The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of aquatic exercise on the job re-lated physical fitness and pulmonary function ability of fire fighters, and to confirm that the improvement of work performance and breath-ing ability of fire fighters can be achieved through aquatic exercise. In order to accomplish this purpose, the subjects were selected from 30 fire fighters working at C city, and the effects of the aquatic exercise on the work job related physical fitness and pulmonary function ability of fire fighters were as follows. The participants were divided into two groups: Exercise group (n=15) and Control group (n=15). The aquatic training for 12 weeks. The results of this study were as follows: First, As for the job related physical fitness, there were significantly increased in Grasping power, sit-up, seated hip adductor stretching, back strength, standing long jump and 20m round trip running in the exercise group. Second, As for the gait Ability, there were significantly increased in speed and stepin the exercise group. As conclusions, this study confirmed that the aquatic training could improve the job related physical fitness and pulmonary function of fire fighters. However, there is a need for more specific exercise programs to be developed for the continual improvement of athletic performance in aquatic training along with further studies to confirm the physiological benefits of those programs.
Injury incidences in scuba divers of British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) : A retrospective study

Scuba diving itself is generally known as a safe sports. However, various injury accidents can happen, and the incidences vary depending on divers' education grade levels about the risks. Therefore, the study set out to identify and analyze the causes and patterns of injuries depending on the divers' safety education grade levels through a questionnaire survey targeting Ocean divers (n=12), Sports divers (n=16), and Dive leaders (n=15), all of whom belong to the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC). After conducting a frequency analysis on the collected questionnaires, the results are made as follows. First, in terms of diving depth, the most frequent diving depth was 15-20m among Ocean divers, 20-25m among Sports divers, and 15-20m in case of Dive leaders. Second, with regard to the causes of injuries, the most frequently answered causes are 'Overtension' and 'Low Skill' among Ocean divers; 'Low Skill' among Sports divers; 'Overaction among Dive leaders. Third, in terms of injury patterns, the most frequently answered injury patterns are 'Ear' injuries among Ocean divers; 'Ankle' injuries among Sports divers; 'Ankle' and 'Calf' injuries among Dive leaders. Fourth, with regard to who performed first-aid when an injury accident happened, the most frequent answers are 'Instructor' among Ocean divers; 'Instructor' and 'Self' among Sports divers; 'Self" among Dive leaders.
우슈 투로 수련이 초등학생의 신체구성 및 균형능력에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 2016년 4월부터 2016년 6월까지 S시에 거주하는 10~13세의 초등학생 60명(EG/30명, CG/30명)으로 구성 하였으며, 우슈 투로 수련이 초등학생의 신체구성 및 균형능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 그룹별 신체구성(체중, BMI, 체지방률, 복부지방률, 기초대사량)과 정적균형능력을 알아보았다. 우슈 투로 수련 후 신체구성의 변화는 EG 그룹에서 골격근량, BMI, 체지방률, 기초대사량에서 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났으며, 그룹 간 차이에서는 사후검사에서 신체구성의 모든 변인이 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 또한, 우슈 투로 수련후 정적균형능력에 관한 연구에서는 EG 그룹에서 Up, Down, Left, Right의 모든 변인에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났으며, CG 그룹은 Right에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 그룹 간 차이에서는 사후검사에서 정적균형능력의 모든 변인이 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 위의 결과로 보아, 우슈 투로 수련이 초등학생의 신체구성 및 정적균형능력의 변화에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. This study was to investigate the effects of Wushu Taolu training on body composition and Balance abilities in the elementary students. The participants were divided into two groups: Exercise group (n=30) and Control group (n=30). The Wushu Taolu training program for 12 weeks. The results of this study were as follows: First, there were significantly decreased in body mass index, body fat percentage. there were significantly increased in skeletal muscle, basal metabolic rate. Second, there were significantly increased in UP, Down, Left, Right Balance abilities. As conclusions, this study confirmed that the Wushu Taolu training could improve the body composition and Balance abilities of elementary students.
우슈 산타 수련이 비만 초등학생의 신체구성 및 기능적 운동수행능력에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 2016년 10월부터 2016년 12월까지 S시에 거주하는 10~13세의 초등학생 40명(EG/20명, NEG/20명)으로 구성 하였으며, 우슈 산타 수련이 비만 초등학생의 신체구성 및 기능적 운동수행능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 그룹별 신체 구성(체중, BMI, 체지방률, 복부지방률, 기초대사량)과 기능적 운동수행능력을 알아 보았다. 우슈 산타 수련 후 신체구성의 변화는 EG 그룹에서 골격근량, BMI, 체지방률, 기초대사량에서 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났으며, 그룹 간 차이에서는 사후검사에서 신체구성의 모든 변인이 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 또한, 우슈 산타 수련 후 기능적 운동수행능력에 관한 연구에서는 EG 그룹에서 카리오카, 크로스 스텝, 한발멀리뛰기에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났으며, NEG 그룹은 한발멀리뛰기에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 그룹 간 차이에서는 사후검사에서 기능적운동수행능력의 모든 변인이 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 위의 결과로 보아, 우슈 산타 수련이 초등학생의 신체구성 및 기능적 운동수행능력의 변화에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. This study was to investigate the effects of Wushu Sanda training on body composition and functional exercise performance in the obese elementary students. The participants were divided into two groups: Wushu Sanda Exercise group (n=20) and Control group (n=20). The Wushu Sanda training program for 12 weeks. The results of this study were as follows: First, As for the body composition, there were significantly decreased in body weight, body mass index, body fat percentage, whereas there were significantly increased in skeletal muscle, basal metabolic rate in EG. Second, there were significantly increased in carioca, co-contraction, shuttle-run, Cross over up step Right and Left, one-leg hop test Right and Left functional exercise performance abilities in EG. As conclusions, this study confirmed that the Wushu Sanda training could improve the body composition and functional exercise performance abilities of obese elementary students.
