Reliable Localization for Wireless Sensor Networks in Complex Environments

        Xiaolei Liu,Yongji Ren,Xuguang Xin,Liping Zhang,Jixiang Chen 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Control and Automation Vol.7 No.10

Although localization has been widely studied for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), the complex environments and the large network scale pose severe challenges and make it necessary to develop new reliable localization algorithms. In this paper, we propose a novel Multi-Hop Localization Algorithm for large-scale WSNs in complex environments. This work is based on the consideration that the localization process would encounter several kinds of adverse factors with different nature at the same time (e.g. anisotropic network characteristics, ranging uncertainty, link quality of multihop paths, etc.), which lead to obvious degradation of localization performance. Unlike most of the existing schemes, we transform the localization problem in complex environments into a hybrid constraint satisfaction problem (CSP) which is composed of three different kinds of constraints, i.e. spatial constraint, network situation constraint, and confidence constraint. Set-membership approach and interval analysis method have been utilized to deal with the CSP and determine the positions of sensor nodes. Simulation results show that our scheme is an effective and efficient approach to localization in large-scale WSNs.

MicroRNA-409-3p Inhibits Migration and Invasion of Bladder Cancer Cells via Targeting c-Met

        Xin Xu,Liping Xie,Hong Chen,Yiwei Lin,Zhenghui Hu,Yeqing Mao,Jian Wu,Xianglai Xu,Yi Zhu,Shiqi Li,Xiangyi Zheng 한국분자세포생물학회 2013 Molecules and cells Vol.36 No.1

There is increasing evidence suggesting that dysregulation of certain microRNAs (miRNAs) may con-tribute to tumor progression and metastasis. Previous studies have shown that miR-409-3p is dysregulated in some malignancies, but its role in bladder cancer is still unknown. Here, we find that miR-409-3p is down-regulated in human bladder cancer tissues and cell lines. Enforced expression of miR-409-3p in bladder cancer cells significantly reduced their migration and invasion without affecting cell viability. Bioinformatics analysis identified the pro-metastatic gene c-Met as a potential miR-409-3p target. Further studies indicated that miR-409-3p suppressed the expression of c-Met by binding to its 3-untranslated region. Silencing of c-Met by small interfering RNAs phenocopied the effects of miR-409-3p overexpression, whereas restoration of c-Met in bladder cancer cells bladder cancer cells overexpressing miR-409-3p, partially reversed the suppressive effects of miR-409-3p. We further showed that MMP2 and MMP9 may be downstream effector proteins of miR-409-3p. These findings indicate that miR-409-3p could be a potential tumor suppressor in bladder cancer.

MicroRNA-576-3p Inhibits Proliferation in Bladder Cancer Cells by Targeting Cyclin D1

        Liping Xie,Zhen Liang,Shiqi Li,Xin Xu,Xianglai Xu,Xiao Wang,Jian Wu,Yi Zhu,Zhenghui Hu,Yiwei Lin,Yeqing Mao,Hong Chen,Jindan Luo,Ben Liu,Xiangyi Zheng 한국분자세포생물학회 2015 Molecules and cells Vol.38 No.2

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, endogenous RNAs that play important gene-regulatory roles by binding to the imperfectly complementary sequences at the 3 -UTR of mRNAs and directing their gene expression. Here, we first discovered that miR-576-3p was down-regulated in human bladder cancer cell lines compared with the non-malignant cell line. To better characterize the role of miR-576-3p in bladder cancer cells, we over-expressed or down-regulated miR-576-3p in bladder cancer cells by transfecting with chemically synthesized mimic or inhibitor. The overexpression of miR-576-3p remarkably inhibited cell proliferation via G1-phase arrest, and decreased both mRNA and protein levels of cyclin D1 which played a key role in G1/S phase transition. The knock-down of miR-576-3p significantly promoted the proliferation of bladder cancer cells by accelerating the progression of cell cycle and increased the expression of cyclin D1. Moreover, the dual-luciferase reporter assays indicated that miR-576-3p could directly target cyclin D1 through binding its 3 -UTR. All the results demonstrated that miR-576-3p might be a novel suppressor of bladder cancer cell proliferation through targeting cyclin D1.

