The Role of Small and Medium Enterprises in Achieving Economic Goals of the Vision of Saudi Arabia 2030

Mohammed Ali Mohamed Ahmed ALI(Mohammed Ali Mohamed Ahmed ALI ),Ahmed Saied Rahama ABDALLAH(Ahmed Saied Rahama ABDALLAH ),SalimAhmed Mohamed AlSHEHRI(SalimAhmed Mohamed AlSHEHRI ) 한국유통과학회 2023 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.10 No.2

This research aims to identify the role that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can play in achieving the economic goals of the vision of Saudi Arabia 2030. The study relied on descriptive analysis, designing a standard model, and analyzing it using the Eviews9 program. The study also adopted the questionnaire as a tool for data collection. The study area covered Alkharj and Hawtat Bani Tamim governorates. The sample size of the study was 142 participants. The study’s results confirmed the existence of a significant impact of changes in independent variables (X1, X2, X3, X4), which are (GDP, non-oil exports, number of employees, and public revenues), respectively. The dependent variable (Y) represents the number of small and medium-sized businesses in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, it was found that 61.3% of small and medium-sized enterprises in the governorates of Al-Kharj and Hawtat Bani Tamim operate in the commercial sector. Most study participants concur that SMEs significantly lowered the unemployment rate and helped boost the GDP rate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The obstacles and difficulties facing the establishment of these enterprises were financial problems, marketing problems, and corporate monopoly. Furthermore, most of the small and medium l enterprises faced financing problems.

      • A Comparative Study of Energy Consumption Sources for Wireless Sensor Networks

Mohammed AboZahhad,Mohammed Farrag,Abdelhay Ali 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.8 No.3

With the development of MEMS and CMOS technologies, the implementation of a huge number of wireless distributed micro-sensors that can be simply and rapidly deployed to form highly redundant, self-configuring, and ad hoc sensor networks. Sensor nodes are generally battery- devices, the critical facets to face concern are how to minimize energy consumption of nodes, so that the lifetime of sensing nodes can be maximized. The first step to achieve this goal is to know completely the sources of energy consumption in wireless sensor networks. In this paper, sources of energy consumption at various communication layers have been studied and investigated. Moreover, the energy consumption for the components of a typical sensor node and the impact of communication protocols stack on the energy consumption are discussed. In the sequel, the sources of energy consumption in each communication layer individually are studied. Then, a survey has been provided for existing energy models and the classification of these models into physical layer, MAC layer and cross-layer energy models.

Examination of Correlations Between Several Biochemical Components and Powdery Mildew Resistance of Flax Cultivars

Aly, Aly A.,Mansour, Mahmoud T. M.,Mohamed, Heba I.,Abd-Elsalam, Kamel A. The Korean Society of Plant Pathology 2012 Plant Pathology Journal Vol.28 No.2

A field trial was conducted in 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 growing seasons at Giza Agricultural Research Station to examine correlations between some biochemical componets and powdery mildews ($PM_s$) resistance in flax cultivars. Nine flax cultivars could be divided into five distinct groups, i.e., highly susceptible (Cortland and C.I. 2008), moderately susceptible (Giza 7, and Marshall), moderately resistant (Cass), resistant (Koto, Dakota and Wilden), and highly resistant (Ottowa 770B). The cultivars showed considerable variation in PM severity ranged from 8.05 on Ottowa 770B to 97.02% on Cortland. Total soluble proteins, total phenols, antioxidant enzymes (peroxidase and polyphenoloxidase), ascorbic acid, tocopherol, and malondialdehyde (MDA), were determined in uninfected leaves of the tested cultivars. Pearson's correlation coefficient was calculated to measure the degree of association between PM severity and each component. All components showed significant (P < 0.05) or highly significant (P < 0.01) negative correlation with PM severity except MDA, which showed positive correlation (P < 0.01). Linear regression analysis was used to evaluate the causal relationship between the biochemical components (independent variables) and PM severity (dependent variable). Coefficient of determination ($R^2$) values of the generated models ranged from 48.76 to 77.15%. Tocopherol, MDA, and proteins were the most important contributors to the total variation in PM severity as the $R^2$ values of their models were 71.78, 75.28, and 77.15%, respectively. The results of the present study suggest that tocopherol, MDA, and proteins in uninfected leaves can be used as biochemical markers to predict PM resistance in flax.

Development of an Infrared Two-color Probe for Particle Cloud Temperature Measurement

( Mohammed Ali Alshaikh Mohammed ),( Ki Seong Kim ) 한국액체미립화학회 2015 한국액체미립화학회지 Vol.20 No.4

The demands for reliable particle cloud temperature measurement exist in many process industries and scientific researches. Particle cloud temperature measurements depend on radiation thermometry at two or more color bands. In this study, we developed a sensitive, fast response and compact online infrared two-color probe to measure the temperature of a particle cloud in a phase of two field flow (solid-gas). The probe employs a detector contained two InGaAs photodiodes with different spectral responses in the same optical path, which allowed a compact probe design. The probe was designed to suit temperature measurements in harsh environments with the advantage of durability. The developed two-color probe is capable of detecting particle cloud temperature as low as 300°C, under dynamic conditions.

