The AVS/RS Scheduling Optimization Based on Improved AFSA

Yanjun Fang,Meng Tang 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Control and Automation Vol.7 No.10

This paper addresses the problem of the autonomous vehicle storage and retrieval system (AVS/RS) scheduling optimization. AVS/RS relies on rail guide vehicle (RGV) to provide horizontal movement within a tier and uses lifts to provide vertical movement between tiers. Firstly, the process of RGVs’ compound operation is analyzed, and the corresponding mathematical model is established. Then, an improved artificial fish swarm algorithm (IAFSA) is proposed to solve the model. According to the characteristics of the storage and retrieval operation in the system, an encoding and decoding method is designed, which contains RGV task allocation and elevator selection information. The tabu list and the optimal strategy are introduced into this algorithm, coupled with memory action and communication action to avoid the algorithm to trap in local optimal solution. Meanwhile, the adaptive step and visual are used to increase the late convergence of this algorithm. Finally, simulations based on the concrete living example of AVS/RS in a provincial verification center are given. The results obtained by the proposed algorithm are compared with another two optimization algorithm. Analysis shows that the proposed algorithm has the characteristics of fast convergence and the best solution, so as to improve the practicality and robustness of the algorithm.

PM2.5 in poultry houses synergizes with Pseudomonas aeruginosa to aggravate lung inflammation in mice through the NF-κB pathway

        Meng Li,Xiuli Wei,Youzhi Li,Tao Feng,Linlin Jiang,Hongwei Zhu,Xin Yu,Jinxiu Tang,Guozhong Chen,Jianlong Zhang,Xingxiao Zhang 대한수의학회 2020 Journal of Veterinary Science Vol.21 No.3

Background: High concentrations of particulate matter less than 2.5 µm in diameter (PM2.5) in poultry houses is an important cause of respiratory disease in animals and humans. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic pathogen that can induce severe respiratory disease in animals under stress or with abnormal immune functions. When excessively high concentrations of PM2.5 in poultry houses damage the respiratory system and impair host immunity, secondary infections with P. aeruginosa can occur and produce a more intense inflammatory response, resulting in more severe lung injury. Objectives: In this study, we focused on the synergistic induction of inflammatory injury in the respiratory system and the related molecular mechanisms induced by PM2.5 and P. aeruginosa in poultry houses. Methods: High-throughput 16S rDNA sequence analysis was used for characterizing the bacterial diversity and relative abundance of the PM2.5 samples, and the effects of PM2.5 and P. aeruginosa stimulation on inflammation were detected by in vitro and in vivo. Results: Sequencing results indicated that the PM2.5 in poultry houses contained a high abundance of potentially pathogenic genera, such as Pseudomonas (2.94%). The lung tissues of mice had more significant pathological damage when co-stimulated by PM2.5 and P. aeruginosa, and it can increase the expression levels of interleukin (IL)-6, IL-8, and tumor necrosis factor-α through nuclear factor (NF)-κB pathway in vivo and in vitro. Conclusions: The results confirmed that poultry house PM2.5 in combination with P. aeruginosa could aggravate the inflammatory response and cause more severe respiratory system injuries through a process closely related to the activation of the NF-κB pathway.

      • Effects of Allogeneic Blood Transfusion in Patients with Stage II Colon Cancer

        Meng, Jin,Lu, Xiao-Bo,Tang, Yuan-Xin,Sun, Gong-Ping,Li, Xin,Yan, Yi-Fei,Liang, Gao-Feng,Ma, Si-Ping,Li, Xiao-Xia Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.1

The aim of the present study was to determine whether allogeneic red blood cell transfusions showed a deleterious effect and what might be preoperative risk factors for blood transfusion in patients with TNM stage II colon cancer. Total 470 patients who fulfilled inclusion criteria were selected for a further 10-year follow-up study. We found that there were statistical significance between non-transfused and transfused group in mortality (P=0.018), local recurrence (P=0.000) and distant metastasis (P=0.040). Local recurrence and distant metastasis between 1 to 3 units and more than 3 units group did not show any significant differences. There was no difference in survival rate between non-transfused and 1 to 3 units group (log rank=0.031, P=0.860). The difference between different blood transfusion volume in transfused patients was found (78.77% vs 63.83%, P=0.006). Meanwhile, the significant difference of survival rate was existed between non-transfused group and more than 3 units group (84.83% vs 63.83%, P=0.002 ). Univariate analysis showed the following 3 variables to be associated with an increased risk of allogeneic blood transfusions: preoperative CEA level (P<0.05), location of tumor (P<0.01) and diameter of tumor (P<0.01). Multivariate analysis revealed that location of tumor and diameter of tumor are two independent factors for requirement of perioperative transfusions. Therefore, allogeneic transfusion increase the postoperative tumor mortality, local recurrence and distant metastasis in patients with stage II colon cancer. The postoperative tumor mortality, local recurrence and distant metastasis were not associated with the blood transfusion volume. The blood transfusion volume was associated with the survival rate. Location of tumor and diameter of tumor were the independent preoperative risk factors for blood transfusion.

