Anh Thi Lan NGUYEN(Anh Thi Lan NGUYEN ),Chau Thi Minh PHAM(Chau Thi Minh PHAM ),Hanh Hong NGUYEN(Hanh Hong NGUYEN ),Dat Ngoc NGUYEN(Dat Ngoc NGUYEN ),Duy Van NGUYEN(Duy Van NGUYEN ) 한국유통과학회 2023 유통과학연구 Vol.21 No.2
Purpose: Research on attracting foreign direct investment plays an important role in ASEAN countries. ASEAN has needed FDI capital for development and integration with many developing countries. Research design, data and methodology: This study is conducted to assess the impact of factors: inflation (INF), economic growth (GDP), population (POP), and trade (TRADE) on attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) of ASEAN countries. The study will find out how factors distribution contributes to FDI attraction. The study collects data from 10 ASEAN countries from 2010 to 2020. With data collected for ten countries from 2010 to 2020, data analysis with panel data will be used in this study. The Regression with Driscoll-Kraay standard errors correction model will be used in the study. Results: Panel data analysis shows that economic growth and population positively impact FDI attraction in ASEAN countries. However, two factors: INF and TRADE, do not affect FDI. Conclusions: Countries need to focus on economic development, create many good conditions for people and domestic enterprises and create opportunities for foreign investors to pay more attention. improving the quality of domestic human resources will help to better improve the working quality factor when the demand for high-quality human resources increases.

Pd-incorporated Zr-based metal–organic framework containing sulfone groups, named Pd(II)BUT-11, wassuccessfully prepared by dispersing the sulfone-functionalized MOF in Pd(OAc)2 solution. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, N2 isotherm sorption, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and thermogravimetricanalysis were applied to determine the features of the Pd-incorporated MOF. In the catalyticstudies, Pd(II)@BUT-11 was shown to be an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for synthesizing various stilbenederivatives via the cross-coupling Heck reaction with DABCO-derived deep eutectic solvent (DES) asa green solvent. Notably, the catalyst and the solvent could be recovered and reused, with their activityand structure remaining stable throughout several trials. The method provides an alternative solution tothe conventional catalysts and solvents, resulting in a green and efficient stilbene synthesis process. Furthermore, the stilbenes were separated by extraction with ethyl acetate due to the low solubility ofDES with this solvent.
Public’s Travel Intention Following COVID-19 Pandemic Constrained: A Case Study in Vietnam
Ngoc Mai NGUYEN,Minh Quyen PHAM,Minh PHAM 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.8
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the tourism industry due to the resulting travel restrictions as well as a slump in demand among travelers. The tourism industry has been massively affected by the spread of coronavirus, as many countries have introduced travel restrictions in an attempt to contain its spread. In Vietnam, the government has largely been credited for the country’s success in keeping COVID-19 transmission rates under control. Early awareness of the pandemic, appropriate, drastic, and people-centric measures, as well as public support, are the main factors behind the success of Vietnam. In that context, it is observed that people’s travel demand has bounced back and this research will examine factors driving the public’s travel intention in the post-crisis (pandemic) period. The survey was conducted on the Internet using questionnaires designed in the Google platform. Data was collected from April 16 to May 31, 2020, from 154 Vietnamese participants. Research findings demonstrate 4 direct and indirect determinants of travel intention. The strongest effects come from perceived behavioral control which is influenced by subjective well-being. Perceived risk negatively correlates with Self-efficacy and subjective well-being. Conducted in the context of post-COVID-19, the research implies that once the pandemic has been controlled, perceived risks, although still exist, insignificantly influence the public’s travel intention.

