Histopathologic Characteristics of Canine Desmoplastic Melanoma
Preeti Kumari Chaudhary,채연,김수종 한국임상수의학회 2020 한국임상수의학회지 Vol.37 No.1
An 11-year-old castrated male miniature Schnauzer, weighing 8 kg, presented with multiple masses on the humeri. Grossly, the masses were separated from the surrounding soft tissues. Desmoplastic melanoma is an uncommon tumor in dogs. Fine-needle aspiration cytology showed large spindle-shaped cells with a high nuclear-cytoplasmic ratio. Histopathology showed interlacing bundles of fibroblast-like cells, highly pleomorphic multinuclear cells, occasional atypical spindle cells separated by fibrocollagenous stroma, and lymphocyte aggregates admixed with abundant collagen. The tumors were diffusely positive for S100a, a strong marker for desmoplastic melanoma, and negative for desmin. Herein, we report the pathobiology of a rare, uncommon variant of melanoma in a dog.
Primary Pulmonary Angiosarcoma in a Dog
Preeti Kumari Chaudhary,김학현,박대환,장동우,강지훈,김수종 한국임상수의학회 2019 한국임상수의학회지 Vol.36 No.2
The prevailing discipline notes that primary pulmonary angiosarcoma is an extremely rare malignant tumor with almost grave prognosis when presented in a dog. No cases have been reported earlier as occurring in dogs. This is the first time we are reporting a case of primary lung angiosarcoma in a 12-year-old Yorkshire terrier breed dog, that will explore the clinical as well as histopathological features of the tumor as noted in a dog. In this case, radiography revealed a well-defined large soft tissue mass in the caudo-dorsal lung field across the left hemi-thorax. After necropsy, it is noted that the lung was found to have the blood-filled nodular lesions on its surface, as determined with no such lesions on other organs. Upon the histological examination, it showed the presence of an extensive necrotic hemorrhage with anastomosing vascular space. Later, the immunohistochemistry showed strongly positive CD31 cells confirming the endothelial origin of the tumor. This is the first report of canine primary lung angiosarcoma in the Republic of Korea.

Malaria elimination and control require prompt and accurate diagnosis for treatment plan. Since microscopy and rapid diagnostic test (RDT) are not sensitive particularly for diagnosing low parasitemia, highly sensitive diagnostic tools are required for accurate treatment. Molecular diagnosis of malaria is commonly carried out by nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) targeting 18S rRNA gene, while this technique involves long turnaround time and multiple steps leading to false positive results. To overcome these drawbacks, we compared highly sensitive cytochrome oxidase gene-based single-step multiplex reaction with 18S rRNA nested PCR. Cytochrome oxidase (cox) genes of P. falciparum (cox-III) and P. vivax (cox-I) were compared with 18S rRNA gene nested PCR and microscopy. Cox gene multiplex PCR was found to be highly specific and sensitive, enhancing the detection limit of mixed infections. Cox gene multiplex PCR showed a sensitivity of 100% and a specificity of 97%. This approach can be used as an alternative diagnostic method as it offers higher diagnostic performance and is amenable to high throughput scaling up for a larger sample size at low cost.
A NOTE ON THE PROPERTIES OF PSEUDO-WEIGHTED BROWDER SPECTRUM
Preeti, Dharmarha,Sarita, Kumari Korean Mathematical Society 2023 대한수학회보 Vol.60 No.1
The goal of this article is to introduce the concept of pseudo-weighted Browder spectrum when the underlying Hilbert space is not necessarily separable. To attain this goal, the notion of α-pseudo-Browder operator has been introduced. The properties and the relation of the weighted spectrum, pseudo-weighted spectrum, weighted Browder spectrum, and pseudo-weighted Browder spectrum have been investigated by extending analogous properties of their corresponding essential pseudo-spectrum and essential pseudo-weighted spectrum. The weighted spectrum, pseudo-weighted spectrum, weighted Browder, and pseudo-weighted Browder spectrum of the sum of two bounded linear operators have been characterized in the case when the Hilbert space (not necessarily separable) is a direct sum of its closed invariant subspaces. This exploration ends with a characterization of the pseudo-weighted Browder spectrum of the sum of two bounded linear operators defined over the arbitrary Hilbert spaces under certain conditions.

