        Adipose Tissue-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cell Inhibits Osteoclast Differentiation through Tumor Necrosis Factor Stimulated Gene-6

        Background: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been highlighted as a potent therapeutic option for conditions with excessive osteoclast activity such as systemic and local bone loss in rheumatic disease. In addition to their immunomodulatory functions, MSCs also directly suppress osteoclast differentiation and activation by secreting osteoprotegerin (OPG) and IL-10 but the underlying mechanisms are still to be clarified. Tumor necrosis factor-stimulated gene-6 (TSG-6) is a potent anti-inflammatory molecule that inhibits osteoclast activation and has been shown to mediate MSC’s immunomodulatory functions. In this study, we aimed to determine whether adipose tissue-derived MSC (ADMSC) inhibits the differentiation from osteoclast precursors to mature osteoclasts through TSG-6. Methods: Human ADMSCs were co-cultured with bone marrow-derived monocyte/macrophage (BMMs) from DBA/1J or B6 mouse in the presence of osteoclastogenic condition (M-CSF 10 ng/mL and RANKL 10 ng/mL). In some co-culture groups, ADMSCs were transfected with siRNA targeting TSG-6 or OPG to determine their role in osteoclastogenesis. Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) activity in culture supernatant and mRNA expression of osteoclast markers were investigated. TRAP+ multinucleated cells and F-actin ring formation were counted. Results: ADMSCs significantly inhibited osteoclast differentiation under osteoclastogenic conditions. Suppression of TSG-6 significantly reversed the inhibition of osteoclast differentiation in a degree similar to that of OPG based on TRAP activity, mRNA expression of osteoclast markers, and numbers of TRAP+ multinucleated cell and F-actin ring formation. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that ADMSCs inhibit osteoclast differentiation through TSG-6 under osteoclastogenic conditions.       • 공유주차를 통한 근린생활 건축물 부설주차장 활성화 방안

        There are not enough parking lots in neighboring commercial areas of Seoul. So Illegal parking is often seen on the streets of neighboring commercial areas. When the building is constructed, parking lot attached to the building must be constructed in Korea. However most of parking lots attached to buildings in neighboring commercial areas are often abandoned. Moreover, the purpose of their use or the purpose of use of them are often changed illegally. The purpose of this study is as follows. Firstly, characteristics and behavior of parking are analyzed in neighboring commercial areas. Secondly, the problems related to parking lot attached to the building are recognized in these areas. Third is development of major improvement strategies for the parking system annexed to the building in these areas. Fourth is revision of related laws for improvement of parking system annexed to the building. The conclusions of this study are as follows. The clue for solving the problems in neighboring commercial areas is parking sharing. Parking sharing solves imbalance of spatiotemporal parking demand in these areas. To establish the culture of parking sharing, local government must provide special incentive. And appointment of Special District for Parking Management can be considered, to improve parking system annexed to the building. Lastly, to succeed the improvement project for these parking environment, revision of related laws for improvement of parking system annexed to the building is essential. And revision of related laws is monitored continuously.

      • 서울시 생활권 교통개선사업 추진방안

        There are not enough parking areas in neighbourhood units of residential areas formed before Implementation of Land Readjustment Projects in Seoul. So most of parking lots in these neighbourhood units are on streets. Street parking deteriorates functions of street and living space. The purpose of this study is as follows. Firstly, the meaning of Transportation Improvement for Neighbourhood Units will be examined in order to set up the fundamental concept of it. Second is development of major strategies for safe and pleasant transportation environment in neighbourhood units. Third is establishment of propulsion procedure and implementation plan of Transportation Improvement Projects for Neighbourhood Units. This study examines a way to change parking system from street parking and illegal parking to off-street parking. Moreover, the system integrated with building and street space reserved by changing from street parking and illegal parking to off-street parking is established. The conclusions of this study are as follows. The first consideration should be the process of switching from street parking system in residential areas to off-street parking system. Transportation Improvement Projects for Neighbourhood Units should be integrated with transportation, architecture and urban design instead of the improvement of transportation function. Resident participation is essential. In order to get agreement process, loan and subsidy should be invigorated from Special Account of Parking. The integrated system for the project is indispensable to accomplish Transportation Improvement Projects for Neighbourhood Units. It would be an alternative for Newtown at a standstill that the district retracted from Newtown as a site is selected.

