Effects of tetrachloro-[bis(2-chloroethyl) ethylene-diamine-N,N'] platinum(IV), PtCl₄(2-CEen) and cisplatin on natural killer(NK) cell activity of spleen cells were investigated. To compare NK cell activity by PtCl₄(2-CEen) with that by cisplatin, male ICR mice received a single i.p. injection at the respective LD_(50) of cisplatin and PtCl₄(2-CEen), namely 20% LD_(50)(3.3mg/kg and 24.5mg/kg, respectively) or 40% LD_(50)(6.6mg/kg and 49mg/kg, respectively). Both cisplatin and PtCl₄(2-CEen) showed significant and dose-dependent enhancement of NK cytotoxicity against YAC-1 cells. PtCl₄(2-CEen) enhanced NK cell activity slightly more at low dose than cisplatin, but at high dose cisplatin showed slightly higher cytotoxicity.

차세대 웹 환경을 위한 시맨틱 웹에 대한 관심이 날로 증대되고 있다. 이와 더불어 시맨틱 웹에서 자원의 의미적인 관계를 표현하기 위한 언어들에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행중이다. 특히 이러한 연구의 시작점으로 RDF, DAML+OIL 같은 여러 온톨로지 언어들이 등장하였지만 자원의 특성에 대한 기술이나 그들간의 관계에 대한 정의를 명확하게 표현하기에는 미흡한 점이 많다. 그러나 최근에 제안된 OWL은 RDF나 RDF 스키마를 확장하여 보다 의미있는 자원의 관계를 정의할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 OWL로 표현된 문서를 저장하기 위한 구조를 관계형 데이터베이스를 기반으로 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 저장 구조는 기존의 RDF와 RDF 스키마를 위한 저장 구조를 확장하여, OWL을 통해 제공되는 클래스나 속성간의 동일성, 또는 이질성, 여러 클래스의 집합 관계 등의 추가적 기능을 지원하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 또한 제안한 저장구조를 이용한 OWL 문서의 질의 형태를 분석하고 이를 기존 RQL을 이용하여 표현하기 위해 OWL의 특성을 반영하도록 RQL을 확장했다.

The patent application relating to functional foods is increasing steadily in recent years, and regard to functional foods, use invention of food get more and more important. So description of patent specification and patentability requirements for protecting use invention of foods by patent right has been studied based on case, at this paper. Functional foods is defined as any food or food ingredient that has a positive impact on an individual’s health, physical performance or state of mind, in addition to its nutritive value. The functional foods and drugs make a considerable difference in direct efficacy of disease, but have a lot in common use in useful function of health. Accordingly use invention relating to functional foods is safeguarded by patent right. In other words, the use invention of foods is that invention of the use of food ingredients in the food to the purpose of specific areas with specific properties are invented. The patent claims of the use invention of foods should be clear as a specific use of food, and that use should be supported fully by the detailed description. However, unlike the use invention of medicines, detailed description of the use invention of foods is not necessarily writtened specific result, drug effect data, and so on. And the use invention of foods is patentable in case that the use of foods supported by specification is novel and superior to public technology Qualitatively or quantitatively. However, in order to actively protect that the specific properties of the food ingredients used for the specific purpose, the introduction of “use claim” will be considered.

Both the introduction of the Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (RPS) system into the electric energy market in 2012 and a decrease in the cost of constructing photovoltaic (PV) power plants have been increasing the number of MW PV plants in South Korea. Jeju Island is located at the center of three nations, South Korea, China and Japan, and its provincial government declared in 2012 that the island will be a clean region where greenhouse gases are not emitted by 2030. The Jeju provincial government is now doing its best to install PV plants and wind farms to realize a carbon-free island. In this study we investigated contribution of MW PV plants to the power of the electric grid during summer peak times on Jeju Island. Mt. Halla the highest mountain in South Korea, is located at the center of Jeju Island, and we divided the island into four regions and carried out analyses of a total of 24 PV plants. The average contribution of the PV plants in the respective region to electric power of Jeju Island during summer peak times was investigated and compared with those of the other regions. The best average contribution during the 12.5% maximum load period was obtained from the PV plants in the western region, and the value was 33% during 2015 and 2016.

