The design of coreeshell heteronanostructures is powerful tool to control both the gas selectivity and the sensitivity due to their hybrid properties. In this work, the SnO2eZnO coreeshell nanowires (NWs) were fabricated via two-step process comprising the thermal evaporation of the single crystalline SnO2 NWs core and the spray-coating of the grainy polycrystalline ZnO shell for enhanced ethanol sensing performance. The as-obtained products were investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and photoluminescence. The ethanol gas-sensing properties of pristine SnO2 and ZnOeSnO2 core eshell NW sensors were studied and compared. The gas response to 500 ppm ethanol of the coreeshell NW sensor increased to 33.84, which was 12.5-fold higher than that of the pristine SnO2 NW sensor. The selectivity of the coreeshell NW sensor also improved. The response to 100 ppm ethanol was about 14.1,whereas the response to 100 ppm liquefied petroleum gas, NH3, H2, and CO was smaller, and ranged from 2.5 to 5.3. This indicates that the coreeshell heterostructures have great potential for use as gas sensing materials.

Genetic variability and correlation analysis are fundamental references for the innovative development of breeding programs to improve varieties and desirable traits. In the present study, the correlation and path analysis was conducted to understand the association among yield, micronutrients (iron and zinc), and protein content under aerobic conditions in local rice landraces from various agro ecological regions of Karnataka, India. The grain yield per plant showed a significant positive correlation with plant height, the tiller number, spikelet fertility, flag leaf length, and test weight. The zinc content was negatively correlated with grain yield per plant. The phenotypic path-coefficient analysis revealed that the total number of tillers, grain length, test weight, and harvest index exhibited a positive direct effect on grain yield per plant, while Grain protein content showed a low direct effect on this trait. This study also indicated that harvest index, flag leaf length, spikelet fertility, and test weight could be considered to make for a higher yield.

Backgrounds/Aims: Parenchymal-sparing anatomical hepatectomy (Ps–AH) based on portal ramification of the right anterior section (RAS) is a new technique to avoid unnecessarily transecting too much liver parenchyma, especially in cases of major anatomical hepatectomy. Methods: We prospectively assessed 26 patients with primary hepatic malignancies having undergone major Ps–AH based on portal ramification of the RAS from August 2018 to August 2022 (48 months). The perioperative indications, clinical data, intra-operative index, pathological postoperative specimens, postoperative complications, and follow-up results were retrospectively evaluated. Results: Among the 26 patients analyzed, there was just one case that had intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma The preoperative level of α– Fetoprotein was 25.2 ng/mL. All cases (100%) had Child–Pugh A liver function preoperatively. The ventral/dorsal RAS was preserved in 19 and 7 patients, respectively. The mean surgical margin was 6.2 mm. The mean surgical time was 228.5 minutes, while the mean blood loss was 255 mL. In pathology, 5 cases (19.2%) had microvascular invasion, and in the group of HCC patients, 92% of all cases had moderate or poor tumor differentiation. Six cases (23.1%) of postoperative complications were graded over III according to the Clavien–Dindo system, including in three patients resistant ascites or intra-abdominal abscess that required intervention. Conclusions: Parenchymal-sparing anatomical hepatectomy based on portal ramification of the RAS to achieve R0-resection was safe and effective, with favorable short-term outcomes. This technique can be used widely in clinical practice.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to characterize mental health issues among Vietnamese healthcare workers (HCWs) and to identify related factors. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 990 HCWs in 2021. Their mental health status was measured using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale. Results: In total, 49.9%, 52.3%, and 29.8% of respondents were found to have depression, anxiety, and stress, respectively. The multivariable linear regression model revealed that factors associated with increased anxiety scores included depression scores (β, 0.45; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.39 to 0.51) and stress scores (β, 0.46; 95% CI, 0.41 to 0.52). Factors associated with increased depression scores included being frontline HCWs (β, 0.57; 95% CI, 0.10 to 1.10), stress scores (β, 0.50; 95% CI, 0.45 to 0.56), and anxiety scores (β, 0.41; 95% CI, 0.36 to 0.47), while working experience was associated with reduced depression scores (β, -0.08; 95% CI, -0.16 to -0.01). Factors associated with increased stress scores included working experience (β, 0.08; 95% CI, 0.00 to 0.16), personal protective equipment interference with daily activities (β, 0.55; 95% CI, 0.07 to 1.00), depression scores (β, 0.54; 95% CI, 0.48 to 0.59), and anxiety scores (β, 0.45; 95% CI, 0.39 to 0.50), while age was associated with reduced stress scores (β, -0.12; 95% CI, -0.20 to -0.05).Conclusions: Specific interventions are necessary to enhance and promote the mental health of HCWs so they can successfully cope with the circumstances of the pandemic.