        ISO/IEC JTC1/SC29/WG11 MPEG은 20여 개 국가에서 3-400명에 이르는 인원이 참석하는 유망한 국제 표준화 회의로, 국내에서도 다수의 기술자들이 참여하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기술표준화 회의에 있어 지금까지 경험적으로만 관측되어 온 표준화 과정과 경향들을 표준화 기고서 조사를 통해 정량적으로 분석하는 방법을 제시한다. 또한 이를 실증하기 위해 MPEG-21 DIA 국제표준의 표준화 과정에 실제 적용하여, 문서 속성과 시계열에 따라 조사 결과를 분석하였다.

        COVID-19 관련 질병관리청 배포자료 정보 이미지의 시각적 커뮤니케이션 경향에 대한 다학제적 분석 연구

        본 연구는 질병관리청의 COVID-19 관련 배포자료에 실린 정보 이미지 사례들의 특성과 경향을 파악하고 그 영향력을 고려하여 개선점을 모색하는 것에 목적이 있다. 연구의 방법은 사례 분석 연구이다. 특히 정보 시각화 분야의 다양한 학자들과 언어학자들의 이론을 다학제적으로 융합하여 분석의 틀을 고안하고 시각적 이미지 사례들의 주제를 카테고리별로 구분한 후, 이미지에 나타나는 표현 요소, 시각화 형식, 비유적 표현 형식을 분석하고 이들 속에서 나타나는 특징적 경향을 파악하였다. 분석 결과, 시각적 이미지들은 주로 형태 요소를 기반으로 단순묘사의 형식을 통해 정보의 쉬운 이해를 도모하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 시각적 이미지가 다루는 편중된 주제와 소재, 시각화 형식 등은 COVID-19와 관련하여 새롭게 전달해야 할 정보 내용의 폭과 이해 효과를 제한할 우려가 있음을 확인하였다. 결론적으로, 질병관리청에서 배포하는 이미지가 교육적 자료로 활용되고 있는 바, 그 활용 분야를 넓히고 교육적 효과를 제고하기 위해 이미지가 전달할 정보의 종류를 다양화하고 이에 따라 시각화 형식을 다양화할 필요성이 있다. 특히 은유나 환유와 같은 비유적 표현은 문화적 관습에 따라 형성된 내포적 의미를 반영하고 있으므로 전략적으로 사용된다면 감염병 관련 정보를 제공하는 시각적 이미지 언어들이 보다 효과적인 이해를 이끌 수 있을 것이다. This research aims to identify the attributes and trends of the visual instances employed to deliver COVID-19-related information distributed by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, and to seek improvements in consideration of the educational effect and influence. The methodology is a case analysis study. A framework for analysis was designed based on the theories of various scholars in the field of information visualization and linguists. Through this framework, the subjects of visual image cases were categorized, and the expression elements, visualization types, and figurative expression forms of the collected cases were analyzed. The result of the analysis shows that the visual images have been used to promote easy understanding of information through the form of simple description. However, it is highly likely that the biased subject, visualized materials, and visualization type would lead to narrow the scope of information subjects and limit the effect of understanding through images. In conclusion, since the images released by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency have been being used as educational materials, it is necessary to diversify the types of information and to extend the visualization types in order to broaden the fields of the application and enhance the educational effect. In particular, figurative expressions such as metaphor and metonymy reflect specific meanings formed by cultural conditions, so if these expressions are also strategically classified and applied, visual image languages that provide information on infectious diseases will lead to more effective understanding and educational effects.