The main aim of the article is to introduce new generalizations of Fredholm and Browder classes of spectra when the underlying Hilbert space is not necessarily separable and study their properties. To achieve the goal the notions of 𝛼-Browder operators, 𝛼-B-Fredholm operators, 𝛼-B-Browder operators and 𝛼-Drazin invertibility have been introduced. The relation of these classes of operators with their corresponding weighted spectra has been investigated. An equivalence of 𝛼-Drazin invertible operators with 𝛼-Browder operators and 𝛼-B-Browder operators has also been established. The weighted Browder spectrum of the sum of two bounded linear operators has been characterised in the case when the Hilbert space (not necessarily separable) is a direct sum of its closed invariant subspaces.
Platelet-rich plasma, platelet derivatives, and their therapeutic importance in veterinary medicine
김수종,김상구,Preeti Kumari Chaudhary 충북대학교 동물의학연구소 2022 Journal of Biomedical and Translational Research Vol.23 No.4
Over the past decade, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet derivatives have been widely investigated in the field of regenerative medicine due to their high concentrations of platelet-related growth factors, cytokines, and other proteins. Recently, many clinical studies have suggested their regenerative therapeutic efficacy in treating several disorders in medical field. However, their therapeutic applications are not well characterized in veterinary medicine as in human and experimental animals. This article reviews functional roles of platelets, scientific concepts, and clinical use of PRP and platelet derivatives in veterinary medicine. It also presents guidelines for veterinary applications of PRP in the future.

Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) removal and its efficient utilization is a big challenge for many petroleumrefinery industries now-a-days. The present investigation involves absorption of H2S in aqueousmethyldiethanolamine (MDEA) followed by sulphidation of benzyl chloride (BC) by H2S-rich MDEA toyield dibenzyl sulphide (DBS) selectively using tetrabutylphosphonium bromide (TBPB) as a phasetransfer catalyst. Ninety per cent selectivity of DBS was obtained at some level of process condition. Asuitable mechanism has been proposed. An empirical kinetic model was also developed and correlatedwith experimental data. The present work has a potential to be used as an alternative to Claus process.

The oldest and most extensively cultivated form of millet, known as pearl millet (<i>Pennisetum glaucum</i> (L.) R. Br. Syn. <i>Pennisetum americanum</i> (L.) Leeke), is raised over 312.00 lakh hectares in Asian and African countries. India is regarded as the significant hotspot for pearl millet diversity. In the Indian state of Haryana, where pearl millet is grown, a new and catastrophic bacterial disease known as stem rot of pearl millet spurred by the bacterium <i>Klebsiella aerogenes</i> (formerly <i>Enterobacter</i>) was first observed during fall 2018. The disease appears in form of small to long streaks on leaves, lesions on stem, and slimy rot appearance of stem. The associated bacterium showed close resemblance to <i>Klebsiella aerogenes</i> that was confirmed by a molecular evaluation based on 16S rDNA and gyrA gene nucleotide sequences. The isolates were also identified to be <i>Klebsiella aerogenes</i> based on biochemical assays, where Klebsiella isolates differed in D-trehalose and succinate alkalisation tests. During fall 2021-2023, the disease has spread all the pearl millet-growing districts of the state, extending up to 70% disease incidence in the affected fields. The disease is causing considering grain as well as fodder losses. The proposed scale, consisting of six levels (0-5), is developed where scores 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 have been categorized as highly resistant, resistant, moderately resistant, moderately susceptible, susceptible, and highly susceptible disease reaction, respectively. The disease cycle, survival of pathogen, and possible losses have also been studied to understand other features of the disease.
