On the basis of the body temperature controlling mechanism, a thermal comfort sensing(TCS) device has been, designed and fabricated. In order to prove the applicability of our sensor, the PMV(Predicted Mean Vote) indicating module has been also developed and evaluated. It is expected that the sensor will be utilized as the means of providing information on the thermal comfort sensation of human beings.

This paper presents the wind characteristics of Typhoon Dujuan as measured at a 50 m guyed mast in Hong Kong. The basic wind speed, wind direction and turbulent intensity are studied at two measurement levels of the structure. We report a template-directed growth of Pb(Zr$_{x}$,Ti$_{1-x}$)O$_{3}$ (PZT) nanotubes in conjunction with sol-gel process and spin coating technique and its shape modification with an electron-beam (e-beam) irradiation. Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and field emission transmission electron microscope (FETEM) images show that PZT nanotubes are successfully synthesized. Their outer diameters and lengths are estimated to be 50 nm and several micrometers, respectively. PZT nanotubes exhibit a high aspect-ratio (up to 400) with diameters of ~50 nm and lengths of ~20 $\mu$m. The occurrence of electron diffraction ring patterns confirms that the typical PZT nanotubes are polycrystalline. The high-intensity e-beam is used to modify the shape of a PZT nanotube forming a nanohook. FETEM images of the nanohook formation process shows that the e-beam irradiation can be used to form the PZT nanotubes into desired shapes. .
