Lieu Thi Nguyen,Ninh Tran,Uematsu CHIYOMI,Katayama HIRONORI,Dung Van Luong,Son Thanh Hoang,Ky Danh NGUYEN,Hung Viet NGUYEN,Toan Canh THAI 한국식물분류학회 2018 식물 분류학회지 Vol.48 No.2
Two new species of Camellia (Theaceae) are described from Vietnam: Camellia vuquangensis Luong, Tran & L. T. Nguyen and Camellia hatinhensis Luong, Tran & L. T. Nguyen. The new taxa were col- lected from Vu Quang National Park in the center of Vietnam. The new finds are morphologically dissimilar to all known Camellia species. Recent Camellia discoveries have increased the number of species recorded in Viet- nam from 50 to 75, making Vietnam a center of diversity and a crucial area for more research into the diversity and distributions of Camellia.

Soluble epoxide hydrolases (sEH) are enzymes present in all living organisms, metabolize epoxy fatty acids to 1,2-diols. sEH in the metabolism of polyunsaturated fatty acids plays a key role in inflammation. In addition, the endogenous lipid mediators in cardiovascular disease are also broken down to diols by the action of sEH that enhanced cardiovascular protection. In this study, sEH inhibitory guided fractionation led to the isolation of five phenolic compounds trans-resveratrol (1), trans-piceatannol (2), sulfuretin (3), (+)-balanophonin (4), and cassigarol E (5) from the ethanol extract of the seeds of Passiflora edulis Sims cultivated in Vietnam. The chemical structures of isolated compounds were determined by the interpretation of NMR spectral data, mass spectra, and comparison with data from the literature. The soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) inhibitory activity of isolated compounds was evaluated. Among them, trans-piceatannol (2) showed the most potent inhibitory activity on sEH with an IC50 value of 3.4 mM. This study marks the first time that sulfuretin (3) was isolated from Passiflora edulis as well as (+)-balanophonin (4), and cassigarol E (5) were isolated from Passiflora genus.

Tran, Xuan Quy,Dang, Hung Thang,Nguyen, Thinh Korean Mathematical Society 2016 대한수학회지 Vol.53 No.2
In this paper, we are concerned with abstract random linear operators on probabilistic unitary spaces which are a generalization of generalized random linear operators on a Hilbert space defined in [25]. The representation theorem for abstract random bounded linear operators and some results on the adjoint of abstract random linear operators are given.

The controlled synthesis of mesoporous silica and metal oxide nanocomposites with a highly ordered porous structure and large specific surface area for specific applications has been an attractive topic in the field of porous materials. Herein, we introduce a novel method for the fabrication of highly ordered mesoporous structured and large specific surface area Fe2O3/SiO2 nanocomposites, and consider their application in room temperature gas sensors. The mesoporous Fe2O3/SiO2 nanocomposites were synthesised by a two-step method, which combines the hydrothermal growth of Fe2O3 nanoparticles and the microemulsion phase of Brij 56 (C16EO10) surfactant as templates in instantly direct-templating synthesis. This synthesis method enables the fabrication of mesoporous Fe2O3/SiO2 nanocomposites without distortion of the ordered porous structure after calcination at high temperature. The synthesised materials were found to be efficient in a room temperature VOC sensor application, with good recovery.

