Histological analysis showed that the mature oocyte ratio in the green spectrum was higher than other light spectra-exposed groups. Gonadosomatic index (GSI) and oocyte developmental stage were also investigated in the gonad based on histological observations. GSI value with the presence of yolk stage oocytes was significantly increased in the green spectrum-exposed group when compared to that of the other light-exposed groups (white, red, and blue) (p˂0.05). The abundances of sbGnRH mRNA and fshβ mRNA in the green spectrum-exposed group were also significant higher than those of the other light spectra-exposed groups (p˂0.05). These results indicate that the maturation of oocyte in grass puffer can be accelerated by exposure to the spectrum of green. To better understand the molecular mechanism for the maturation of oocyte in grass puffer, further study examining the relationship between oocyte development and its related genes is required.

<P><B>Background</B></P><P>We evaluated the combined use of the modified Hodge test (MHT) and carbapenemase inhibition test (CIT) using phenylboronic acid (PBA) and EDTA to detect carbapenemase-producing <I>Enterobacteriaceae</I> (CPE) and metallo-β-lactamase (MBL)-producing <I>Pseudomonas</I> spp.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>A total of 49 isolates of CPE (15 <I>Klebsiella pneumoniae</I> carbapenemase [KPC], 5 Guiana extended-spectrum β-lactamase [GES]-5, 9 New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase [NDM]-1, 5 Verona integron-encoded metallo-β-lactamase [VIM]-2, 3 imipenem-hydrolyzing β-lactamase [IMP], and 12 oxacillinase [OXA]-48-like), 25 isolates of MBL-producing <I>Pseudomonas</I> spp. (14 VIM-2 and 11 IMP), and 35 carbapenemase-negative controls were included. The MHT was performed for all isolates as recommended by the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute. Enhanced growth of the indicator strain was measured in mm with a ruler. The CIT was performed by directly dripping PBA and EDTA solutions onto carbapenem disks that were placed on Mueller-Hinton agar plates seeded with the test strain.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>Considering the results of the MHT with the ertapenem disk in <I>Enterobacteriaceae</I> and <I>Pseudomonas</I> spp., the CIT with the meropenem disk in <I>Enterobacteriaceae</I>, and the imipenem disk in <I>Pseudomonas</I> spp., three combined disk tests, namely MHT-positive plus PBA-positive, EDTA-positive, and MHT-positive plus PBA-negative plus EDTA-negative, had excellent sensitivity and specificity for the detection of KPC- (100% sensitivity and 100% specificity), MBL- (94% sensitivity and 100% specificity), and OXA-48-like-producing isolates (100% sensitivity and 100% specificity), respectively.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>Combined use of the MHT and CIT with PBA and EDTA, for the detection of CPE and MBL-producing <I>Pseudomonas</I> spp., is effective in detecting and characterizing carbapenemases in routine laboratories.</P>
Testing an Empirical Model for the Value Network of the Mobile Communication Industry in Korea

The mobile communication industry evolves into a mobile communication industry ecosystem led by new keystone players (i.e., Apple and Google) and reflects the expansion of overall industrial competitiveness in size through conversion with other businesses. In this study, the modeling was done in a systematic method to derive the answers to the questions such as, which functions in the value chains of mobile communication industry contribute most to profit creation, what is the key resource, and what the new business model is. This study attempts to objectively identify derivation of factors and correlations between the configuration factors for competitiveness expansion for each industry. Specifically, we developed a dynamic model to predict the overall industry movement by theoretically establishing the modelling concept about value networking of the mobile communication industry ecosystem. Using the system dynamics methodology, coupled with professional interviews, this paper empirically tests the value network model that reflects open mobile communication ecosystem. The results show that the ecosystem of the mobile communication industry is evolving into an open form with the surfacing of portals and terminal production companies, suggesting the collapse of the traditional structure (Walled Garden).
