A Convergent Synthesis of an Anti-Helicobacter Pylori Agent, Dehydrodiconiferyl Alcohol
Kun Hu,정진현 대한약학회 2006 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.29 No.7
Potential anti-Helicobacter pylori agent dehydrodiconiferyl alcohol was synthesized in 44% overall yield, starting from vanillin which could be commercially available. Carbon extension of vanillin followed by the Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons reaction, a biomolecular radical coupling reaction and DIBAL-H reduction gave dehydrodiconiferyl alcohol.
A Convergent Synthetic Study of Biologically Active Benzofuran Derivatives
Hu, Kun,Jeong, Jin-Hyun The Pharmaceutical Society of Korea 2006 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.29 No.6
In order to construct a benzofuran library, we developed a model study of benzbromarone. Synthesis has been achieved in 53% overall yield, starting from phenol via the key intermediate 2-ethylbenzofuran which was afforded by intramolecular Wittig reaction.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of postoperative chemotherapy in pT1bN0 and pT2N0 gastric cancerpatients with high risk factors. Materials and Methods: Clinicopathological data of gastric cancer patients, who had undergone gastrectomy in high volumecenters in Korea and China and were finally diagnosed with pT1bN0 and pT2N0 between 2006 and 2010, were analyzed retrospectively. Survival analyses stratified by risk factors and multivariable analyses were performed. Results: A total of 1509 patients were enrolled, with 41 (2.7%) patients receiving adjuvant chemotherapy after gastrectomy and1468 (97.3%) patients undergoing surgery alone. The adjuvant chemotherapy group showed higher percentages of tumor withmaximal diameter >3 cm (51.2% vs. 25.8%), poor differentiation (68.3% vs. 49.8%), and less harvested lymph nodes (17.1% vs. 5.2%) compared to the surgery alone group. The overall survival rates were 95.1% in the adjuvant chemotherapy group and 93.3%in the surgery alone group, without significant difference. In multivariable analysis, age was found to be an independent prognosticfactor. However, there were no difference in the overall survival between patients with risk factors and those without risk factors, even in terms of age. Meanwhile, patients with more than two risk factors who received chemotherapy showed better survivaltrend, especially for pT2N0 patients, compared to the surgery alone group, although no significant differences were observed. Conclusion: In pT1bN0 and pT2N0 patients, age was found to be an independent prognostic factor. However, adjuvant chemotherapyseemed to be unnecessary, while postoperative chemotherapy might offer survival benefits to pT2N0 patients with morethan two risk factors.

A new classification method for fault waveform is proposed based on discrete orthogonal wavelet transform (DOWT) and hybrid support vector machine (hybrid SVM) for fault type of a three-phase voltage inverter. The waveforms of output voltage obtained from the faulty inverter are decomposed by DOWT into wavelet coefficient matrices, through which we can obtain singular value vectors acted as features of time-series periodic waveforms. And then a multi-classes classification method based on a new Huffman Tree structure is presented to realize 1-v-r SVM strategy. The extracted features are applied to hybrid SVM for determining fault type. Compared to employing the structure based on ordinary binary tree, the superiority of the proposed SVM method is shown in the success of fault diagnosis because the average Loo-correctness of the SVM based on Huffman tree structure exceed the general SVM 3.65%, and the correctness reaches 99.6%.
Progress in determining the gravitational constant G with four attracting masses
Zhong-Kun Hu,Jun Luo 한국물리학회 2004 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.45 No.1
The uncertainty in determining the positions and the geometries of the attracting and the attracted masses is one of the most important error sources in the gravitational experiment. A conguration with the four attracting masses in the determination of Newtonian gravitational constant G by the time-of-swing method is performed. The current problem is that the uncertainty in the period of the torsion pendulum is too large.
Proposed test of the gravitational Inverse-Square-Law at submillimeter scale using torsion pendulum
Zhong-Kun Hu,Jun Luo,Bang-Ming GU 한국물리학회 2004 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.45 No.1
Motivated by extra dimensional theories that predict new eects, experimental search for the deviation from Newtonian gravitational Inverse-Square Law (ISL) was proposed. We are testing the ISL at the separation of about 0.1 mm by means of a torsion pendulum with the at plate shape test and source masses. Electrostatic feedback force keeps the torsion pendulum in its rest position and the current force sensitivity is about 10က15 N.
An Efficient Multi-PCA Based On-line Monitoring Scheme for Multi-Stages Imperial Smelting Process
Zhi-kun Hu,Zhi-wen Chen,Wei-Hua Gui,Chun-hua Yang,Lin-zi Yin,Xiao-qi Peng 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2013 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.11 No.2
Imperial Smelting Process (ISP) is one of the main methods for Zinc and Lead smelting. In this paper, we firstly focus on its unique characteristics that ISP consists of many feeding cycles repeated in a similar way, and the normal process changes and multiple operating conditions would be frequently found in the process which would always lead to false alarms. To this end, we classify each feeding cycles of ISP into initial stage, transition stage, and steady stage, and use standard PCA, first order perturbation (FOP) based recursive dynamic PCA and multi-mode approach to deal with them respectively. The monitoring results using real data show that the proposed scheme can be able to eliminate false alarms and detect faults efficiently.