Economic Optimization Operation Approach of Integrated Energy System Considering Wind Power Consumption and Flexible Load Regulation

        Meng Qinglin,Xu Jing,Ge Leijiao,Wang Zhongguan,Wang Jianxiao,Xu Liang,Tang Zhipeng 대한전기학회 2024 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.19 No.1

Due to the fuctuation of wind power output and the "heat to power" mode in the heating period, the wind abandonment phenomenon in coastal areas in winter is increasingly serious. From the perspective of integrated energy system in coastal areas, this paper frst builds an optimal operation model of integrated energy system in coastal areas with the minimum daily total operating cost and the minimum amount of abandoned wind, and constrains the output condition of the corresponding equipment. Then, the mechanism of the adjustable characteristics of seawater desalination load is analyzed, the adjustment range of seawater desalination load is calculated, and the integrated energy system optimization operation method in coastal areas is designed considering the desalination load. Finally, the winter scene of a coastal area in northern China is taken as an example to conduct simulation verifcation. The results show that the total daily operation cost of the system is reduced by 4.6% and the wind power consumption rate is increased by 2.87% after considering the load regulation efect of seawater desalination, which efectively verifes that the integrated energy system operation strategy designed plays a signifcant role in improving the system operation economy and promoting the consumption of new energy.

      • <i>In Situ</i> Observation and Electrochemical Study of Encapsulated Sulfur Nanoparticles by MoS2 Flakes

        Tang, Wei,Chen, Zhongxin,Tian, Bingbing,Lee, Hyun-Wook,Zhao, Xiaoxu,Fan, Xiaofeng,Fan, Yanchen,Leng, Kai,Peng, Chengxin,Kim, Min-Ho,Li, Meng,Lin, Ming,Su, Jie,Chen, Jianyi,Jeong, Hu Young,Yin, Xuesong American Chemical Society 2017 JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY - Vol.139 No.29

<P>Sulfur is an attractive cathode material for next-generation lithium batteries due to its high theoretical capacity and low cost. However, dissolution of its lithiated product (lithium polysulfides) into the electrolyte limits the practical application of lithium sulfur batteries. Here we demonstrate that sulfur particles can be hermetically encapsulated by leveraging on the unique properties of two-dimensional materials such as molybdenum disulfide (MoS2). The high flexibility and strong van der Waals force in MoS2 nanoflakes allows effective encapsulation of the sulfur particles and prevent its sublimation during <I>in situ</I> TEM studies. We observe that the lithium diffusivities in the encapsulated sulfur particles are in the order of 10–17 m2 s–1. Composite electrodes made from the MoS2-encapsulated sulfur spheres show outstanding electrochemical performance, with an initial capacity of 1660 mAh g–1 and long cycle life of more than 1000 cycles.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jacsat/2017/jacsat.2017.139.issue-29/jacs.7b05371/production/images/medium/ja-2017-05371c_0006.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/ja7b05371'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

Octadecyl-Modified Graphene as an Adsorbent for Hollow Fiber Liquid Phase Microextraction of Chlorophenols from Honey

        Meng Sun,Penglei Cui,,Shujing Ji,,Ranxiao Tang,Qiuhua Wu,Chun Wang,Zhi Wang 대한화학회 2014 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.35 No.4

Octadecyl-modified graphene (graphene-C18) was fabricated and used as adsorbent in hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction (HF-LPME) for the first time. The extraction performance of graphene-C18 reinforced HF-LPME was evaluated using chlorophenols as model analytes. The factors affecting the extraction efficiency, such as extraction time, pH of the sample solution, agitation rate, the concentration of graphene-C18 and salt addition were optimized. After the graphene-C18 reinforced HF-LPME of the chlorophenols from honey sample, the analytes were separated and determined by high-performance liquid chromatography. The linearity was observed in the range of 5.0-200.0 ng g−1 for 2-chlorophenol and 3-chlorophenol, and 2.0-200.0 ng g−1 for 2,3-dichlorophenol and 3,4-dichlorophenol, respectively. The limits of detection (S/N = 3) of the method were lower than 1.5 ng g−1. The recoveries of the method were between 88% and 108%. The method is simple, sensitive and has been resoundingly applied to analysis of chlorophenols in honey samples.

