        Bio-and-photodegradable polymer composites were prepared by blending biodegradable aliphatic polyester and photodegradable master batch(M/B). Photodegradability, biodegradability, thermal properties and mechanical properties were investigated. The biodegradability of EnPol(G4600) composites decreased wish increasing the amount of M/B, while that of EnPol(G8000) composites increased. Tensile strength and elongation decreased with increasing the time of outdoor exposure and the amount of M/B but modulus comparatively maintained. The mechenical properties decreased as the content of M/B increased, while the melting temperature unchanged.

      • Chemotherapy in population including elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma

        Introduction: Recent study reported that 38 percent of new patients with soft tissue sarcoma were aged more than 65 years. However, few studies reported clinical outcomes after chemotherapy in elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma. Elderly patients hesitate to receive chemotherapy. But, an equal response to chemotherapy is expected in elderly patients as in young patients. Hence, we aimed to study the clinical results of chemotherapy in elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma. Patients and Methods: 97 patients were admitted for chemotherapy at the Korea University Anam, Guro, and Ansan Hospital s between 2003.3 and 2012.4. Patients were treated with an appropriate chemotherapy regimen. Results: The median age of the patients in the entire group was 52 years. Patients received a median of 4 cycles of chemotherapy. The median overall survival for the entire group was 61 months (95% CI: 29.3-92.7 months). 33 patients were identified as elderly patients aged 60 years or older. In the elderly group, the most common type of soft tissue sarcoma was leiomyosarcoma (21.2%). The median number of chemotherapy cycles was three and median survival was 15 months in the elderly group. In the elderly group, one patient had a complete response. There were four partial responses. 14 patients had progressive disease. In the subgroup analysis, 51 of 64 patients (79.75%) in the non-elderly group were responders, while 19 of 33 patients (57.6%) in elderly group responders were responders (Chi-square test p=0.03). However, there was no statistically significant difference in survival between the elderly and non-elderly groups (p=0.11, log-rank test). Disease burden and response to chemotherapy were predictive of survival in elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma. Conclusions: Taking only an age-based decision for systemic chemotherapy seems not to be reasonable in elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma. A judicious decision needs to be taken for selecting the candidate for chemotherapy in elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma after considering the benefit and toxicity of chemotherapy.

      • Central nervous system blast crisis of chronic myeloid leukemia and treatment with dasatinib

        Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative disorder driven by the BCR-ABL1. Owing to the high efficacy of imatinib mesylate for CML in chronic phase, the frequency of the blast crisis is greatly reduced. Some CML cases develop extramedullary disease caused by infiltration of blast cells. However, the central nervous system (CNS) as an isolated site of extramedullary blast crisis is rare. Herein, we report case of dasatinib-based maintenance therapy for lymphoid blast crisis of the CNS in a patient with CML who was receiving imatinib mesylate therapy. In July 2012, a 55 years old man was diagnosed with Philadelphia chromosome positive CML in the chronic phase. Immediately, imatinib mesylate administration was initiated. Four months after the diagnosis, he complained of headache. On cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examination, the CSF had increased number of WBCs (6289/iL); almost all WBCs were lymphoid cells. Brain MRI revealed abnormal leptomeningeal enhancement of the frontal lobes. In addition to a complete hematological, cytogenetic response and evidence of the absence of malignant lymphoblasts in the peripheral blood and bone marrow samples, these findings led to the diagnosis of isolated lymphoid blast crisis in CNS. Immediately, the patient was treated with scheduled intrathecal methotrexate, cerebrospinal radiotherapy and TKI dasatinib. Major molecular response was achieved after 4 months after treatment change, followed by matched related allogeneic peripheral blood SCT. During the course of dasatinib maintenance therapy, several follow-up tests were performed and persistently yielded results indicating complete hematologic, molecular, and cytogenetic responses. The patient was neurological symptom-free for 2 years. In addition, the abnormal enhancement of the frontal lobe observed on the initial brain MRI had disappeared. This report is meaningful of significance as because we used a minimal treatment of intrathecal chemotherapy, radiotherapy, allogeneic peripheral blood SCT and an oral TKI without using cytotoxic chemotherapy such as hyper-CyVAD.

        군의관 미승조 함정 해군 의무부사관의 직무분석

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to conduct a job analysis of naval medical petty officer without naval surgeons on the warship by using the DACUM(developing a curriculum) technique. Methods: A DACUM workshop was held in October 3, 2013 and November 23, 2013, a job analysis (draft) consisting of duties and tasks was conducted, and then content validity was evaluated through hands-on experts. Based on the evaluation results, research tools were decided, and then a survey was performed from March 11, 2014 to April 11, 2014. Results: The definition of ‘naval medical petty officer without naval surgeons in the warship’ turned out to be ‘primary care providers who try to prevent loss of combat force in case of emergency by maintaining and promoting soldiers’ health, staying close to the warship crew, and by performing related duties such as preventive medical practice activities, supply path management, educational training, and administration management’. As a result of the analysis, their job was classified into 5 duties and 31 tasks. Conclusion: In order to improve work efficiency and maximize work results of naval medical petty officers without naval surgeons on the warship, standardization of works through a systematic job analysis is necessary.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the general characteristics of naval medical petty officers in warships without naval surgeons and analyze tile performance, significance and difficulty of Health duty by rank and warship size. The results of this study are as follows. First, the analysis of general characteristics shows that the number of chief petty officers was 35 (43.8%), the number of those aged 30 and over and under 40 were 30 (37.5%), and the number of those who attending or graduated from high school and junior college was 48 (60%). Second, the difference in Health performance, Health significance and difficulty of Health duty by rank was not all statistically significant. Third, the difference in Health performance of Health duty by warship size was found to be significant only in the Health duty of ‘prevention responsibility.’ The Health performance of ‘prevention responsibility` was significantly low in third class warships as opposed to first class warships, second class warships and other support warships.