Magnetic Field Analysis and Iron Loss Calculation of a Special Switched Reluctance Generator

        Zheng Li,Xin Wang,Liping Zhang,Lei Du,Qunjing Wang 대한전기학회 2019 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.14 No.5

In order to improve the efficiency and flexibility of the switched reluctance generator, a novel deflection double stator switched reluctance generator was proposed based on the structural characteristics of the switched reluctance motor. The magnetic flux of the generator was analyzed by magnetic circuit analysis method, obtaining the matrix expression of the average magnetic flux of the stator and rotor. Then it is transiently simulated by electromagnetic analysis software to calculate the radial and tangential components of the core magnetic density of the generator. At the same time, the calculation results of the finite element method are compared with the results of the analysis method to verify the correctness of the analytical method model. Finally, the calculated magnetic density component is transformed by Fourier transformation to obtain the corresponding harmonic analysis. And the ellipse method was used to calculate the iron loss of the generator, compared with the experimental results to illuminate the accuracy of the iron loss calculation scheme.

Evaluation of Dry Matter Intake and Average Daily Gain Predicted by the Cornell Net Carbohydrate and Protein System in Crossbred Growing Bulls Kept in a Traditionally Confined Feeding System in China

        Du, Jinping,Liang, Yi,Xin, Hangshu,Xue, Feng,Zhao, Jinshi,Ren, Liping,Meng, Qingxiang Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2010 Animal Bioscience Vol.23 No.11

Two separate animal trials were conducted to evaluate the coincidence of dry matter intake (DMI) and average daily gain (ADG) predicted by the Cornell Net Carbohydrate and Protein System (CNCPS) and observed actually in crossbred growing bulls kept in a traditionally confined feeding system in China. In Trial 1, 45 growing Simmental${\times}$Mongolia crossbred F1 bulls were assigned to three treatments (T1-3) with 15 animals in each treatment. Trial 2 was conducted with 60 Limousin${\times}$Fuzhou crossbred F2 bulls allocated to 4 treatments (t1-4). All of the animals were confined in individual stalls. DMI and ADG for each bull were measured as a mean of each treatment. All of the data about animals, environment, management and feeds required by the CNCPS model were collected, and model predictions were generated for animals on each treatment. Subsequently, model-predicted DMI and ADG were compared with the actually recorded results. In the three treatments in Trial 1, 93.3, 80.0 and 73.3% of points fell within the range from -0.4 to 0.4 kg/d for DMI mean bias; similarly, in the four treatments in Trial 2, about 86.7, 73.3, 73.3 and 80.0% of points fell within the same range. These results indicate that the CNCPS model can accurately predict DMI of crossbred bulls in the traditionally confined feeding system in China. There were no significant differences between predicted and observed ADG for T1 (p = 0.06) and T2 (p = 0.09) in Trial 1, and for t1 (p = 0.07), t2 (p = 0.14) and t4 (p = 0.83) in Trial 2. However, significant differences between predicted and observed ADG values were observed for T3 in Trial 1 (p<0.01) and for t3 in Trial 2 (p = 0.04). By regression analysis, a statistically different value of intercept from zero for the regression equation of DMI (p<0.01) or an identical value of ADG (p = 0.06) were obtained, whereas the slopes were significantly different (p<0.01) from unity for both DMI and ADG. Additionally, small root mean square error (RMSE) values were obtained for the unbiased estimator of the two variances (DMI and ADG). Thus, the present results indicated that the CNCPS model can give acceptable estimates of DMI and ADG of crossbred growing bulls kept in a traditionally confined feeding system in China.

<P>We present multi-band results for GRB071010B based on Swift, Suzaku, and ground-based optical observations. This burst is an ideal target to evaluate the robustness of the E-peak(src) - E-iso and E-peak(src) - E-gamma relations, whose studies have been in stagnation due to the lack of the combined estimation of E-peak(src) and long-term optical monitoring. The joint prompt spectral fitting using Swift/Burst Alert Telescope and Suzaku/Wide-band All-sky Monitor data yielded the spectral peak energy as E-peak(src) of 86.5(-6.3)(+6.4) keV and E-iso of 2.25(-0.16)(+0.19) x 10(52) erg with z = 0.947. The optical afterglow light curve is well fitted by a simple power law with temporal index alpha = -0.60 +/- 0.02. The lower limit of temporal break in the optical light curve is 9.8 days. Our multi-wavelength analysis reveals that GRB071010B follows E-peak(src) - E-iso but violates the E-peak(src) - E-gamma and E-iso - E-peak(src) - t(jet)(src) at more than the 3 sigma level.</P>
