The present work describes a simple, highly efficient and cost effective approach for efficient capturing ofCO2 and its conversion into high value product by using amino acid derived task specific ionic liquids(AAIL). Among the three different kinds of amino acid (histidine, aspartic acid and glutamic acid) derivedionic liquids studied, histidine derived amino acid ionic liquid was found to be an efficient capturingmedium for CO2 and its conversion to corresponding cyclic carbonates by reaction with epoxides underambient reaction conditions at atmospheric pressure using dimethylcarbonate as reaction medium. Thesalient features of the developed methodology are the use of biocompatible amino acid derived ionicliquid, efficient capturing and conversion of carbon dioxide, metal free system, excellent product yieldsand atmospheric pressure condition.
Assessment of the quality of life in maxillectomy patients : a longitudinal study

PURPOSE. To longitudinally assess the quality of life in maxillectomy patients rehabilitated with obturator prosthesis. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Thirty-six subjects were enrolled in the span of 16 months, out of which six were dropouts. Subjects (age group 20-60 years) with maxillary defects, irrespective of the cause, planned for definite obturator prosthesis, were recruited. The Hindi version of European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer, Head and Neck version 1 of Quality of Life Questionnaire was used before surgical intervention and one month after definitive obturator. Questionnaire includes 35 questions related to the patient’ physical health, well being, psychological status, social relation and environmental conditions. The data were processed with statistical package for social science (SPSS). Probability level of P<.05 was considered statistically significant. RESULTS. The quality of life after rehabilitation with obturator prosthesis was 81.48% (±13.64) on average. On item-level, maximum mean scores were obtained for items problem with teeth (1.87 ± 0.94), pain in mouth (1.80 ± 0.92), trouble in eating (1.70 ± 0.88), trouble in talking to other people (1.60 ± 1.22), problems in swallowing solid food (1.57 ± 1.22) and bothering appearance (1.53 ± 1.04); while minimum scores were obtained for the items coughing (1.17 ± 0.38), hoarseness of voice (1.17 ± 0.53), painful throat (1.13 ± 0.43), trouble in having social contacts with friends (1.10 ± 0.40) and trouble having physical contacts with family or friends (1.10 ± 0.31). CONCLUSION. Obturator prosthesis is a highly positive and non-invasive approach to improve the quality of life of patients with maxillectomy defects.

Early evaluation of the pyramidal tract using Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) is a prerequisite to decide the optimal treatment or to assess appropriate rehabilitation. The early predictive value of DTI for assessing motor and functional recovery in ischemic stroke (IS) has yielded contradictory results. The purpose is to systematically review and summarize the current available literature on the value of Fractional Anisotropy (FA) parameter of the DTI in predicting upper limb motor recovery after sub-acute IS. MEDLINE, PubMed, EMBASE, Google Scholar and Cochrane CENTRAL searches were conducted from January 1, 1950, to July 31, 2015, which was supplemented with relevant articles identified in the references. Correlation between FA and upper limb motor recovery measure was done. Heterogeneity was examined using Higgins I-squared, Tau-squared. Summary of correlation coefficient was determined using Random Effects model. Out of 166 citations, only eleven studies met the criteria for inclusion in the systematic review and six studies were included in the meta-analysis. A random effects model revealed that DTI parameter FA is a significant predictor for upper limb motor recovery after sub-acute IS [Correlation Coefficient=0.82; 95% Confidence Interval-0.66 to 0.90, P value<0.001]. Moderate heterogeneity was observed (Tau-squared=0.12, I-squared=62.14). The studies reported so far on correlation between DTI and upper limb motor recovery are few with small sample sizes. This meta-analysis suggests strong correlation between DTI parameter FA and upper limb motor recovery. Well-designed prospective trials embedded with larger sample size are required to establish these findings.
WEAKLY BERWALD SPACE WITH A SPECIAL (α, β)-METRIC

As a generalization of Berwald spaces, we have the ideas of Douglas spaces and Landsberg spaces. S. Bacso defined a weakly- Berwald space as another generalization of Berwald spaces. In 1972, Matsumoto proposed the (α, β) metric, which is a Finsler metric derived from a Riemannian metric α and a differential 1-form β. In this paper, we investigated an important class of (α, β)-metrics of the form F = μ1α + μ2β + μ3 β<sup>2</sup>/α , which is recognized as a special form of the first approximate Matsumoto metric on an n-dimensional manifold, and we obtain the criteria for such metrics to be weakly-Berwald metrics. A Finsler space with a special (α, β)-metric is a weakly Berwald space if and only if B<sup>m</sup><sub>m</sub> is a 1-form. We have shown that under certain geometric and algebraic circumstances, it transforms into a weakly Berwald space.
Metabolism of Dimethylphthalate by Aspergillus niger

Aspergillus niger is capable of metabolizing dimethylphthalate. The maximum weight of mycelium was observed after about 6-8 days of incubation. A TLC analysis revealed the accumulation of metabolites in the resting cell culture. Monomethylphthalate, phthalate, and protocatechuate were shown to be the intermediates by thin layer chromatographic and spectrophotometric analyses. The fungus metabolized dimethylphthalate through monomethylphthalate, phthalate, and protocatechuate as evidenced by the oxygen uptake and an enzymatic analysis. The terminal aromatic metabolite, protocatechuate, is metabolized via the ortho-cleavage pathway.

Training of social workers according to the changing needs of the society is important. To this end, we decided to review the adequacy of mental health training in postgraduate programme in social work. The Mental Health Care Act 2017 defines psychiatric social worker (PSW) in India to have additional higher qualification beyond post-graduation in social work. The number of such qualified PSWs appears to be limited due to small number of institutes that offer advanced training in the country. Though, the number of available PSWs with such qualifications is rising, the manpower in proportion to the mental health needs in the country continues to remain low. It is therefore, relevant to review the quality of psychiatric social work education at postgraduate level if this level is to be considered as the desirable qualification for PSW. In this context, postgraduate social work syllabi from 71 universities including autonomous institutions were reviewed using semi-structured assessment. The results show a lack of uniform teaching components, training methods and insufficient skill orientation towards mental health interventions. These observations suggest that curricula and training are modified with strengthening and enhancing the quality of training of mental health at post-graduate level in Social Work.

Wearable's become most widely used in the medical field to assess and monitor human body conditions even from remotelocations. So, it should be weightless as well as functional at various temperature ranges. It is mandated that it should befunctional with ultra-sensitiveness. The proper selection of conductive elements should be part of the measuring device. Based on these criteria, this review article is articulated. The effect conductor is metal, but metal is heavier, wearable shouldbe slick thereby, the best material is liquid metal. So, the scope and implications of the liquid metal in flexible electronicsare consolidated. Furthermore, the future scope of the wearable is assessed with the aid of patent landscape analysis, as aknown fact is updated faster than other databases. As well-identified few technologies that have been applied as patents, itmight have better growth owing to its technological advancements.

Artificial Intelligence in machines is a very challenging discussion. It involves the creation of machines which can simulate intelligence. This paper discusses some of the current trends and practices in AI and subsequently offers alternative theory for improvement in some of today’s prominent and widely accepted postulates. For this, focus on the structuring and functioning of a simple A.I. system - chatbots (or chatter bots) is made. The paper shows how current approach towards A.I. is not adequate and offers a new theory that discusses machine intelligence, throwing light to the future of intelligent systems.