Objectives: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has increased the workload of healthcare workers (HCWs), impacting their health. This study aimed to assess sleep quality using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and identify factors associated with poor sleep among HCWs in Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 1000 frontline HCWs were recruited from various healthcare facilities in Vietnam between October 2021 and November 2021. Data were collected using a 3-part self-administered questionnaire, which covered demographics, sleep quality, and factors related to poor sleep. Poor sleep quality was defined as a total PSQI score of 5 or higher. Results: Participants' mean age was 33.20±6.81 years (range, 20.0-61.0), and 63.0% were women. The median work experience was 8.54±6.30 years. Approximately 6.3% had chronic comorbidities, such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus. About 59.5% were directly responsible for patient care and treatment, while 7.1% worked in tracing and sampling. A total of 73.8% reported poor sleep quality. Multivariate logistic regression revealed significant associations between poor sleep quality and the presence of chronic comorbidities (odds ratio [OR], 2.34; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.17 to 5.24), being a frontline HCW directly involved in patient care and treatment (OR, 1.59; 95% CI, 1.16 to 2.16), increased working hours (OR, 1.84; 95% CI,1.37 to 2.48), and a higher frequency of encountering critically ill and dying patients (OR, 1.42; 95% CI, 1.03 to 1.95). Conclusions: The high prevalence of poor sleep among HCWs in Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic was similar to that in other countries. Working conditions should be adjusted to improve sleep quality among this population.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Beside silicon nitride, silicon rich SiO<I>x</I> is a good charge storage material for the charge trap type of nonvolatile memory due to the high density of the charge traps. In this study, the charge storage ability of various amorphous SiO<I>x</I> materials has been investigated. By controlling the ratio of N2O/SiH4 gases from a 1:6 to a 2:1 input gas flow rate, the deposited SiO<I>x</I> bandgap changed from 2.3 to 3.9eV. The charge storage properties of the SiO<I>x</I> system were studied on metal–insulator–semiconductor structures with an insulator stack of SiO2/SiO<I>x</I>/SiO<I>x</I>N<I>y</I> on an n-type silicon wafer. In this structure, the SiO2 was used for the blocking layer and the SiO<I>x</I>N<I>y</I> was used for the tunneling layer. By analyzing the FTIR and the photoluminescence spectra, it is shown that the richest silicon material incorporates numerous non-bridging oxygen hole-center (NBOHC) defect sources and a rich silicon phase in the base material. These defects, as well as the amorphous silicon clusters that exist in the SiO<I>x</I> layer, enhanced the charge storage capacity of the device compared to the oxygen rich SiO<I>x</I> cases. The retention property was optimized by surveying the tunneling thickness of the 2.3, 2.6, 2.9, and 3.2nm SiO<I>x</I>N<I>y</I> layers.</P>

<P>Silicon-rich SiO<I>x</I> material is a good charge storage candidate for memory applications that promise a large memory window and low operation voltage. Nonvolatile memory (NVM) devices fabricated on excimer laser-annealed polysilicon using SiO2/SiO<I>x</I>/SiO<I>x</I>N<I>y</I> (OOxOn) structure are investigated with SiO2 blocking thicknesses changing from 15 to 20 to 30 nm. The Si-rich SiO<I>x</I> material exposed numerous non-bridging oxygen hole-centre defect sources and a rich silicon phase in the base material. These defects, as well as amorphous silicon clusters existing in the SiO<I>x</I> layer, enhance the charge storage capacity of the device. Retention properties were ensured by 3.2 nm SiO<I>x</I>N<I>y</I> tunnelling layer growth via N2O plasma-assisted oxynitridation. NVM characteristics showed a retention exceeding 85% of the threshold voltage shift after 104 s and greater than 70% after 10 years. Depending on the blocking thickness of 15, 20 or 30 nm, operating voltages varied from ±9 to ±13 V at a programming/erasing duration of only 1 ms. These excellent operating properties of the OOxOn structure make it a potential competitor among the new generation of memory structures on glass.</P>

In this paper ultrafine copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) were prepared from copper salt via chemical reduction method with sodium citrate dispersant and polyvinylalcol (PVA) capping polymer. The colloidal CuNPs were characterized by using UV–Visible spectroscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) techniques. Our obtained results indicated that the CuNPs were produced ranging from 2 to 4 nm in diameter. The colloidal solution at 7 ppm of CuNPs exhibited a powerful antifungal activity against Corticium salmonicolor (C. Salmonicolor). Fungal killing assays showed colloid solutions containing 10 ppm of CuNPs killed entirely the cultured fungus. A highly killing activity against the fungus was also performed when the CuNPs were sprayed on pink disease-infected rubber trees. These positive results may offer a great potential to produce CuNPs-based eco-fungicide for pink disease.