Efonidipine, a calcium channel blocker, is widely used for the treatment of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. In our preliminary study using structure-based virtual screening, efonidipine was identified as a potential inhibitor of c-Jun N-terminal kinase 3 (JNK3). Although its antihypertensive effect is widely known, the role of efonidipine in the central nervous system has remained elusive. The present study investigated the effects of efonidipine on the inflammation and cell migration induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) using murine BV2 and human HMC3 microglial cell lines and elucidated signaling molecules mediating its effects. We found that the phosphorylations of JNK and its downstream molecule c-Jun in LPS-treated BV2 cells were declined by efonidipine, confirming the finding from virtual screening. In addition, efonidipine inhibited the LPS-induced production of pro-inflammatory factors, including interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and nitric oxide. Similarly, the IL-1β production in LPS-treated HMC3 cells was also inhibited by efonidipine. Efonidipine markedly impeded cell migration stimulated by LPS in both cells. Furthermore, it inhibited the phosphorylation of inhibitor kappa B, thereby suppressing nuclear translocation of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) in LPS-treated BV2 cells. Taken together, efonidipine exerts anti-inflammatory and anti-migratory effects in LPS-treated microglial cells through inhibition of the JNK/NF-κB pathway. These findings imply that efonidipine may be a potential candidate for drug repositioning, with beneficial impacts on brain disorders associated with neuroinflammation.
Rheological properties of yam mucilage
Minh Nguyen Ngoc 한국유변학회 2023 Korea-Australia rheology journal Vol.35 No.4
Yam is a vegetable that is widely grown around the world. Yam mucilage contains a high mucin concentration that can be useful for supporting the swallowing process. Although the shear and extensional rheology of yam mucilage is essential to its flow, they have not received much attention. Using a commercial rheometer and a filament stretching rheometer, the rheological properties of the mucilage in yam were examined. Yam mucilage exhibits shear-thinning behavior and viscoelastic behavior. In addition, yam mucilage also exhibits stretching phenomena and shows high extensional viscosity. However, the elasticity of yam mucilage decreased when the shear increased. The extensional rheological behavior of the yam mucilage can be predicted by two models, including the Giesekus model and global function. However, the agreement between the model and the experimental data decreases gradually when the Hencky strain increases, even though the model can predict the shear viscosity data well.
Reduced-Pipelined Duty Cycle MAC Protocol (RP-MAC) for Wireless Sensor Network
( Ngoc Minh Nguyen ),( Myung Kyun Kim ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2017 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.11 No.5
Recently, the pipeline-forwarding has been proposed as a new technique to resolve the end-to-end latency problem of the duty-cycle MAC protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Some protocols based on this technique such as PMAC and PRI-MAC have shown an improvement not only in terms of reducing end-to-end latency but also in terms of reducing power consumption. In these protocols, however, the sensor nodes still waste a significant amount of energy for unnecessary idle listening during contention period of upstream nodes to check the channel activity. This paper proposes a new pipeline-forwarding duty-cycle MAC protocol, named RP-MAC (Reduced Pipelined duty-cycle MAC), which tries to reduce the waste of energy. By taking advantage of ACK mechanism and shortening the handshaking procedure, RP-MAC minimizes the time for checking the channel and therefore reduces the energy consumption due to unnecessary idle listening. When comparing RP-MAC with the existing solution PRI-MAC and RMAC, our QualNet-based simulation results show a significant improvement in term of energy consumption.

This study performed phytochemical and bioactiveassessments of the mangrove Lumnitzera racemosaWilld. leaves. Bioassay-guided fractionation of the methanolicextracts led to the identification of thirty-six compounds(1–36), their structures were elucidated using detailed NMRspectroscopic and MS analysis. The extracts, fractions, andthe isolated compounds were screened for potential antioxidantand cytotoxic activities. Antioxidant assays wereperformed using peroxyl radical-scavenging and reducingassays, whereas cytotoxicity was measured using MTTassays in HL-60 and Hel-299 cell lines. The methanolicextract, CH2Cl2 and n-BuOH fractions (10.0 lg/mL)exhibited potent antioxidant activity, with Trolox equivalent(TE) values of 24.94 ± 0.59, 28.34 ± 0.20, and27.09 ± 0.37 (lM), respectively. In addition, the isolatedcompounds exerted cytotoxic effects in a dose-dependentmanner; compounds 1 and 14 exhibited the most potentcytotoxicity in HL-60 cells, with IC50 values of 0.15 ± 0.29and 0.60 ± 0.16 lM, respectively. To clarify the mechanism(s) behind these cytotoxic effects, we measured thetime-dependent changes in apoptotic markers including thecondensation and fragmentation of nuclear chromatin, andthe downregulation of p-ERK1/2, p-AKT, and c-Myc levels.