Although standardized lights and sound signals have been in use for long time, and radar other electronic aids have come into importance in recent decades, the marine collision is still a phenomenon of frequent incidence, and the litigation resulting from it continues to come to court in volume. This paper deals with a judgment which the Korean Supreme Court rendered in respect of a maritime case on the issue of liability of collision of ships. This article refered to responsibility of ship owner's when the ship collided at sea. The Korean Supreme Court sentences about collision with ships in the maritime case. That is key point a problem on the Limitation of Shipowner's Liability. The Supreme Court rendered a verdict on limitation of shipowner's liability when the ships collide. therefore this article treats of all about collision of ships in Korean Commercial Law. So writer inspects of source of Law and finally agrees with the conclusion of the court and the writer express his opinion on the case.

Oreorchis coreana Finet is threatened globally by over-collection from its natural habitats for horticultural purposes. Its rarity in nature makes this plant one of the most endangered species in Korea. In this study, we investigated the effects of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) on orchid seed viability and seed germination. An in vitro bioassay swelling test using immature seeds was compared with a standard chemical procedure using triphenyl tetrazolium chloride (TTC) to test seed viability. In general, the bioassay was more appropriate for estimating embryo viability after a prolonged pre-treatment (more than 1 h) in 1% NaOCl, a surface sterilant often used to enhance germination of seeds of terrestrial plants. Therefore, an efficient method for investigating in vitro swelling of immature seeds is urgently needed. We established a method for determining the viability and swelling of O. coreana seeds via in vitro examination of immature seeds. Treatment of immature seeds with 1% NaOCl for 10 min greatly enhanced the extent of swelling of immature zygote embryos when compared to untreated seeds. These data obtained here appear to be comparable to viability and swelling that occurs in O. coreana seeds via asymbiotic germination.

<P>The introduction of fluorine (F) atoms onto conjugated polymer backbone has verified to be an effective way to enhance the overall performance of polymer-based bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells, but the underlying working principles are not yet fully uncovered. As our attempt to further understand the impact of F, herein we have reported two novel fluorinated analogues of PCDTBT, namely, <B>PCDTFBT</B> (1F) and <B>PCDT2FBT</B> (2F), through inclusion of either one or two F atoms into the benzothiadiazole (BT) unit of the polymer backbone and the characterization of their physical properties, especially their performance in solar cells. Together with a profound effect of fluorination on the optical property, nature of charge transport, and molecular organization, F atoms are effective in lowering both the HOMO and LUMO levels of the polymers without a large change in the energy bandgaps. <B>PCDTFBT</B>-based BHJ solar cell shows a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 3.96 % with high open-circuit voltage (<I>V</I><SUB>OC</SUB>) of 0.95 V, mainly due to the deep HOMO level (−5.54 eV). To the best of our knowledge, the resulting <I>V</I><SUB>OC</SUB> is comparable to the record <I>V</I><SUB>OC</SUB> values in single junction devices. Furthermore, to our delight, the best <B>PCDTFBT</B>-based device, prepared using 2 % v/v diphenyl ether (DPE) additive, reaches the PCE of 4.29 %. On the other hand, doubly-fluorinated polymer <B>PCDT2FBT</B> shows the only moderate PCE of 2.07 % with a decrease in <I>V</I><SUB>OC</SUB> (0.88 V), in spite of the further lowering of the HOMO level (−5.67 eV) with raising the number of F atoms. Thus, our results highlight that an improvement in efficiency by tuning the energy levels of the polymers by means of molecular design can be expected only if their truly optimized morphologies with fullerene in BHJ systems are materialized.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/aamick/2014/aamick.2014.6.issue-10/am500891z/production/images/medium/am-2014-00891z_0010.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/am500891z'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>