Correlation of High Cycle Fatigue Behavior of Circular and Square Reinforced Concrete Columns Subjected to Shear Controlled Cyclic Loading

Ali Ahmed,Ahmed Mohammed Youssef Mohammed,Koichi Maekawa 대한토목학회 2021 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.25 No.5

In current design practice, mostly architectural needs govern the shape of reinforced concrete columns. There is a need to study and compare the load-deflection behavior and failure pattern of high strength reinforced concrete columns of different shapes. This paper presents a correlation between the performance of equivalent area circular and square columns subjected to shear controlled cyclic loading. Square and circular columns with equal cross-sectional area were experimentally tested in this research. Experimental results show that the maximum load, number of loading cycles and maximum deflection in case of square and circular columns were found to be close however, the final failure pattern was different. In case of columns without shear stirrups, the square column resisted 6.7% more loading cycles as compared to the circular column. However, the square column showed 19% lesser deflection at ultimate stage. In case of columns with shear stirrups, square column resisted only 9% more loading cycles as compared to circular column and exhibited similar ultimate deflection. The fatigue performance of equivalent area circular and square columns was found to be comparable in shear controlled conditions. However, the final failure pattern of circular columns shifted from shear to flexure near final failure.

Therefore, the study recommends tracking students academically to evaluate their results of each semester to find out the causes of the deficiencies and addressing them within the departments.

      • Identification of Three-Parameter Models in the Presence of Non-zero Initial Condition

        Mohammed Sowket Ali,Jun-Sung Lee,Young-Il Lee 제어로봇시스템학회 2010 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2010 No.10

This paper provides an identification method for three-parameter models i.e. first order with dead time models (FODT) and second order with dead time (SODT) models. The proposed identification method is based on step response and can be easily implemented using digital microprocessors. The proposed method first identifies the order of the plant i.e. first order or second order from the behavior of the plant with constant input. After the order of the plant is determined, a test step input is applied to the system and the three parameters of the plant are obtained from the corresponding response of the plant. The output of the plant need not to be zero when the test signal is applied. The efficacy of proposed algorithms is verified through simulation.

The Impact of Leadership Styles Among UAE Municipalities Employees

Mohammed Hariri Bakri(Mohammed Hariri Bakri ),Abdulla Ali Al Mazrouei(Abdulla Ali Al Mazrouei ),Albert Feisal Ismail(Albert Feisal Ismail ),Mohamad Idham Md Razak(Mohamad Idham Md Razak ),Geraldine De People&Global Business Association 2023 Global Business and Finance Review Vol.28 No.4

Purpose: This research examines the impact of four leadership behavior styles; directive, supportive, participative, and achievement-oriented. These four leadership behavior styles are retrieved from the Path goal theory, which considers the employee motivation determinants by the expectancy theory. Design/methodology/approach: The association between the leadership styles and behaviors suggested by the Path goal theory with employee motivation lacks the role of the entrepreneurial mindset factor, which stands on the thinking that enables the employee to overcome challenges, be decisive, and accept responsibility. This research tests the mediation effect of the entrepreneurial mindset factor to fill this gap and contributes significantly to the knowledge of leadership behavior styles. The study also validates the proposed conceptual framework using structural equations modeling, then uses smart PLS with the data collected from 341 employees from the UAE municipalities to test the constructed hypotheses of this research. Findings: The finding of this research revealed a positive and significant relationship between achievement-oriented style and employee motivation in the municipalities of the UAE, a positive and significant relationship between entrepreneurial mindset and employee motivation in the municipalities of the UAE, a positive and significant relationship between participative style and employee motivation in the municipalities of the UAE and positive and significant relationship between supportive style and employee motivation in the municipalities of the UAE. The mediation effect of the entrepreneurial mindset factor, there was a mediation of entrepreneurial mindset for the relationship between directive style and employee motivation. There is no mediation of entrepreneurial mindset for the relationship between achievement-oriented style and employee motivation, no mediation of entrepreneurial mindset for the relationship between participative style and employee motivation, and no mediation of entrepreneurial mindset for the relationship between supportive style and employee motivation. Research limitations/implications: The employees must be appreciated verbally or in writing for their activities in the municipalities to increase their powers and responsibilities and to provide training and career development opportunities. These are the primary leadership motivational factors that provide employees with psychological and social support rather than economic benefit. It can be stated that psycho-social motivation ties employees more. The findings can assist managers in determining which type of leadership style is most suitable in terms of outcomes, as well as how they can adjust their leadership styles to make them more successful and result-oriented. Originality/value: This research can be the first local empirical research to evaluate the organization's performance relationship between leadership behavior styles and the UAE municipality employees' motivation through an entrepreneurial mindset.

Achievement of geothermal energy using ground heat exchanger in Ma’en

Mohammed Awwad Ali Al-Dabbas 대한기계학회 2011 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.25 No.8

Geothermal energy in Jordan is a low-emission and renewable source that could provide households and commercial buildings with heating and cooling. Access to this 'free' energy may be available just a few feet underground. Thus, the objectives of this research are designing a ground heat exchanger that utilizes geothermal energy in heating to exchange the primary geothermal fluid with a secondary clean fluid, determining the feasibility of designing a ground heat exchanger system to pump geothermal energy under the weather conditions of the Ma`en area in Jordan and calculating the amount of energy saved. The design procedure involves applying energy and momentum equations around the geothermal fluid circuit. The FLUENT software program is used to calculate the ground heat exchanger parameters and the amount of energy saved. Finally, the feasibility study shows that the Geoexchange systems represent a savings to homeowners of around 70% in the heating mode, and up to 50% in the cooling mode compared to conventional fossil fuel systems.
