<B>ABSTRACT</B><P><I>Paenibacillus polymyxa</I> E681, a spore-forming, low-G+C, Gram-positive bacterium isolated from the rhizosphere of winter barley grown in South Korea, has great potential for agricultural applications due to its ability to promote plant growth and suppress plant diseases. Here we present the complete genome sequence of <I>P. polymyxa</I> E681. Its 5.4-Mb genome encodes functions specialized to the plant-associated lifestyle and characteristics that are beneficial to plants, such as the production of a plant growth hormone, antibiotics, and hydrolytic enzymes.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This study utilized effect-directed analysis (EDA) combined with full-scan screening analysis (FSA) to identify aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR)-active compounds in sediments of inland creeks flowing into Lake Sihwa, South Korea. The specific objectives were to (i) investigate the major AhR-active fractions of organic extracts of sediments by using H4IIE-<I>luc in vitro</I> bioassay (4 h and 72 h exposures), (ii) quantify known AhR agonists, such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and styrene oligomers (SOs), (iii) identify unknown AhR agonists by use of gas chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC-QTOFMS), and (iv) determine contributions of AhR agonists to total potencies measured by use of the bioassay. FSA was conducted on fractions F2.6 and F2.7 (aromatics with log K<SUB>ow</SUB> 5–7) in extracts of sediment from Siheung Creek (industrial area). Those fractions exhibited significant AhR-mediated potency as well as relatively great concentrations of PAHs and SOs. FSA detected 461 and 449 compounds in F2.6 and F2.7, respectively. Of these, five tentative candidates of AhR agonist were selected based on NIST library matching, aromatic structures and numbers of rings, and available standards. Benz[<I>b</I>]anthracene, 11H-benzo[<I>a</I>]fluorene, and 4,5-methanochrysene exhibited significant AhR-mediated potency in the H4IIE-<I>luc</I> bioassay, and relative potencies of these compounds were determined. Potency balance analysis demonstrated that these three newly identified AhR agonists explained 1.1% to 67% of total induced AhR-mediated potencies of samples, which were particularly great for industrial sediments. <B>ABSTRACT</B><P><I>Bifidobacterium animalis</I> subsp. <I>lactis</I> is a probiotic bacterium that naturally inhabits the guts of most mammals, including humans. Here we report the complete genome sequence of <I>B. animalis</I> subsp. <I>lactis</I> AD011 that was isolated from an infant fecal sample. Biological functions encoded in a single circular chromosome of 1,933,695 bp, smallest among the completely sequenced bifidobacterial genomes, are suggestive of their probiotic functions, such as utilization of bifidogenic factors and a variety of glycosidic enzymes and biosynthesis of polysaccharides.</P>

<B>ABSTRACT</B><P><I>Leuconostoc citreum</I> is one of the most prevalent lactic acid bacteria during the manufacturing process of kimchi, the best-known Korean traditional dish. We have determined the complete genome sequence of <I>L. citreum</I> KM20. It consists of a 1.80-Mb chromosome and four circular plasmids and reveals genes likely involved in kimchi fermentation and its probiotic effects.</P>

어플리케이션에 대해 사용한 후 비용을 지불하는 use first, pay later 서비스 개념의 SaaS 의 구현성숙도 모델이 Microsoft 사, Dharmesh Shah, Forrester 사에서 정리되어 발표되었다. 하지만 기존의 SaaS 성숙도 모델은 SaaS 생태계에 존재하는 이해당사자들의 관점 중 서비스 제공자의 관점만 반영 되어 SaaS 어플리케이션 사용자, 개발자, 테넌트 관리자의 측면에서 고려된 기술 성숙 방향이 반영 되어 있지 않다. 본 논문은 SaaS 기본 이론과 업계 제품에서 조사된 이론에 입각해 SaaS 생태계 전반의 SaaS 이해당사자들 관점에서 SaaS 플랫폼 역량의 발전을 분류할 수 있는 체계를 아키텍처에 기반하여 제시하고자 한다.
Improved optical performance of multi-layer MoS2 phototransistor with see-through metal electrode

In recent years, MoS2 has emerged as a prime material for photodetector as well as phototransistor applications. Usually, the higher density of state and relatively narrow bandgap of multi-layer MoS2 give it an edge over monolayer MoS2 for phototransistor applications. However, MoS2 demonstrates thickness-dependent energy bandgap properties, with multi-layer MoS2 having indirect bandgap characteristics and therefore possess inferior optical properties. Herein, we investigate the electrical as well as optical properties of single-layer and multi-layer MoS2-based phototransistors and demonstrate improved optical properties of multi-layer MoS2 phototransistor through the use of see-through metal electrode instead of the traditional global bottom gate or patterned local bottom gate structures. The see-through metal electrode utilized in this study shows transmittance of more than 70% under 532 nm visible light, thereby allowing the incident light to reach the entire active area below the source and drain electrodes. The effect of contact electrodes on the MoS2 phototransistors was investigated further by comparing the proposed electrode with conventional opaque electrodes and transparent IZO electrodes. A position-dependent photocurrent measurement was also carried out by locally illuminating the MoS2 channel at different positions in order to gain better insight into the behavior of the photocurrent mechanism of the multi-layer MoS2 phototransistor with the transparent metal. It was observed that more electrons are injected from the source when the beam is placed on the source side due to the reduced barrier height, giving rise to a significant enhancement of the photocurrent.

<P>Defects in oxide semiconductors not only influence the initial device performance but also affect device reliability. The front channel is the major carrier transport region during the transistor turn-on stage, therefore an understanding of defects located in the vicinity of the interface is very important. In this study, we investigated the dynamics of charge transport in a nanocrystalline hafnium-indium-zinc-oxide thin-film transistor (TFT) by short pulse <I>I–V</I>, transient current and 1/<I>f</I> noise measurement methods. We found that the fast charging behavior of the tested device stems from defects located in both the front channel and the interface, following a multi-trapping mechanism. We found that a silicon-nitride stacked hafnium-indium-zinc-oxide TFT is vulnerable to interfacial charge trapping compared with silicon-oxide counterpart, causing significant mobility degradation and threshold voltage instability. The 1/<I>f</I> noise measurement data indicate that the carrier transport in a silicon-nitride stacked TFT device is governed by trapping/de-trapping processes via defects in the interface, while the silicon-oxide device follows the mobility fluctuation model.</P>

본 논문에서는 SQL CLI를 멀티미디어 데이타의 처리를 위하여 확장하였다. 본 확장은 멀티미디어 데이타를 위한 새로운 SQL 데이타 형(SQL_LOB)을 제안하고, 멀티미디어 데이타의 검색과 저장을 위한 새로운 CLI 함수들을 정의한 것이다. 또한, 새로 확장된 CLI 함수들을 데이타 서버에서 처리하기 위하여 클라이언트 서비스 모듈의 인터페이스를 확장하였다.X/Open CLI와 Microsoft의 ODBC 등에서의 멀티미디어 지원 기능과 비교 평가하여, 본 논문에서 확장한 CLI가 다양한 멀티미디어 연산을 필요로 하는 응용 프로그램의 개발을 더 용이하게 함을 보였다.
