The Korean Pain Interventional Society (KORSIS) was established in 2004 to foster pain interventionalists through research, education, and imaging guidance on interventions in relation to pain originating from the spine and peripheral neuromuscular structures. The 47th symposium was held at Samjung Hotel, Seoul, Korea, from 09:00 to 16:00 on Sunday, April 16, 2023. The symposium addressed headaches and facial pain treatment that patients frequently complain of in clinical practice but which are challenging to treat. It also addressed the diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy, including cubital tunnel syndrome, injection procedure methods for treatment of peripheral neuropathy, imaging study findings of the ankle joint, and the experiences and pain treatment techniques of clinicians experienced in pain management. It is hoped that the attendees at this symposium will apply what they have learned in clinical practice to enhance patient treatment.

Effect of Upper Thoracic Manipulation on women Chronic Neck pain patients with Forward head posture 대한치료과학회 2014 대한치료과학회지 Vol.6 No.2
Objective: This study seeks to establish the benefits of Upper Thoracic Manipulation on chronic neck pain patients with forward head posture by examining positive changes in their degree of neck pain, physical functioning, posture, pulmonary function and chest mobility. Method: 30 women with chronic neck pain patients with forward head posture who were receiving physical therapy in H hospital were divided into a Upper Thoracjc Manipulation Group(TMG) and a Upper Thoracic self Exercise Group(TEG). One group was treated by upper thoracjc manipulation and the other group by upper thoracic self exercise 3 times a week for 8 weeks. Evaluation were made on Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), Neck Dysfunction Index(NDI), Cranio Vertebral Angle(CVA), Pulmonary Function(PF) and Chest Expansion(CE). Repeated measure ANOVA was used to compare the evaluations of results before the experiment, results after 4 weeks, and results after 8 weeks. ANCOVA was used to compare between the groups. Results: In VAS, NDI, CVA, PF and CE both TMG and TEG showed weekly differences(p<.05). TMG showed more reduction in VAS, NDI more increase in CVA, PF and CE. Conclusion: In this study it showed that TMG is more effective than TEG on chronic neck pain patients with forward head posture in VAS, NDI, CVA, PF and CE.
Paint Spray Mass Spectrometry for the Detection of Additives from Polymers on Conducting Surfaces

Paint Spray is developed as a direct sampling ionisation method for mass spectrometric analysis of additives in polymer-based surface coatings. The technique simply involves applying an external high voltage (5 kV) to the wetted sample placed in front of the mass spectrometer inlet and represents a much simpler ionisation technique compared to those currently available. The capabilities of Paint Spray are demonstrated herein with the detection of four commercially available hindered amine light stabilisers; TINUVIN${(R)}$770, TINUVIN${(R)}$292, TINUVIN${(R)}$123 and TINUVIN${(R)}$152 directly from thermoset polyester-based coil coatings. Paint Spray requires no sample preparation or pre-treatment and combined with its simplicity requiring no specialised equipment makes it ideal for use by non-specialists. The application of Paint Spray for industrial use has significant potential as sample collection from a coil coating production line and Paint Spray ionisation could enable fast quality control screening at high sensitivity.
Study of a Three-Phase Multilevel Converter Topology with Common Flying Capacitors

Conventional three-phase multilevel converters use a high number of active and passive components, increasing their weight, volume and complexity. As specific weight has to be optimized, especially for on board applications like aeronautic propulsion, this paper proposes a new type of three-phase multilevel topology using the phase-sharing principle. It aims at reducing the number of components, while preserving multilevel interests (efficiency, quality of output signal). This paper will focus on a 4.16 kV five-level inverter topology. Functional approaches of signal and control will be described. A comparison with a three-phase 5L-ANPC will be also proposed.

Development of Force Observer in Series Elastic Actuator for Dynamic Control

<P>Recently, a series elastic actuator (SEA) has emerged as a potential actuator system for various robotic applications where safe and precise interactive force control is required. Even though lots of research has been conducted on the mechanical/controller design and the development of applications for SEAs, the accurate force observation issue has not been highlighted much. Only the simple law, that is, the spring in an SEA can measure interactive force has been repeatedly mentioned and utilized. However, this is not true when the load-side dynamics affects the spring deformation significantly. This paper tackles this problem by demonstrating the imprecise force observation of the spring deformation and proposing two types of external force observers to address the problem. A reaction force-sensing SEA (RFSEA) is adopted in this paper, and its dynamic characteristic is analyzed in detail using the Lagrangian mechanics. Based on the analyzed dynamics, force observers are designed and verified through simulations and experiments. An XY stage driven by RFSEAs is developed so that the stage can be force controlled, and the proposed force observers are applied to this. Human interactive forces on the developed XY stage, the impedance of which is controlled in several ways, are estimated and compared with a force plate. Various experimental results validate the performance and potential of the proposed force observer for SEA systems.</P>

This study provides cross-national empirical evidence that substantiates the dialectic relationship between global and local contexts with regard to educational gender equity both as a national principle and as a priority for state action. Cross-national data on educational gender equity policies across 160 countries were gathered from comprehensive datasets compiled by the International Bureau of Education of UNESCO. A series of descriptive and multivariate analyses of the data suggest that a nation-state's adoption of a formal educational principle regarding gender equity issues is largely influenced by global epistemic models of education, whereas state actions for educational gender equity are contingent upon a range of concrete socioeconomic conditions. Educational gender equity policy appears to be an illustrative case that exemplifies the structural duality of educational policy through which nation-states successfully incorporate and display elements that conform to world models of education and yet preserve considerable autonomy of state action.
First spin-parity constraint of the 306 keV resonance in Cl35 for nova nucleosynthesis

<P>Of particular interest in astrophysics is the S-34(p,gamma) Cl-35 reaction, which serves as a stepping stone in thermonuclear runaway reaction chains during a nova explosion. Though the isotopes involved are all stable, the reaction rate of this significant step is not well known, due to a lack of experimental spectroscopic information on states within the Gamow window above the proton separation threshold of Cl-35. Measurements of level spins and parities provide input for the calculation of resonance strengths, which ultimately determine the astrophysical reaction rate of the S-34(p,gamma)Cl-35 proton capture reaction. By performing the Cl-37( p,t)Cl-35 reaction in normal kinematics at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, we have conducted a study of the region of astrophysical interest in Cl-35, and have made the first-ever constraint on the spin and parity assignment for a level at 6677 +/- 15 keV (E-r = 306 keV), inside the Gamow window for novae.</P>
