Markers and makers of NKT17 cells
Liman Nurcin,Park Jung-Hyun 생화학분자생물학회 2023 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.55 No.-
Invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells are thymus-generated innate-like αβ T cells that undergo terminal differentiation in the thymus. Such a developmental pathway differs from that of conventional αβ T cells, which are generated in the thymus but complete their functional maturation in peripheral tissues. Multiple subsets of iNKT cells have been described, among which IL-17-producing iNKT cells are commonly referred to as NKT17 cells. IL-17 is considered a proinflammatory cytokine that can play both protective and pathogenic roles and has been implicated as a key regulatory factor in many disease settings. Akin to other iNKT subsets, NKT17 cells acquire their effector function during thymic development. However, the cellular mechanisms that drive NKT17 subset specification, and how iNKT cells in general acquire their effector function prior to antigen encounter, remain largely unknown. Considering that all iNKT cells express the canonical Vα14-Jα18 TCRα chain and all iNKT subsets display the same ligand specificity, i.e., glycolipid antigens in the context of the nonclassical MHC-I molecule CD1d, the conundrum is explaining how thymic NKT17 cell specification is determined. Mapping of the molecular circuitry of NKT17 cell differentiation, combined with the discovery of markers that identify NKT17 cells, has provided new insights into the developmental pathway of NKT17 cells. The current review aims to highlight recent advances in our understanding of thymic NKT17 cell development and to place these findings in the larger context of iNKT subset specification and differentiation.

Background: Based on program evaluation conducted at a hypertension primary health care, we found that the major problem of this clinic was lack of medication and control compliance of the patients. The chosen solution to solve this problem was developing an education-oriented control book for hypertensive patients in primary health care. Methods: This qualitative study lasted for nine days in a hypertension primary health care clinic in Central Jakarta, Indonesia. It consisted of six stages: the project design, development of control book, development of communicative educational messages, pretesting, revision, and evaluation by health professionals. Health staffs working at the clinic participated in fi lling the ten-question questionnaire of evaluation for previous control book and education-oriented control book. The mean scores were compared using t-test or Mann-Whitney U test. Discrimination was validated by the area under the curve (AUC) of receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results: The education-oriented control book has 20 pages, 20. 5 cm X 14. 5 cm in size. The second page (after the title page) until the sixth page contains communicative educational messages. The seventh-the nineteenth page consist of patient`s health care records and the last page was for blood pressure chart. From the analysis, we found total mean scores for previous control book and education-oriented control book were 29. 2 ± 1. 64 and 34. 2 ± 1. 64 (p<0. 001). ROC curve analysis showed statistically signifi - cant power of discrimination in education-oriented control book (AUC = 0. 881). Conclusions: The education-oriented control book presented a signifi cant discrimination in our population and has potential for clinical applications as a part of health promotion media in hypertension primary health services.

Background: Diabetic nephropathy is found in 20%-40% of diabetic patients who are mostly type 2 diabetes. Research fi nding out the effectiveness of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) for reducing microalbuminuria incident in type 2 diabetic patient with normoalbuminuria have been published. This evidence based case report (EBCR) will show the search and critical appraisal of those studies. Methods: The search of evidence was done in Pubmed and Cochrane Library database using keywords. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, fi ltering doubles, reading abstract and looking for full text availability: there were two remaining journals which were appraised based on standardized British Medical Journal criteria of validity, importance, and applicability. Results: Of the two meta-analysis, Article written by Hirst JA et al. is valid, important, and applicative for patient`s case. Meanwhile, article written by Vejakama P et al. is valid, but not important and applicative because of studies` heternogenity Conclusions: ACEI reduced microalbuminuria incident by 16% signifi cantly over placebo for type 2 diabetic patients with normoalbuminuria.

The practice of natural colorants for polyester fabric dyeing has been rampantly rising in our consumer fashion. Inthis study, two separate natural colorants were extracted from watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) rind (WRS) and flesh (WFS)for polyester coloration. The optical and colorimetric properties of saps and dyed fabrics, dye fiber bonding phenomena, chromophores diffusion behaviors, color-fastness, ecological and economic aspects were examined through various analysesand the corresponding mechanisms were proposed. A wide range of chromophores diffusion was noticed for severalparameter variations and the resulting diffusions were ranging from 42.67 to 83.13 %. Interestingly, WRS and WFS robustthe UV shielding properties into the dyed fabric and the recorded UPF rating was found to be above 50. All color-fastnessproperties including sublimations were very good to excellent (4 to 4/5) except lightfastness. Finally, the ecological andeconomic aspects of WRS/WFS dyeing were also compared with commercial disperse dyes.

This study aims to validate a fast method of simultaneous analysis of 365 LCamenable and 142 GC-amenable pesticides in hen eggs by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS), respectively, operating in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) acquisition modes. The sample preparation was based on quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS) extraction. Key method performance parameters investigated were specificity, linearity, limit of quantification (LOQ), accuracy, precision and measurement uncertainty. The method was validated at two spiking levels (10 and 50 μg/kg), and good recoveries (70%–120%) and relative standard deviations (RSDs) (≤20) were achieved for 92.9% of LC-amenable and 86.6% of GC-amenable pesticide residues. The LOQs were ≤10 μg/kg for 94.2% of LC-amenable and 92.3% of GC-amenable pesticides. The validated method was further applied to 100 egg samples from caged hens, and none of the pesticides was quantified.

Let $P(z)={\limits\sum_{j=0}^{n}}a_jz^j$ be a polynomial of degree n and Re $a_j={\alpha}_j$, Im $a_j=B_j$. In this paper, we have obtained a zero-free region for polynomials in terms of ${\alpha}_j$ and ${\beta}_j$ and also obtain the bound for number of zeros that can lie in a prescribed region.
Some extensions of Enestrom-Kakeya theorem for quaternionic polynomials
Shahbaz Mir,Abdul Liman 강원경기수학회 2022 한국수학논문집 Vol.30 No.4
In this paper, we will prove some extensions of the Enestr\"{o}m-Kakeya theorem to quaternionic polynomials which were already valid for the classical Enestr\"{o}m-Kakeya theorem to complex polynomials. Our kind of extensions have considerably improved the bounds by relaxing and weakening the hypothesis in some cases.

Hussein, M.F.,Liman, M.M.,Mogawer, H.H.,Bakkar, M.N.,Garel Nabi, A.R. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 1992 Animal Bioscience Vol.5 No.3
The haematological profiles of camel calves of either sex were monitored at monthly intervals between 1-12 months of age. RBC, Hb and PCV increased with age for several months, with corresponding increases in MCH and MCHC, and a relative reduction in MCV. WBC and lymphocyte counts were highest at the age of 1 month, fell progressively during the following 6 months, and stabilized thereafter. Neutrophils were also highest at the age of one month and decreased slowly with advancing age. Eosinophils, monocytes and basophils fluctuated only from month to month. Age effect was significant for WBC, lymphocytes and neutrophils, and all the erythrocytic parameters, except MCV. Sex effect was significant for Hb and eosinophils.
