A Single-Arm Phase II Study of Nab-Paclitaxel Plus Gemcitabine and Cisplatin for Locally Advanced or Metastatic Biliary Tract Cancer

        Ting Liu,Qing Li,Zhen Lin,Chunhua Liu,Wei Pu,Shasha Zeng,Jun Lai,Xuebin Cai,Lisha Zhang,Shuyang Wang,Miao Chen,Wei Cao,Hongfeng Gou,Qing Zhu 대한암학회 2024 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.56 No.2

Purpose Patients with advanced biliary tract cancer (BTC) have a poor survival. We aim to evaluate the efficacy and safety of nab-paclitaxel plus gemcitabine and cisplatin regimen in Chinese advanced BTC patients.Materials and Methods Eligible patients with locally advanced or metastatic BTC administrated intravenous 100 mg/m2 nab-paclitaxel, 800 mg/m2 gemcitabine, and 25 mg/m2 cisplatin every 3 weeks. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival (PFS). The secondary endpoints included overall survival (OS) and adverse events, while exploratory endpoint was the association of biomarkers with efficacy. Results After the median follow-up of 25.0 months, the median PFS and OS of 34 enrolled patients were 7.1 months (95% confidence interval [CI], 5.4 to 13.7) and 16.4 months (95% CI, 10.9 to 23.6), respectively. The most common treatment-related adverse events at ≥ 3 grade were neutropenia (26.5%) and leukopenia (26.5%). Survival analyses demonstrated that carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) levels could monitor patients’ survival outcomes. A significant increase in the number of infiltrating CD4+ cells (p=0.008) and a decrease in programmed death-1–positive (PD-1+) cells (p=0.032) were observed in the response patients. Conclusion In advanced BTC patients, nab-paclitaxel plus gemcitabine and cisplatin regimen showed therapeutic potential. Potential prognostic factors of CEA levels, number of CD4+ cells and PD-1+ cells may help us maximize the efficacy benefit.

Trichel Pulse in Negative DC Corona discharge and Its Electromagnetic Radiations

        Zhang, Yu,Liu, Li-Juan,Miao, Jin-Song,Peng, Zu-Lin,Ouyang, Ji-Ting The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2015 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.10 No.3

We investigate in this paper the radiated electromagnetic waves together with the discharge characteristics of Trichel pulse of negative DC corona discharge in air in pin-to-plate and wire-to-plate configurations. The feature of the current pulse and the frequency spectrum of the electromagnetic radiations were measured under various pressures and gas gaps. The results show that the repetition frequency and the amplitude of Trichel pulse current depend on the discharge conditions, but the rising time of the pulse relates only to the radius of needle or wire and keeps constant even if the other conditions (including the discharge current, the gas gap and the gas pressure) change. There exists the characterized spectrum of electromagnetic waves from negative corona discharge in Trichel pulse regime. These characterized radiations do not change their frequency at a given cathode geometry even if the averaged current, the gas gap or the air pressure changes, but the amplitude of radiations changes accordingly. The characterized electromagnetic radiations from Trichel pulse corona relate to the formation or the rising edge of current pulse. It confirms that the characterized radiations from Trichel pulse supply information of discharge system and provide a potential method for detecting charged targets.

Synergistic effect of Cu and Ru decoration on g-C3N4 for electrocatalytic CO2 reduction

Chechia Hu,Miao-Ting Liu,Arisu Sakai,Masaaki Yoshida,Kun-Yi Andrew Lin,Chun-Chieh Huang 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.115 No.-

Electrocatalytic CO2 reduction is an emerging approach for the reduction of CO2 in a feasible, green, andeffective manner. In this study, bimetallic compounds of Cu and Ru were both decorated onto ap-conjugated g-C3N4 surface (CuxRuyCN), which functioned as an electrode for electrochemical CO2reduction. From the X-ray photoelectron and X-ray absorption spectra, Cu and Ru on CuxRuyCN wereidentified as the oxidative states of CuO/Cu2O and RuO2, respectively. The mixed states of CuO andCu2O served as active sites to both adsorb and activate CO2 for effective reduction, while RuO2synergistically served as the hole-enrichment center and transferred H protons to promote CO2 reduction. Consequently, the electrochemical current density of CuxRuyCN was significantly enhanced comparedwith the corresponding densities of CN or Cu-doped CN. The current density of CuxRuyCN reduced to lessthan 0.05 mA cm2 at an applied voltage of 1.5 V in an air or Ar atmosphere, indicating that the highcurrent density of CuxRuyCN was associated with the flow of CO2 and its reduction. Moreover, the currentdensity of CuxRuyCN was maintained at approximately 0.3 mA cm2 for at least 2000 s at an appliedvoltage of 1.4 V (vs Ag/AgCl), indicating its high stability during CO2 reduction. In summary, both Cuand Ru-modified g-C3N4 samples used to produce CuO/Cu2O- and RuO2-decorated g-C3N4 acted as effectivecatalysts for electrocatalytic CO2 reduction and demonstrated several potential electrochemicalapplications.
