The recently, researcher has revealed manifold benefits of the heteroatom doping of carbon in physicochemical properties, which led to the improved performances in electrochemical capacitance for capacitors. The heteroatoms (B, N, O, P, S etc) or functional groups (carboxyl, ether, phenol, quinine, ketone, pridinic-N, pyridone-N, etc.) on the porous carbon wall can improve the wettability, contribute pseudocapacitance, and sometimes also enlarge the potential window. As continuation of our previous studies, herein, we report the facile synthesis of phosphorus doped ordered mesoporous carbon (P-OMC). The P-OMC was found to display the best capacitor with a highest specific capacitance of 358 F/g and 322 F/g in 0.5M H2SO4 and 0.1M KOH, respectively.

Multibody dynamics analysis of a silent chain drive timing system can quickly detect system defects in the product design stage and shorten the development cycle. At present, most of the research on chain drives focuses on roller chains. A 3D silent chain drive timing system model considering the fluctuation of crankshaft sprocket speed and camshaft sprocket torque was established in this paper based on recursive algorithm and Hertz contact theory. The accuracy of the model was verified by comparing the experimental and simulation results of the chain tension. The simulation results show that the chain tension fluctuation with time is obviously affected by the camshaft torque fluctuation, and the maximum chain tension ranges from 233 N to 1202 N, which is less than the safe rotation fatigue limit 1600 N. When the crankshaft sprocket speed is 6000 r/min, the maximum contact force between the chain and crankshaft sprocket and slack guide is 751 N and 588 N, respectively. The maximum chain fluctuation caused by meshing impact between chain and sprocket and polygon effect is 0.52 mm and 0.48 mm, respectively. The system transmission error ranges from 0.14° to 0.38°, which is less than 1° of the maximum allowable transmission error.
Design of sinusoidal shape channel PCHEs for supercritical LNG based on CFD simulation

Printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) is a compact heat exchanger with good heat transfer performance, high structure integrity, and reliability over a wide range of temperatures and pressures. Instead of the traditional zigzag and straight shape channel, the sinusoidal shape channel was adopted in this study to investigate the relation of thermal-hydraulic performance and waviness factors (period and amplitude). The local flow characteristics and the heat flux distribution were compared to verify the effects of period and amplitude on heat transfer performance. As the period of channel becomes shorter, the rapid change of the flow direction can produce high flow separation around the corner leading to the disturbance of the boundary layer opposite wall. The nonuniform distribution of flow velocity appeared around the corner positions can promote fluid mixing and lead to higher thermal performance. An evaluation index was used to compare the comprehensive performance of PCHE considering the Nusselt number and Fanning factor. Based on the simulation results, the optimal design parameters of PCHE channel shape were found that the channel with an equivalent bending angle of 15° offers the highest heat flux capacity.

The status of maritime features is one of the core issues in the South China Sea Arbitration. The essence of this issue is territorial sovereignty and maritime delimitation disputes between China and the Philippines. Based on the interception of certain facts and evidence, the Tribunal did not interpret the China’s diplomatic position as it wanted, and it had an intensely subjective interpretation of Article 121(3) of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982. Combined with the Chinese government’s positions before and after the publicity surrounding the Award, this paper, which takes the logical approaches of the Award as the main line, focuses on chapter 6 of the Award, raising questions about disputes on the status of maritime features, analyzing the treaty interpretations related to the status of maritime features, and clarifying the defections.
On elastic and plastic length scales in strain gradient plasticity

The Fleck-Hutchinson theory on strain gradient plasticity (SGP), proposed in Adv. Appl Mech 33 (1997) 295, has recently been reformulated by adopting the strategy of decomposing the second order strain presented by Lam et al. in J Mech Pays Solids 51 (2003) 1477. The newly built SGP satisfies the non negativity of plastic dissipation, which is still an outstanding issue in other SGP theories. Furthermore, it explicitly shows how elastic strain gradients and corresponding elastic characteristic length scales come into play in general elastic-plastic loading histories. In this study, the relation between elastic length scales and plastic length scales is investigated by taking wire torsion as an example. It is concluded that the size effects arising when two sets of length scales are of the same order are essentially elastic instead of plastic.
Multi-Modal Stress Characteristics Under Coupling Effect of Strip and Work Roll

In this paper, we investigate the rolling interface instability characteristics caused by the coupled motion of strip and the roll system. Based on the experimental test, the dynamical behaviors of the rolling mill under the motion of roll system and the strip show multi-modal vibration phenomenon, which are consistent with the variation of rolling interface force and energy parameters. Then, the dynamic geometric parameters of rolling interface and the dynamic stress models are established. Through the simulation analysis, it can be concluded the multi-modal stress state of the rolling interface is caused by the coupling motion of the strip and the roll system. The results show that the multi-modal stress of the rolling interface cause the rolling process instability, leading the "pulling " on the strip and "beating" on the work roll, which change the instability state of the rolling process. This study provides a theoretical basis for the study of multi-modal vibration characteristics of rolling mill.
Tunneling Enhanced Structure for Improving the Performance of Ultraviolet Light-emitting Diodes

The novel AlGaN-based ultraviolet light-emitting diode (UV-LED) with a tunneling enhancement structure is proposed. The tunneling enhanced structure consists of an ITO layer, an extremely thin AlN layer, and a p+-GaN layer. Under forward bias, compared to traditional devices, tunneling enhanced UV-LEDs can shorten the width of the tunneling region. In addition, the dielectric constant of the AlN layer in the tunnel area is small, which can effectively increase the transport of holes from the ITO layer to the MQWs active region. Due to the increased hole concentration and drift speed, for a 300 ㎛ × 254 ㎛ UV-LED chip, the optical output power increased by 19.6% at 120 ㎃. Therefore, the proposed tunneling enhanced structure provides a simple and effective way to increase the light output power of UV-LEDs.
