<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We demonstrate that, through formation of Zn<SUB>1−x</SUB>Mg<SUB>x</SUB>O nanocrystal solid solution (NCSS) coupled with lead sulfide (PbS) nanocrystal (NC) of different size, optoelectronic properties of a donor-acceptor energy harvesting assembly can be probed and tuned. In the ITO/PEDOT:PSS/PbS/Zn<SUB>1−x</SUB>Mg<SUB>x</SUB>O/Al arrangement as a photovoltaic test probe, simultaneous tuning of Zn<SUB>1−x</SUB>Mg<SUB>x</SUB>O NC solid solution (NCSS) and PbS NC in a narrow range in the energy levels is achieved altering the open circuit voltage and the short circuit current as measures of donor/acceptor interfacial electronic properties. With the Mg composition increasing, the energy band gap of the Zn<SUB>1−x</SUB>Mg<SUB>x</SUB>O NCSS (acceptor) increases with its conduction band edge becoming closer to the lowest occupied molecular orbital level of the PbS NC (donor), increasing splitting of quasi-Fermi energy levels in the electron donor/acceptor assembly under illumination. More amount of Mg in the NCSS leads to transition from an energy level limited regime to a trap-induced charge transport limited regime, evidenced by a simultaneous decrease in the open circuit voltage and the short circuit current. This new finding provides insights of trade-off between the energy level off-set and the trap-induced charge transport degradation in engineering interfacial charge transfer and transport via formation of NCSS in integrating modern electronic devices.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Simultaneous tuning of Zn<SUB>1−x</SUB>Mg<SUB>x</SUB>O NCSS and PbS NC in a narrow range is achieved. </LI> <LI> Formation of NCSS at a very narrow range has a dramatic effect on the interfacial properties. </LI> <LI> Subtle amount of doping in the NCSS leads to transition from an energy level limited to a transport limited regime. </LI> </UL> </P>

The objective of this paper is to present the development of an efficient multi-body model to predict fluctuating reaction forces at supporting bearings. Major noise and vibration in a worm gear reducer system takes place due to the axis misalignment and unsteady motor power supply. In addition, noise and vibration are also related to the torsional deformation of a shaft. The dynamic interactions among input/output shafts with an equivalent stiffness, contacting worm and gear, and bearings, were considered in the flexible multi-body model. and the fluctuating reactive forces on bearings were calculated. The fluctuation force on supporting bearings due to misalignment of axes is a major factor for the noise and vibration of a worm gear reducer.

The objective of this paper is to present the development of an efficient multi-body model to predict the noise radiated from manual gearboxes due to gear rattle using multi-body dynamics. Major noises in a gear driving system are rattle and whine due to transmission error and backlash. These noises are related to the torsional deformation of a transmission shaft. The dynamic interactions among the gearbox components including a flywheel, input/output shafts with an equivalent stiffness, contacting gear-pairs, and bearings, are considered in modeling by flexible multi-body techniques to account for shaft torsion. Fluctuating forces on a gear driving system were calculated by the reactive forces on bearings and were applied to predict more accurate rattle conditions in a frequency domain.

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to effect balance according to various recovery techniques after Harvard step test-induced muscle fatigue in male college students. METHODS Twenty male college students(22.20±2.06 yrs, 177.80±4.28 cm, 77.50±4.28 kg) participated in the study, and their static balance and dynamic balance(Humac balance system) were measured after inducing lower extremity muscular fatigue using Harvard step test. Muscle fatigue was treated in the following order: no treatment in the 1st week, stretching in the 2nd week, icing therapy in the 3rd week, and sports massage in the 4th week, and then post-test was performed in the same manner as the pre-test. RESULTS In the case of static balance, path length on eye opened-foam was a significant difference in interaction effect between the group and time(p<0.001). Also, average velocity on eye opened-foam was a significant difference in interaction effect between the group and time(p<0.001). Dynamic balance was no a significant difference to recovery techniques(stretching, icing therapy, and sports massage). CONCLUSIONS Various recovery techniques such as stretching, icing, and sports massage after the Harvard step test-induced muscle fatigue in male college students did not affect balance. In future research, it is crucial to enhance the scope of the target group, various methods of inducing muscle fatigue, and identify the effects of recovery techniques.

The objective of this paper is to present the development and the application of an efficient flexible multi-body dynamic model to predict fluctuating contacting loads on the surfaces of two meshing gears and their accurate rattling impact forces when unloaded, which fluctuate within tooth backlash at each gear stage due to the irregular combustion torque of internal combustion engines, and resulting noise radiated from manual gearboxes due to the gear rattle using ADAMS. Three types of approaches were performed and compared: modeling the gear and shaft as a full rigid-body: using a flexible shaft based on FEA; the substitution of a shaft to many torsion springs. The method of the torsion springs were shown to be very efficient. The computation time was reduced and the accuracy was almost the same as that of a flexible shaft based on FEA.

개인주의의 심화와 1 인가구에 대한 인식 변화로 인해 싱글족의 수가 증가하면서 그들의 식문화가 주목 받고 있다. 하지만 최근 외부음식에 대한 불신과 웰빙에 대한 관심이 함께 나타나면서 다양한 음식을 먹고 싶은 욕구와 집에서의 간편한 요리를 원하는 욕구가 동시에 상충하게 되었다. 이에 새로운 해결점을 찾아야 하는 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 싱글 소비자들의 이러한 트렌드와 니즈를 반영하여 다양한 레시피를 제공하고 양념배합을 통해 손쉽게 요리를 구현할 수 있도록 하는 데이터 요리 디바이스와 서비스를 제안한다. 뿐만 아니라 서비스가 가지는 가치와 앞으로의 방향에 맞는 시나리오를 제시하고자 한다. As individualism is intensified and perceptions on single-person households change, the number of single people is increasing and their dietary culture is gaining attention. However, as people grow more suspicious of food outside and more interested in ‘well-being’, they are faced with a situation where they need to find a new solution which will enable them to eat various kinds of food and cook easily and conveniently at home. In this study, I will take into consideration this trend in single consumers and their needs to propose a new device and service which helps people cook easily by providing various recipes and mixing sauces. Also, I would like to suggest the value of this service and a possible scenario.

Background: Many patients with glaucoma have difficulty using antiglaucoma eye drops because of dry eye symptom. In this prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, we evaluated the effect of Korean Red Ginseng on dry eye syndrome in patients with glaucoma treated with antiglaucoma eye drops. Methods: Forty-nine participants were allocated to the Korean Red Ginseng (3 g/day; n = 24) or placebo (n = 25) groups for 8 weeks. Tear film stability, fluorescein corneal staining, conjunctival hyperemia, tear production, grade of meibomian gland dysfunction, and dry eye questionnaire (Ocular Surface Disease Index) were evaluated at baseline and on completion of the treatment. Results: Almost all patients displayed dry eye symptoms and signs at baseline. After the 8-week intervention, Korean Red Ginseng supplementation significantly improved the tear film stability and total Ocular Surface Disease Index score, as compared to placebo (p < 0.01). Conclusion: Korean Red Ginseng supplementation may provide an additional treatment option for dry eye and patients with glaucoma using antiglaucoma eye drops.
