A hierarchical gain scheduling (HGS) approach is proposed to model the nonlinear dynamics of NOx emissions of a utility boiler. At the lower level of HGS, a nonlinear static model is used to schedule the static parameters of local linear dynamic models (LDMs), such as static gains and static operating conditions. According to upper level scheduling variables, a multi-model method is used to calculate the predictive output based on lower-level LDMs. Both static and dynamic experiments are carried out at a 360MW pulverized coal-fired boiler. Based on these data, a nonlinear static model using artificial neural network (ANN) and a series of linear dynamic models are obtained. Then, the performance of the HGS model is compared to the common multi-model in predicting NOx emissions, and experimental results indicate that the proposed HGS model is much better than the multi-model in predicting NOx emissions in the dynamic process.
Core stability of dominating set games

In this paper, we study the core stability of the dominating set game which has arisen from the cost allocation problem related to domination problem on graphs. Let G be a graph whose neighborhood matrix is balanced. Applying duality theory of linear programming and graph theory, we prove that the dominating set game corresponding to G has the stable core if and only if every vertex belongs to a maximum 2- packing in G. We also show that for dominating set games corresponding to G, the core is stable if it is large, the game is extendable, or the game is exact. In fact, the core being large, the game being extendable and the game being exact are shown to be equivalent. This study focused on the buildings, wharves, and parks of the coastal space of Chongqing based on the ten-year construction draft plan of the alternate capital. From an investigation of these three components according to their type, structure, terrain, function, spatial layer, and so on, the following conclusions were drawn: The coastal space of Chongqing is composed of three different layers. The first and second layers consisted of the two-river intersection basin with the transportation and commemorative space at the center, the Yangtze River basin with the commercial space at the center, and the Jialing River with the military and recreational space at the center. The third-layer is centered around the commemorative space. The coastal space of Chongqing manifested the limitations of the times, its traditionality, and an integrated development process.
Empirical likelihood of conditional quantile difference with left-truncated and dependent data
Kong Cui-Juan,Liang Han-Ying 한국통계학회 2020 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.49 No.4
We, in this paper, apply the smoothed and maximum empirical likelihood (EL) methods to construct the confdence intervals of the conditional quantile diference with left-truncated data. In particular, we prove the smoothed empirical log-likelihood ratio of the conditional quantile diference is asymptotically chi-squared when the observations with multivariate covariates form a stationary 훼-mixing sequence. At the same time, we establish the asymptotic normality of the maximum EL estimator for the conditional quantile diference. A simulation study is conducted to investigate the fnite sample behavior of the proposed methods and a real data application is provided.

Background Although numerous measures have been used to improve the outcome of lung cancer patients, lung cancer, as the second most common diagnosed cancer, is still the main cause of cancer death. It becomes increasingly urgent for us to deeply deplore the molecular mechanism of lung cancer and to discover the potential therapeutic targets. In our study, we are dedicated to discovering the role of MIB2 in lung cancer development. Methods The public databases were used to compare the expression level of MIB2 in cancer and non-cancer tissue. We analyzed the expression of MIB2 in lung cancer samples by performing Rt-PCR and western blot. We carried out CCK8 and clone assays to study the influence of MIB2 in lung cancer proliferation. The transwell assays and wound healing assays were implemented to study the function of MIB2 in metastasis and invasion. Proteins of cell cycle control pathways are detected to verify the potential mechanism of MIB2 in lung cancer progression. Results MIB2 is up regulated in lung cancer tissue compared to adjacent normal lung tissue according to both public databases and our clinical lung cancer samples. Knockdown of MIB2 inhibits proliferation, metastasis, and invasion of lung cancer cell lines. Cyclins and cyclin dependent kinases (CDK) including CDK2, CDK4, and cyclinB1 were down regulated in MIB2 knockdown cells. Conclusion Our results prove that MIB2 acts as a driver in NSCLC tumorigenesis by regulating cell cycle control pathways.

Gastric cancer is a leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stressinduced apoptosis has been confirmed to be important in the treatment of gastric cancer. MiR- 637 has recently been found to exert inhibitory effects on gastric cancer, and this study aimed to investigate whether miR-637 could regulate apoptosis through ER stress. The results showed that tunicamycin (TM) induced downregulation of miR-637 in gastric cancer cells (AGS) and increase of apoptosis and ER stress. Overexpression of miR-637 promoted TM-induced apoptosis and expression of ER stress associated proteins (GRP78 and CHOP), but inhibited expression of Calreticulin. MiR-637 could bind with the 3ʹ-UTR of CALR, and negatively regulated the expression of CALR. The co-transfection of miR-637 and CALR in AGS cells show that, CALR overexpression could reverse the pro-apoptosis effects of miR-637 in TM-treated cells. In conclusion, the present study suggests that miR-637 participates in ER stress-induced apoptosis in gastric cancer cells by suppressing CALR expression. miR-637 or CALR may be a future potential target for gastric cancer treatment.