United Electromagnetic Characteristics and Online Monitoring Method of Static Air-gap Eccentricity of Turbo-Generator

Tang, Gui-Ji,Ke, Meng-Qiang,He, Yu-Ling,Wang, Fa-Lin The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2016 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.11 No.6

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the united Electromagnetic characteristics for the effective monitoring on the static air-gap eccentricity (SAGE) of turbo-generator. Different from other studies, this paper not only studies on the unbalanced magnetic pull (UMP) and the vibration characteristics of the stator and the rotor, but also investigates the harmonic features of the magnetic flux density and the circulating current inside the parallel branches (CCPB). The theoretical calculation, together with the finite-element-method (FEM) simulation and the experiment verification, is taken for a SDF-9 type non-salient generator. It is shown that, when SAGE occurs, apparent double-frequency UMP and vibrations will be produced both on the stator and the rotor, while the CCPB will have an obvious increment at the $1^{st}$ harmonic component. In addition, the amplitude of the magnetic flux density will be of cosine distribution in the circumferential position of the air-gap, while in normal condition it is a constant. Moreover, the pass-band amplitude, together with the $1^{st}$ harmonic of the magnetic flux density, will be enlarged as well. These united electromagnetic characteristics can be used as the diagnosis and monitoring criterion for SAGE.

      • SERVICE RECOVER TIMING AND COMPENSATION STRATEGIES UNDER DIFFERENT INTENSITIES OF NEGATIVE EMOTIONS

        Xiaofei Tang,En-Chung Chang,Xing Huang,Meng Zhang,Beixi Wen 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2018 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2018 No.07

The current study develops a pair model considering the intensity of negative emotions and strategic combinations of recovery means and timing under hotel service failure scenarios. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the performances of these different combinations through customer satisfaction, repurchase intention, and fitting curves between the two under Chinese hotel service scenarios. Previous studies have found that service failures cause economic losses as well as negative emotional responses from customers (Gr?nroos, 1984; McColl Kennedy and Sparks, 2003). However, customers might display higher satisfaction and purchase intentions when proper service recovery actions are taken instead of when no service failures occur (Smith et al., 1999; McCollough et al., 2000). Concerning the means of service recovery during a service failure, customers in a negative emotional state require specific recovery solutions from the service provider; concerning the timing of service recovery, immediate recovery appears to be an effective way to address customer complaints (Kelley et al., 1993). While, previous research has partially shown that for extremely angry customers, the performance of “as soon as possible” recovery is unsatisfying and may even cause the service recovery to fail (Mattila and Ro, 2008). A 2 (recovery timing: immediate/delayed) × 2 (recovery means: psychological/economic) × 3 (type of service failure: failure in a delivery system/failure in responding to customer needs/improper employee behavior) between-subject experimental design was employed with 456 part-time MBA students in China to examine the relationship between customer satisfaction and repurchase intention under different levels of negative emotion after experienced a service failure. The results suggest that immediate and economic recovery effectively raises the service recovery evaluations from customers with low-intensity negative emotions, whereas delayed and psychological recovery helps customers with high-intensity negative emotions to give higher evaluations. This study sheds light on the role that negative emotions play in the process of service recovery and provides implications for service industry managers, that is the decisions to use economic recovery or psychological recovery are necessitate consider the intensity characteristic of negative emotions, for customers in low-intensity negative emotional states, the immediate and economic recovery strategy is effective, whereas for customers in high-intensity negative emotional states, the delayed and psychological recovery strategy may lead to better outcomes. According to these findings, it is important for managers to train front-line staff to adopt proper recovery strategies to manage service failure when facing consumers with different intensity of negative emotion.

β1,4-Galactosyltransferase V Modulates Breast Cancer Stem Cells through Wnt/β-catenin Signaling Pathway

        Wei Tang,Meng Li,Xin Qi,Jing Li 대한암학회 2020 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.52 No.4

Purpose Breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs) contribute to the initiation, development, and recurrence of breast carcinomas. β1,4-Galactosyltransferase V (B4GalT5), which catalyzes the addition of galactose to GlcNAcβ1-4Man of N-glycans, is involved in embryogenesis. However, its role in the modulation of BCSCs remains unknown. Materials and Methods The relationship between B4GalT5 and breast cancer stemness was investigated by online clinical databases and immunohistochemistry analysis. Mammosphere formation, fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), and in-vivo assays were used to evaluate B4GalT5 expression in BCSCs and its effect on BCSCs. B4GalT5 regulation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling was examined by immunofluorescence and Ricinus communis agglutinin I pull-down assays. Cell surface biotinylation and FACS assays were performed to assess the association of cell surface B4GalT5 and BCSCs. Results B4GalT5, but not other B4GalTs, was highly correlated with BCSC markers and poor prognosis. B4GalT5 significantly increased the stem cell marker aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) and promoted the production of CD44+CD24–/low cells and the formation of mammospheres. Furthermore, B4GalT5 overexpression resulted in dramatic tumor growth in vivo. Mechanistically, B4GalT5 modified and protected Frizzled-1 from degradation via the lysosomal pathway, promoting Wnt/β-catenin signaling which was hyperactivated in BCSCs. B4GalT5, located on the surface of a small subset of breast carcinoma cells, was not responsible for the stemness of BCSCs. Conclusion B4GalT5 modulates the stemness of breast cancer through glycosylation modification to stabilize Frizzled-1 and activate Wnt/β-catenin signaling independent of its cell surface location. Our studies highlight a previously unknown role of B4GalT5 in regulating the stemness of breast cancer and provide a potential drug target for anticancer drug development.
