DARK ENERGY REFLECTIONS IN THE REDSHIFT-SPACE QUADRUPOLE

We show that next-generation galaxy surveys such as KAOS (the Kilo-Aperture Optical Spectro-graph)will constrain dark energy even if the baryon oscillations are missing from the monopole power spectrum and the bias is scale- and time-dependent KAOS will accurately measure the quadrupole power spectrum which gives the leading anisotropies in the power spectrum in redshift space due to peculiar velocities, the finger of God effect, as well as the Alcock-Paczynski effect. The combination of monopole and quadrupole power spectra powerfully breaks the degeneracy between the bias parameters and dark energy and, in the complete absence of baryon oscillations ($\Omega$b = 0), leads to a roughly $500\%$ improvement in constraints on dark energy compared with the monopole spectrum alone. As a result, for KAOS the worst case with no oscillations has dark energy errors only mildly degraded relative to the ideal case, providing insurance on the robustness of KAOS constraints on dark energy. We show that nonlinear effects are crucial in correctly evaluating the quadrupole and significantly improving the constraints on dark energy when we allow for multi-parameter scale-dependent bias.

To understand the utilization property of light energy, Synechococcus sp. MA19, a poly-${\beta}$-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) producer, was cultivated at the different incident light intensities of 15.3, 50.0 and 78.2 W/$m^2$ using media with and without phosphate. From the results of metabolic flux analysis, it was found that the cell yield based on ATP synthesis was estimated as $3.5{\times}10^{-3}$ kg-biomass/mol-ATP in these cultures. Under the examined conditions, there were no significant differences in the efficiency of light energy conversion to chemical energies estimated as ATP synthesis and reducing potential (NADH + NADPH) formation whether the PHB synthesis took place or not. The energy converted from light to ATP was kept relatively high around the energy absorbed by the cells of $2.5-3.0{\times}10^{6} J\;h^{-1}\;kg^{-1}$, whereas the energy of reducing potential was hardly changed in the examined range of the energy absorbed by the cells.
A study of Rousseau's concept of General Will from the unification thelolgical perspective

The democratic thought in Jean-Jacques Rousseau(1712-78)'s The Social Contract(De Contrat Social, 1762) had become the principle guidance for the French Revolution(1789). Democracy is enforced in actuality by the principle of majority rule. Rousseau had presented the concept of "general will" (volonte generale) as the basis of the principle of majority rule. In this paper, we will compare Rousseau's concept of "general will" with the Unification theological concept of "the purpose of the whole" . We will clarify the similarity and difference between Rousseau's concept and the Unification theological concept.
Apoptosis in Rheumatoid Arthritis Novel Pathway in Regulation of Autoimmune Disease

Rheumatoid arthritis(RA) has been characterized by proliferating synoviym and influx of variety of inflammatory cells. According to the disease progression the prcess involving hyperplasia of synovial cell. mainly involving synovial fibroblasts and developing bone and joint destruction. However, one of the characteristic features RA, proliferation of synovium is not limitless and spontaneous growth arrest of synovial hypertrophy has been occasionally observed in the course of the disease. This clinical feature has been obscure and considered as "natural course" of the disease progression in RA for long time. This paradoxical phenomena has been divided into following process. One is "spontaneous remission" and the other is, intractable proliferated synovium which leads bone destruction. These clinical characteristics of RA prompted us to investigate how alteration of rheumatoid synovium occurs, i. e.. cell cycle alteration or somatic gene mutation arrest. Apoptosis has been recognized a mode of cell death in which cell are deleted in the midst of living tissue. Despite of other form of death. such as necrosis, apoptosis rightly associated with homeostasis in vertebrate differentiation and proliferation as well.

Purpose: Deciding on treatment carcinoma of the tongue when the tumor has a thickness of 1.5 cm or more is difficult. Surgery often requires wide resection and re-construction, leading to considerable functional impairment. A cesium implant is an attractive option, but according to the Manchester System, a two plane implant is needed. Materials and Methods: According to the textbook, a tumor is sandwiched between the needles, which are implanted at the edge of the tumor. This may cause an unnecessarily high dose to the outer surface of the tongue,which sometimes leads to a persistent ulcer. To avoid this complication, we invented a modified implantation method, and applied the method to five consecutive patients. Results: With a minimum follow-up of 2 years, all primary tumors in 5consecutive patients have been controlled. No complications occurred in soft tissue of the tongue or in the mandible. Conclusion: Our modified Manchester System was feasible and effective for tumors that has a thickness of 1.5 cm or more.
A survey of healthcare workers’ recommendations about human papillomavirus vaccination

Purpose: The human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine is safe and effective for preventing HPV-related diseases. However, HPV vaccination rates in Japan are low because the “Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare” had stopped recommending vaccination. We assessed healthcare workers’ (HCWs) current recommendations regarding the HPV vaccine and how the provision of information about HPV vaccination affected their recommendations. Materials and Methods: A survey was conducted among nurses and physicians in Nara prefecture from March 2021 to July 2021. The questionnaire asked about their understanding, recommendations, and opinions regarding HPV vaccination. Before answering the last two questions (optional), the HCWs read evidence-based information quantifying the risks and benefits of HPV vaccination. Results: A total of 441 HCWs completed the questionnaire. Only 19% of HCWs always recommended HPV vaccination for girls aged 12–16 years. The evidence-based information significantly improved the percentage of HCWs who would “always recommend” vaccination. Conclusion: This study showed that the proportion of HCWs who recommend HPV vaccination to adolescent girls remains low in Japan. However, we found that evidence-based information describing the causal relationship between adverse events and vaccination, quantifying the risks and benefits, noting the importance of HCW communications with families, and reporting the recommendations of national societies, might increase HCWs’ recommendations for HPV vaccination.