( Tran Minh Hung ),( Nguyen Phuoc Long ),( Pham Quang Hoa ),( Tae-won Jang ),( Jusang Kim ),( Jee Youn Oh ),( Hyun Kuk Kim ),( Ji Joung Kang ),( Yong-soon Cho ),( Jae-gook Shin ) 대한결핵 및 호흡기학회 2021 대한결핵 및 호흡기학회 추계학술대회 초록집 Vol.129 No.0
Background Ethambutol (EMB) is one of the four drugs to treat drug-susceptibility tuberculosis (TB). Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) is suggested to establish the safe and effective dosing of drugs in TB treatment. The population pharmacokinetic (PK) model provides a helpful tool for individualizing the treatment to minimize therapeutic failure and toxicity. This study was designed to evaluate the EMB PK parameters, characterize the interindividual variability of EMB PK parameters in Korean patients. Methods Data were collected from patients in the prospective cohort from the Center for Personalized Precision Medicine of Tuberculosis research center. The data were randomly divided into training and test sets with a ratio of 4:1. The model was developed using NONMEM version 4.7.1. Non-parametric bootstrapping and prediction-corrected visual predictive checks were used to validate the final model. Additionally, the model performance was evaluated on the test set. Results A model with two-compartment, one transit compartment prior to first-order absorption and elimination adequately described the PK profile of EMB. The estimates were 69.3 L/h for apparent clearance (CL/F), 154 L/h for apparent intercompartment clearance (Q/F), 98.8 L for apparent volume of central compartment (Vc/F), 849 L for apparent volume of peripheral compartment (Vp/F), 0.446 h-1 for rate constant of first-order absorption (Ka) and 0.719 h for mean transit time (MTT). Body weight significantly influenced CL/F and Q/F, and eGFR markedly affected CL/F. The internal and external validations indicated a satisfactory descriptive and predictive performance of the model, respectively. Conclusions We successfully established a population PK model to predict EMB concentrations for Korean TB patients. Internal and external validation confirmed that our model showed a good performance. Our model may be a valuable tool to support dose optimization according to individual patients' body weight and renal function in clinical management.
Alumina-coated silicon-based nanowire arrays for high quality Li-ion battery anodes
Nguyen, Hung Tran,Zamfir, Mihai Robert,Duong, Loc Dinh,Lee, Young Hee,Bondavalli, Paolo,Pribat, Didier The Royal Society of Chemistry 2012 Journal of materials chemistry Vol.22 No.47
<P>Amongst other requirements, a good anode for Li-ion battery applications must exhibit dimensional stability upon Li insertion, as well as chemical inertness with respect to the electrolyte. This latter characteristic is usually provided by the so-called solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), a passivating film that is formed at the end of the first lithiation step, originating from the partial reduction of the electrolyte and Li salt. However, silicon, which exhibits the highest known capacity for Li alloying, possesses none of the above attributes when used as an anode material. Actually, the large volume expansion of Si upon alloying with Li induces a mechanical instability of the SEI film, which therefore fails to provide its protective role. In this paper, we have studied the effect of thin alumina deposits on top of Si-based nanowires. A thin alumina deposit will act as a substitute for the SEI, preventing electrolyte decomposition. We observe that even if alumina films crack during lithiation–delithiation steps of the Si-based nanowires, they still provide some kind of protection, prolonging the lifetime of the anode. Using Al2O3-coated Si-based nanowires, we have been able to obtain a lifetime of 1280 cycles when the capacity of the anode was limited to 1200 mA h g−1. We also show that uncoated Si nanowires degrade more rapidly when cycled under identical conditions.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>We have studied the effect of thin Al2O3 coatings on Si-based nanowires for Li-ion battery anodes. Tran Diem Quynh,Do Quynh Trang,Nguyen Ha Anh,Le Ba Hung,정경화,Nguyen Phuong Linh Academy of Asian Business (AAB) 2023 Academy of Asian Business Review Vol.9 No.1
Sky Mavis, founded in 2019 by a Vietnamese software developer, is the parent of the game titled “Axie Infinity,” one of the highest-grossing blockchain-based games ever released. It took Sky Mavis only three years and eight months to transform from an idea on paper into a unicorn start-up valued at USD 8.5 billion in 2021. Sky Mavis has done an excellent job in positioning their game Axie Infinity as the pioneer, trendsetter, and revolutionary in an unestablished industry and later provided a favorable foundation for many coming applications. The success of Sky Mavis and its product, Axie Infinity, can be attributed to three main factors: product differentiation, customer-centric and community-building initiatives, and crisis management. What is special is that Sky Mavis offered players benefits beyond mere enjoyment by unleashing its potential to generate income and transfer digital assets. Successfully landing as a top player in the blockchain-based gaming market, Sky Mavis is now at the stage of choosing whether to pivot or persevere. By introducing Sky Mavis's story and analyzing its success, this article contributes to helping to understand fast-changing gaming industry and provides guidelines that can benefit game companies.

<P>In this paper, we present a detailed study of the magnetocaloric effect and critical properties around the ferromagnetic-paramagnetic (FM-PM) phase transition of La0.7Ca0.3-xSrxMnO3 nanoparticles with x = 0.10, 0.11, and 0.12. The samples were synthesized by a combination of reactive milling and thermal processing. The average crystallite size of nanoparticles estimated from the linewidth of X-ray diffraction peaks by using the Williamson-Hall method is about 50 nm. Under a magnetic field change of 10 kOe, the maximum magnetic entropy change (|ΔSmax|) reaches values of 1.47, 1.42, and 1.38 J·kg-1·K-1 for x = 0.10, 0.11, and 0.12, respectively, at around 300 K. The refrigerant capacity is thus in between 44 and 54 J·kg-1. Particularly, the M2 versus H/M curves prove that all the samples exhibit a second-order magnetic phase transition. Based on Landau's phase-transition theory and careful analyses of the magnetic data around the FM-PM transition region, we have determined the critical exponents β, y, δ, and TC. Here, the β values obtained are 0.397, 0.453, and 0.456 for x = 0.10, 0.11, and 0.12, respectively, which are in between those expected on the basis of the mean-field theory (β = 0.5) and value of the 3-D Heisenberg model (β = 0.365). The result proves the coexistence of shortand long-range FM interactions in La0.7Ca0.3-xSrxMnO3 nanoparticles. The nature of this phenomenon is discussed thoroughly.</P>
