Present paper is an outcome of a four-year floristic survey work carried out in Upper Siang district of eastern Himalayan region in India which is also recognized as one of the 39 known ‘Biodiversity Hot-Spots’ of the world. We present here with a vegetation analysis of this area along with a checklist of 1,003 taxa belonging to 110 families, 529 genera, 994 species, 1 subspecies and 8 varieties of the angiosperms. Besides, one new species, 3 new records to India and 82 endemic species were also recorded. The diversity of herbs and shrubs were found higher than the tree species. Orchidaceae was found the most dominant family followed by Poaceae and Fabaceae. Many threatened plants have also been reported from the area. However, rapid urbanization and Jhum cultivation are imposing direct threat to the natural vegetation. We suggest some conservation measures that could help protecting this natural heritage.
Talipariti simile (Blume) Fryxell: a new record for Vietnam
Ritesh Kumar Choudhary,Do Thi Xuyen,Tran The Bach,박상홍,Do Van Hai,이유미,이중구 한국식물분류학회 2014 식물 분류학회지 Vol.44 No.1
Talipariti simile (Blume) Fryxell, Malvaceae is reported as new record from Vietnam. The plant can be differentiated from its allied species T. macrophyllum (Roxb. ex Hornem.) Fryxell in having glabrescent stems with purplish and smaller hairs, lanceolate-oblong and smaller stipules and ovoid capsules which are devoid of apicule or beaks. Taxonomic description, line drawing and color photographs have been provided to add to the species identification. Furthermore, comparison of the diagnostic characters between this species and the above mentioned related species is made.

Two species of Leycesteria, L. gracilis (Kurz) Airy Shaw and L. formosa Wall. (Caprifoliaceae), from the Lao Cai and Yen Bai Provinces are reported here as a new generic record for the flora of Vietnam. During floristic surveys of northern Vietnam, L. gracilis and L. Formosa were encountered. A critical morphological study of all the collected specimens and the type of materials consulting the relevant literature led us to confirm the identity of our collected specimens as L. gracilis and L. formosa. The genus differs from other Vietnamese genera of Caprifoliaceae by the presence of a spike inflorescence or flowers in sessile whorls of 6. Taxonomic notes, description, and photographs are provided, together with short notes on the distribution, ecology and phenology of the two species.
Capparis pubifolia B. S. Sun (Capparaceae): A newly recorded species of the flora of Vietnam
Sy Danh Thuong,Ritesh Kumar Choudhary,Tran The Bach,Do Van Hai,Bui Hong Quang,Chu Hoang Mau,최상호,엄상미 한국식물분류학회 2017 식물 분류학회지 Vol.47 No.2
Capparis pubifolia B. S. Sun is reported here as a new addition to the flora of Vietnam. It is morphologically allied to C. sikkimensis Kurz but differs due to the gray-yellow color of the hair of the twigs, having more secondary veins on the leaf, trichomes on both surfaces of the petal, and a globose shape of the fruit. Thus far, it has only been reported in the Guangxi and Yunnan areas of China. A description, a line drawing and color photographs are provided for species identification. Furthermore, a comparison of the diagnostic characters with those of related species is made
Two new records of Spiradiclis (Rubiaceae) from Vietnam
이중구,Nguyen Sinh Khang,Ritesh Kumar Choudhary,Bui Hong Quang 충남대학교 농업과학연구소 2019 Korean Journal of Agricultural Science Vol.46 No.3
Spiradiclis hainanensis H.S. Lo and S. purpureocaerulea H.S. Lo (Rubiaceae) are reported as new additions to the flora of Vietnam. In Vietnam, the genus Spiradiclis has been represented by only two species, S. leptobotrya (Drake) Pit. and S. caespitosa Blume. During our field investigations in the Lao Cai and Ninh Binh Provinces of northern Vietnam, we collected two interesting specimens of Spiradiclis that were earlier known only from China and unknown in Vietnam. Here, we report S. hainanensis and S. purpureocaerulea as previously unrecorded species from Vietnam. Detailed descriptions and color photographs are provided along with a taxonomic key for Spiradiclis species in Vietnam.
Jasminum albicalyx Kobuski (Oleaceae): a new record from Vietnam
Bui Hong Quang,Ritesh Kumar Choudhary,Tran The Bach,Vu Tien Chinh,Nguyen Sinh Khang,이창영,이중구 한국식물분류학회 2014 식물 분류학회지 Vol.44 No.3
We report a new record of Jasminum albicalyx Kobuski in Vietnam. The plant differs from J. pedunculatum Gagnep., a closely related taxon, by foliar and floral characters such as less number of lateral veins, presence of domatia at vein axils on the abaxial surface of leaf, smaller bracts, white calyx having more number of lobes and less number of lobes in corolla. Morphological description, line drawing and color photographs are provided in addition to the species key of allied species of Jasminum albicalyx in Vietnam.
Jasminum attenuatum Roxb. ex G. Don (Oleaceae): a new record to the flora of Vietnam
Bui Hong Quang,Tran The Bach,Ritesh Kumar Choudhary,이창영,이중구 한국식물분류학회 2013 식물 분류학회지 Vol.43 No.4
Jasminum attenuatum Roxb. ex G. Don, a species of Oleaceae, was recently found in Kon Ka Kinh National Park of Vietnam that represents a new record to the flora of the country. The plant can be differentiated from its allied species J. latipetalum C.B. Clarke and J. simplicifolium subsp. funale (Decne) Kiew by the shape of its leaf blade, in having 5-20 flowered inflorescence, linear bracts, and obconic and glabrous calyx with shorter lobes. The present study provides the species description, illustrations, micrographs by scanning electron microscope of the pollen grains, and important taxonomic notes. Furthermore, a comparison of the diagnostic characters between this species and the above mentioned related species is made.
Stephania subpeltata H. S. Lo (Menispermaceae): A new record for the Flora of Vietnam
Vu Tien Chinh,Bui Hong Quang,Ritesh Kumar Choudhary,Nian He Xia,이중구 한국식물분류학회 2016 식물 분류학회지 Vol.46 No.4
The Vietnamese occurrence of Stephania subpeltata H. S. Lo (Menispermaceae) is reported here for the first time. It is morphologically allied to S. japonica but differs in having subpeltate, ovate deltoid or broadly deltoid to subdeltoid leaves, shorter petiole, fewer leaf veins, conspicuously pedicellate umbelliform cymes which are seldom compound, and purple flowers and endocarp with a reduced number of abaxial rows. A tax- onomic description, distribution details, ecology, and a key to the Vietnamese species of Stephania are provided.
Justicia kampotiana Benoist (Acanthaceae): a new record for the flora of Vietnam
Do Van Hai,Nguyen Khac Khoi,Ritesh Kumar Choudhary,Deng Yunfei,이상진,이중구 한국식물분류학회 2016 식물 분류학회지 Vol.46 No.1
Justicia kampotiana Benoist (Acanthaceae) is reported as a new record for the flora of Vietnam. This species differs from its allied species J. ingrata Benoist in having corolla outside pubescent, tubes slightly longer than limbs and considerably shorter petioles. Description, line drawing and color photographs are provided for species identification. Furthermore, a comparison of the diagnostic characters with those of related species is made.