        수량예측을 위한 ‘Cupra’, ‘Fiesta’ 파프리카의 생육특성 및 수확량 패턴 분석

        파프리카 수확량 예측을 위한 목적으로 온실 환경과 작물의 생육 특성 및 수확량 패턴을 조사 분석하였다. 경남거창 지역(해발고도 667m)의 유리온실에서 적색계 파프리카 ‘Cupra’와 황색계 파프리카 ‘Fiesta’를 2016년 7월 5일 파종하고, 35일 후인 8월 10일 정식하여 2017년 7월 15일까지 재배하였다. 재식밀도는 두 품종 동일하게 3.66plants/㎡로 2줄기로 유인하였다. 정식 후 재배기간 동안 시설의 외부 평균 광량은 14.36MJ/㎡/day였고, 온실 내부의 관리에서 24시간 평균온도 20~22℃, CO₂ 400~700ppm, 24시간 평균 습도 60~75% 수준으로 유지하고자 하였다. 정식 42주 후까지 신장속도는 ‘Cupra’가 7.3cm/week, ‘Fiesta’가 6.9cm/week로 ‘Cupra’가 빨랐다. 첫 착과는 ‘Cupra’가 1.0마디, ‘Fiesta’는 2.7마디에서 나타났으며, 첫 수확은 정식 후 ‘Cupra’가 14주, ‘Fiesta’가 11주로 ‘Fiesta’가 빨랐다. 재배 종료 시까지의 10a당 수확량을 비교해 보면, ‘Fiesta’가 18,848kg, ‘Cupra’가 19,307kg로 ‘Fiesta’가 2.4% 높게 나타났으며, L 사이즈인 200g 이상의 과중 비율은 ‘Cupra’가 27.7%로 ‘Fiesta’보다 7.7%로 높았다. 6월까지의 수확량에서, 착과에서 수확까지의 평균 소요일수는 ‘Cupra’가 72.6일, ‘Fiesta’가 63.8일로 ‘Cupra’가 8.8일이 더 소요되었다. 수확소요일수와 그 기간 누적된 광량과의 관계를 보면, 광량이 증가하는 2월 이후 두 품종 모두 누적광이 많을수록 수확소요일수는 짧아지는 부의 관계를 나타냈다. 1월에 가장 긴 소요일수가 요구되었는데, 이는 낮은 광량으로 생육과 착색이 지연되어 소요일수가 늘어난 것으로 판단된다. 수확량과의 관계에서는 ‘Cupra’는 광량이 증가됨에 따라 수확량이 증가되는 반면, ‘Fiesta’는 불규칙적인 패턴을 보여 품종간의 차이를 보였다. This study was aimed at predicting the yield of paprika (Capsicum annuum L.) through analyzing the growth characteristics, yield pattern and greenhouse environment. In the greenhouse of the Gyeongnam area (667 m above sea level), the red paprika ‘Cupra’ and the yellow paprika ‘Fiesta’ were grown from July 5, 2016 to July 15, 2017. The planting density was 3.66 plants/㎡ and attracted 2 stems. During the cultivation period, the average external radiation of the glasshouse was 14.36 MJ/㎡/day and the internal average temperature was controlled as 20.1℃. After 42 weeks of planting, the growth rate of ‘Cupra’ was 7.3 cm/week and that of ‘Fiesta’ was 6.9 cm/week. The first fruit setting of ‘Cupra’ appeared at 1.0th node and ‘Fiesta’ at 2.7th node. The first harvest of "Fiesta" was 11 weeks after planting and "Fiesta" was 14 weeks. Comparing the yield per 10 a until the end of the cultivation in July, ‘Fiesta’ was 19,307 kg, which was 2.4% higher than that of ‘Cupra’. And the fruit weight ratio of over 200 g of ‘Cupra’ was 27.7% which was 7.7% higher than that of ‘Fiesta’. The average required days to harvest after fruit setting of ‘Cupra’ was 72.6 days and ‘Fiesta’ was 63.8 days. According to the relationship between the average required days to harvest and the cumulative radiation (during from fruit setting to harvest), the more radiation increases the less required days to harvest increases after February. In terms of yield, ‘Cupra’ increased in yield as the cumulative radiation increased, while ‘Fiesta’ showed an irregular pattern. Cumulative radiation from fruit setting to harvest was negatively correlated with required days to harvest after February in both cultivars. But in relation to yield, there were difference between ‘Cupra’ and ‘Fiesta’.

        집중권 방식 영구자석 동기전동기의 냉각특성 개선에 관한 연구

        This paper presents a thermal analysis of an interior PM synchronous machine with concentrated winding for electric vehicle. The conventional thermal equivalent network model has been used for a long time for calculation of the temperature rises in electrical machines. In spite of being popular, this method can not be applied correctly for elements with complicated cooling structure like liquid cooled housing. To overcome this drawbacks, in this paper, a hybrid thermal model using the result of CFD analysis partly. Using this method, to improve a thermal performance of PMSM with concentrated winding, the effects of two design parameters are analysed. Finally, the accuracy of this model has been verified by experiments for the developed 21kW motor.
