The anti-thrombotic effects of LB30057, a direct thrombin inhibitor, were evaluated with in vivo rat and dog thrombosis models. In rats, 1 mg/kg of LB30057 inhibited half of the clot formations in the inferior vena cava at 5 minutes after intravenous application. When measured at 2 hours after oral application, 100 mg/kg prevented approximately half of the clot formations in the inferior vena cava and 50 mg/kg prolonged the mean occlusion time from $15.6{\pm}1.3$ minutes to $47.2{\pm}8.3$ minutes in the carotid artery. In dogs, the formation of thrombus in the jugular vein was reduced to half at a dose range of 20-30 mg/kg at 6 hours after oral application. In addition, the LB30057 dosage required to reduce venous clot formation by approximately 80-90% in dogs was only about 10% of that required for the same reduction in rats. This is probably due to the variation in its time-dependent blood concentration profiles in each species; for example, the plasma half-life of LB71350 in dogs was longer than that in rats ($153.0{\pm}3.0$ vs. $129.7{\pm}12.7$ min at 30 mg/kg, i.v., respectively). AUG, $T_{max},{\;}G_{max}$, and BA in dogs were 59, 8.9, 9.17, and 13.3 times higher than those in rats at oral 30 mg/kg, respectively. Taken together, these results suggest that LB30057 administered orally is effective in the prevention of arterial and venous thrombosis in rats and dogs. It therefore represents a good lead compound for investigations to discover a new, orally available, therapeutic agent for treating thrombotic diseases.

Tuna and tuna fishing extend over most of the tropical waters of the world oceans, especially, this study of the Indian Ocean and the fish and the fishing vessels are highly mobile. No country can deal in isolation with the problems of its tuna fishery and of any tuna fishery in its waters, without collaborating with other countries. This cooperation is often best established through some formal international mechanism. The essential requirements are for information-on the resources, the fishery, the trade-and to identify where management actions are needed to console the resources or to maintain the economic or social function of the fishery. These will also usually require some form of international mechanism. With the changes in the Law of the Sea, the situation in respect of management of tuna-considered among the highly migratory species, requiring special treatment-has also changed. At present there are both uncertainty regarding tuna management and political arguments as to how such management can be best implemented. Bearing this in mind, together with the fact that only few tuna stocks have shown clear evidence of serious depletion through over-exploitation, present emphasis will be placed on information requirements. This study included compiling the data necessary to review the state of stoks in the Indian Ocean tuna fishing grounds. Information on the resources-where the fish are, their quantity, their movements, etc. is important, whether in planning development of new fisheries, or considering the need for collaboration with other countries (in ascertaining to what extent their catches may affect catches of the national fleet) or for conservation measures. A major source of information is the statistics of for conservation measures. A major source of information is the statistics of catch and fishing effort from existing commercial vessels. These need to be assembled for all fisheries on the same stock on an oceanwide basis. The statistical data also need to be analysed and intepreted, and combined with biological data(e.g., on growth, mortality and migration rates) to provide information that is intelligible and useful for administrators and other decision-makers. This must also be undertaken on a resource-wide or ocean-wide basis. Finally, because of the world-wide similarities in the methods of datching, processing and marketing fish, there is a particular but not exclusive need in those countries just beginning to develop their tuna fisheries-to have ready access to a syntheis of information on tuna, tuna biology and tuna fisheries and tuna fisheries economics and management on the Indian Ocean.
Efficacy of Corpus-driven Scoring Methods for Computer-based Dictation Tests

The present research is a follow-up research of an exploratory validation study of computer-based dictation tests utilizing TTS (text-to-speech) (Choi & Park, 2015). The study attempted to explore the efficacy of different scoring methods utilizing corpus linguistic techniques. To this end, the data collected from a prior study was employed in the research. 117 Korean EFL learners participated in this research and were divided into three groups depending on educational levels as well as their proficiency levels: 37 UNI (advanced), 40 HSU (intermediate), and 40 HSL (low). Participants` responses were scored using six different methods: GS (graduated scoring), AM (appropriate meaning-based scoring), EW (exact-word scoring), WM (wordlist match scoring), WML (wordlist match scoring including lemmas), and WMS (wordlist match scoring including synonyms). Comparative analysis of the efficacy of the scoring methods revealed that the four methods were highly correlated with each other and that corpus-based wordlist matching was found to be the most effective and robust scoring method. Among the three wordlist match scoring methods producing robust results, WM was proven to be the most effective semi-automated method with high practicality, requiring the least amount of time and energy for scoring.
개인용 컴퓨터를 이용한 MOS 소자의 소수 캐리어 수명 측정

lag measurement 법과 transient capacitance 법을 이용하여 MOS 소자의 소수 캐리어 수명을 측정하였다. 여러 가지 MOS 시료에 대하여 lag 측정법에 의하여 얻은 재결합 수명의 값은 과도전기용량법에 의해 측정된 발생 수명의 값과 잘 일치한다. 본 실험결과 이들 수명의 값들의 25.1μsec와 24.1μsec이다. 특히 실험의 자동화를 위하여 자체 제작한 실험 system(lag measurement system과 C-V plotter)을 개인용 컴퓨터에 접속하여 전산화하였다. The minority carrier lifetime of MOS device have been measured with the lag measurement method and the transient capacitance method. The values of recombination lifetime obtained by the lag measurement method are in good agreement with those measured by the tansient capacitance method for a variety of MOS sample. From this experimental result, the values of these lifetimes are 25.1μsec and 24.1μsec. Particularly, to achieve the automatization of experiment, self-made experiment system (lag measurement system and C-V plotter) have been interfaced with a personal computer.
An Exploratory Validation Study of Computer-based Dictation Tests Utilizing TTS

The present research explored the impact of different types of aural input recorded by native speakers (NS) and text-to-speech (TTS) on EFL learners’ performance in computer-based dictation tests. A set of computer-based dictation tests was developed. Participants in the study were 117 EFL learners, grouped into three proficiency levels. Results showed no significant effects of both input order and test types on the performance across the three levels. In contrast, there was a statistically significant difference among the three groups in dictation test scores. Tenuous interactions were detected between the test type and aural input regardless of learners’ proficiency levels even though they were not statistically significant. In the phrase dictation test, the types of input did not have an impact on the performance across the three levels. However, high school students were shown to be influenced by the types of input in the clause dictation test. The survey revealed that most respondents were in favor of dictation as a learning tool while noticing no significant differences between NS and TTS. The findings are expected to shed light on how to capitalize on potentials of TTS to develop an automated dictation test as an integrative testing and learning tool.

A new kidney bean cultivar, “Noghyeob 1” was developed at the Yeongnam Agricultural Research Institute (YARI) in 2005. “Noghyeob 1” was selected from a cross between KLG50074 and KLG50063. It has determinate growth habit, white flower, green pod color, oval shape of crossed section of pod at the harvesting time for edible pod, white seed coat and middle seed size (21.1 grams per 100 seeds). The average yield of edible pod of “Noghyeob 1” was 24.25 M/T per hectare in the yield trials which were carried out at the green house in spring and autumn in 2005. It was 7 percent higher than that of the check cultivar “Kangnangkong 1”.
