This study focused on the increase of lime plate strength by adding reinforced material into limestone and chemical reaction with carbon dioxide gas. Also we did experiment to find the optimum content of plaster as a binding component. Carbon fiber as reinforced material has disadvantages. It did not mixed well in the forming process and had low cohesion force with limestone. Content of glass fiber showed optimum at 1.0cm, 4.16 wt% in lime plate. The increase of strength in lime plate was ??, after reaction with CO₂at 70℃ for 6hr. When lime plate consists of 40wt% of plaster, 4.16 wt% of 1.0cm glass fiber, its strength was ??

In this study, light-heat generating materials were produced in two ways, and the performance of two light-generating insulation sheets was reviewed. As a result of the experiment, it was possible to confirm the improved heating performance of the light heating insulation sheet compared to the existing bubble sheet. The light heat insulation sheet (b) showed improved thermal properties compared to the existing bubble sheet, and it is believed that the temperature has increased due to the combined effect of initial hydration heat and heat generation after installation. In future studies additional experiments are needed to compensate for the insufficient insulation performance due to the single bubble sheet through the double bubble sheet and to adjust the amount of light-generating materials added as a consideration of the optimal heat-generating effect of the light-generating insulation sheet (b).
Synthesis and Characterization of Cubic Boron Nitride Thin Films Using the ME - ARE Method

Cubic boron nitride (cBN) films were deposited by a magnetically enhanced activated reactive evaporation (ME-ARE) technique. Pulsed DC instead of r.f. power was used to bias the substrate. The effect of deposition parameters such as substrate bias voltage, plasma discharge current and gas flow ratio on the formation of cBN was investigated. BN films were characterized by FTIR and TEM. CBN films with a high content of cubic phase were successfiolly synthesized. It was found that formation of cBN film requires the bambardment of ions with both high flux and high energy. TEM observation showed that the cBN film had grain sizes of 15-50 ㎚ and that a non-cubic phase BN, 10-15 ㎚ was initially grown.

Background/Aims: Tolvaptan is a very effective treatment for hypervolemic or euvolemic hyponatremia. We compared the clinical efficacy of and response to tolvaptan in patients with the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH) and congestive heart failure (CHF). Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 50 patients (SIADH, n = 30; CHF, n = 20) who were prescribed tolvaptan between July 2013 and October 2015. Tolvaptan was prescribed when the serum sodium level was < 125 mmol/L and the standard treatment failed. Normonatremia was defined as a serum sodium level of > 135 mmol/L. Results: After the initiation of tolvaptan therapy, there was an immediate response in the urine volume and serum sodium level in all patients. The improvements in the urine volume and serum sodium concentration were highest within the first 24 hours of treatment. In addition, the mean change in the serum sodium level during the first 24 hours was significantly higher in patients with SIADH than in those with CHF (ΔNa, 9.9 ± 4.5 mmol/L vs. 6.9 ± 4.4 mmol/L, respectively; p = 0.025). Also, the mean maintenance dose was lower, and the total duration of tolvaptan use was slightly shorter in the SIADH group than CHF group (21.5 ± 14.9 days vs. 28.0 ± 20.1 days, p = 0.070). Conclusions: The early response to tolvaptan treatment was better in patients with SIADH than in those with CHF. Thus, the tolvaptan treatment strategy should be differed between patients with SIADH and those with CHF.

In this study, we investigated effects of hydrogen annealing (HA) and plasma nitridation (PN) applied in order to improve $Si/SiO_2$ interface characteristics of TiN metal gate. In result, HA and PN showed a positive effect decreasing number of interface state $(N_{it})$ respectively. After FN stress for verifying reliability, however, we identified rapid increase of $N_{it}$ for TiN gate with HA, which is attributed to hydrogen related to a change of $Si/SiO_2$ interface characteristic. In contrast to HA, PN showed an improved Nit and gate oxide leakage characteristic due to several possible effects, such as blocking of Chlorine (Cl) diffusion and prevention of thermal reaction between TiN and $SiO_2$.
Analysis of the Structural Failure of Marine Propeller Blades

A series of detailed study was performed to identify the sources of the propeller blade failure and resolve the problem systematically, by use of the theoretical tools and by the direct measurement and observation in the full-scale sea trials. The selection of inexperienced propulsion control system with a reversible gear system is shown to cause the serious damage to the propeller blades in crash astern maneuver, when the rotational direction of the propeller is changed rapidly. Quasi-steady analysis for propeller blade strength using FEM code in bollard backing condition indicates that the safety factor should be order of 18∼20 to avoid the structural failure for the selected propeller geometry and reduction gear system.
