Lilium, an important ornamental crop, requires genetic and phenotypic assessment in the development of new hybrids. Therefore, genetic (using FISH) and morphological studies were conducted on newly developed hybrids belonging to Lilium genomes (Asiatic, Oriental, longiflorum). Morphological results revealed that all F1 hybrids showed significant differences from one another. Triploid Asiatic hybrids (Brunello × Mapira) showed good phenotypic characteristics and longiflorum hybrids (Bright Tower × Snow Queen) expressed good growth characters. The Brunello × Mapira hybrid was especially superior in root length, number of scales, bulb diameter and bulb weight. Chromosomal studies con- firmed that all hybrids were diploid (2x = 24) with 24 chromosomes except the “AA-2” Asiatic hybrid which was triploid (2x = 3x = 36). In our karyotyping results, there was non-significant variation with respect to short arm length and arm length ratio among hybrids, while long arm length and total chromosome length showed significant differences. In the case of 45S signals, the maximum number of 45S rDNAs were found in “Bright Tower × Snow Queen” while the minimum number of 45S signals (2) were found in “Yellow cocotte × Valdisole”. 5S signals were similar in all hybrids except trip- loid Asiatic hybrids. Thus, newly developed young hybrids can be successfully screened using morphological and FISH analysis. FISH karyotyping identified a triploid Asiatic hybrid which was also superior in phenotypic characteristics.
Application of Genomic In Situ Hybridization in Horticultural Science

<P>Molecular cytogenetic techniques, such as in situ hybridization methods, are admirable tools to analyze the genomic structure and function, chromosome constituents, recombination patterns, alien gene introgression, genome evolution, aneuploidy, and polyploidy and also genome constitution visualization and chromosome discrimination from different genomes in allopolyploids of various horticultural crops. Using GISH advancement as multicolor detection is a significant approach to analyze the small and numerous chromosomes in fruit species, for example, <I>Diospyros</I> hybrids. This analytical technique has proved to be the most exact and effective way for hybrid status confirmation and helps remarkably to distinguish donor parental genomes in hybrids such as <I>Clivia</I>, <I>Rhododendron</I>, and <I>Lycoris</I> ornamental hybrids. The genome characterization facilitates in hybrid selection having potential desirable characteristics during the early hybridization breeding, as this technique expedites to detect introgressed sequence chromosomes. This review study epitomizes applications and advancements of genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) techniques in horticultural plants.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A mathematical model is established to discuss the flow of magneto Jeffrey nanofluid with heat generation/absorption and thermal radiation past an inclined stretched cylinder. Effects of thermal and concentration stratification are also taken into account. Analytical solution of the problem is obtained using Homotopy analysis method. Graphical illustrations depicting effects of prominent arising parameters on involved profiles with requisite discussion are also presented. Further, numerical data representing Skin friction, heat and mass transfer rates are also given in the form of table. A comparison in limiting case to previous study is also added to verify our results. GROWTH PATTERN AND BLOOD PICTURE OF BEETAL AND BARBARI GOATS

A comparative growth trial involving 12 Beetal and 12 Barbari kids was conducted for 120 days. The kids were allowed to suckle their dams and also offered ad libitum green fodder and concentrate at 2% of their liveweight. Beetal kids attained higher (P<.01) weight, consumed more (P<.01) milk, green fodder and concentrate, and utilized protein efficiently as compared to Barbari kids. However, variation due to sex was non-significant. Blood glucose, protein and cholesterol levels increased (P<.01) with increasing age irrespective of sex and breed.
DWT-based Denoising and Power Quality Disturbance Detection

Power quality (PQ) problems are becoming a big issue, since delicate complex electronic devices are widely used. We present a new denoising technique using discrete wavelet transform (DWT), where a modified correlation thresholding is used in order to reliably detect the PQ disturbances. We consider various PQ disturbances on the basis of IEEE-1159 standard over noisy environments, including voltage swell, voltage sag, transient, harmonics, interrupt, and their combinations. These event signals are decomposed using DWT for the detection of disturbances. We then evaluate the PQ disturbance detection ratio of the proposed denoising scheme over Gaussian noise channels. Simulation results also show that the proposed scheme has an improved signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) over existing scheme.

<P>The present exploration discusses two dimensional incompressible third grade-fluid flow under the influence of Cattaneo-Christov heat flux and homogeneous-heterogeneous reactions. Effects of magneto hydrodynamic and convective boundary condition are also taken into account. Boundary layer approach is engaged to obtain system of partial differential equations. Appropriate transformations are betrothed to transmute partial differential equations with high non-linearity to nonlinear differential equations. Renowned Homotopy Analysis method is summoned to find analytical solution of all involved distributions. Consequences of pertinent emerging parameters on related profiles are portrayed and relevant discussion is added with special focus on their physical aspects. It is observed that homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions depict conflicting behavior on Concentration distribution. It is also noted that increasing values of thermal relaxation parameter diminishes temperature field. A comparison to previous exploration is also added to validate our results.
