Blood amino acids profile responding to heat stress in dairy cows

        Jiang Guo,Shengtao Gao,Suyu Quan,Yangdong Zhang,Dengpan Bu,Jiaqi Wang 아세아·태평양축산학회 2018 Animal Bioscience Vol.31 No.1

Objective: The objective of this experiment was to investigate the effects of heat stress on milk protein and blood amino acid profile in dairy cows. Methods: Twelve dairy cows with the similar parity, days in milk and milk yield were randomly divided into two groups with six cows raised in summer and others in autumn, respectively. Constant managerial conditions and diets were maintained during the experiment. Measurements and samples for heat stress and no heat stress were obtained according to the physical alterations of the temperature-humidity index. Results: Results showed that heat stress significantly reduced the milk protein content (p<0.05). Heat stress tended to decrease milk yield (p = 0.09). Furthermore, heat stress decreased dry matter intake, the concentration of blood glucose and insulin, and glutathione peroxidase activity, while increased levels of non-esterified fatty acid and malondialdehyde (p<0.05). Additionally, the concentrations of blood Thr involved in immune response were increased under heat stress (p<0.05). The concentration of blood Ala, Glu, Asp, and Gly, associated with gluconeogenesis, were also increased under heat stress (p<0.05). However, the concentration of blood Lys that promotes milk protein synthesis was decreased under heat stress (p<0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, this study revealed that more amino acids were required for maintenance but not for milk protein synthesis under heat stress, and the decreased availability of amino acids for milk protein synthesis may be attributed to competition of immune response and gluconeogenesis.

Improved Work Function of Preferentially Oriented Indium Oxide Films Induced by the Plasma Exposure Technique

        Lei Yang,Shuai Guo,Qiuling Yang,Yuankun Zhu,Bing Dai,Hailing Yu,Pei Lei,Jiecai Han,Ying Hou,Jiaqi Zhu 대한금속·재료학회 2015 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.11 No.6

The preferentially oriented In2O3 thin films were prepared on glass substrates by conventional magnetron sputtering with Ar+ plasma exposure at room temperature. Based on the x-ray diffraction, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and UV photoelectron spectroscopy results, it was found that the Ar+ plasma exposure not only enhanced the low-temperature crystallization of In2O3 thin films, but also led to a dramatic improvement in the work function. Furthermore, it demonstrated that the shift mechanism of the work function in In2O3 thin films mainly combined with theelimination of oxygen defects and the change of the preferential orientation of In2O3 film surface.

Effect of ultrahigh pressure processing (UHP) on physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity and anti-inflammatory activity of insoluble dietary fiber from Pholiota nameko

        Haiping Li,Xinqi Guo,Xun Zhu,Yina Chen,Limin Zhang,Jiaqi Lu,Qiuting Qian 한국식품과학회 2024 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.33 No.2

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of ultrahigh pressure processing (UHP) of 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 and 700 MPa for 20, 40 and 30 min on physicochemical and bioactive properties of the insoluble dietary fiber Pholiota nameko (PN-IDF). The results revealed that UHP were capable of decreasing the particle size of PN-IDF and binding phenolic content. Moreover, UHP technique had an improving effect on the bioaccessible phenolic content, the water-holding capacity, the oil-holding capacity and the nitrite ion adsorption capacity. Further, UHP technique presented a promoting effect on the antioxidant activity by scavenging ABTS or DPPH free radicals and increasing reducing power, and the anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting carrageenan-induced paw edema on PN-IDF. Overall, this study well proved that UHP technology could improve the physicochemical and functional quality of PN-IDF, which could be used as a promising green technique for functional food ingredients processing.

Attitude Control Design for Hypersonic Reentry Vehicles Subject to Control Direction Reversal via Sliding Mode Approach

        Yixin Ding,Zongyi Guo,Yonglin Han,Jiaqi Wang,Jianguo Guo,Zequn Liu,Jinlong Zhao 한국항공우주학회 2024 International Journal of Aeronautical and Space Sc Vol.25 No.2

This paper investigates the control direction reversal issue for the attitude control design for hypersonic reentry vehicles, and proposes a novel sliding mode control law which addresses the control direction switching and strong robustness requirement simultaneously. Firstly, the disturbance observer is introduced to estimate the unmatched uncertainties in the attitude model of hypersonic reentry vehicles, and then a periodic function-involved sliding mode control is presented and the bounded stability of the closed-loop system is guaranteed via Lyapunov stability theory. The merits of the proposed method lie in that the closed-loop system is stable even under the unknown control direction reversal, and the unmatched uncertainties can be addressed by the disturbance observer. Finally, the simulation verifies the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control.

        Pengfei Li,Lan Chen,Yan Ni,Jiaqi Liu,Donglin Li,Jianxin Guo,Zhihua Liu,Shuangling Jin,Yan Xu,Zhiqiang Li,Lu Wang,Xiaonong Bin,Jinghe Lang,Ping Liu,Chunlin Chen 대한부인종양학회 2021 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.32 No.2

Objective: To compare 5-year disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) rates oflaparoscopic radical hysterectomy (LRH) and abdominal radical hysterectomy (ARH) forstage IB1 and tumor size <2 cm with visible or invisible tumors. Methods: We retrospectively compared the oncological outcomes of 1,484 cervical cancerpatients with IB1 and tumor size <2 cm on final pathology, who received ARH (n=899) or LRH(n=585) between January 2004 and December 2016. Patients were divided into visible tumorsubgroup (ARH: n=668, LRH: n=444) and invisible tumor subgroup (ARH: n=231, LRH:n=141) according to tumor type. Results: LRH and ARH showed similar 5-year DFS and OS rates (93.3% vs. 93.1%, p=0.997;96.2% vs. 97.5%, p=0.351) in total study population. LRH was not associated with worse5-year DFS rate (hazard ratio [HR]=0.96; 95% confidence interval [CI]=0.58–1.58; p=0.871)or OS rate (HR=1.37; 95% CI=0.65–2.89; p=0.409) by multivariable analysis. In the visibletumor subgroups, LRH and ARH showed similar 5-year DFS and OS rates (91.9% vs. 91.9%,p=0.933; 95.0% vs. 96.9%, p=0.276), and LRH was not associated with worse 5-year DFS orOS rate (p=0.804, p=0.324). In the invisible tumor subgroups, LRH and ARH also showedsimilar 5-year DFS and OS rates (97.3% vs. 97.1%, p=0.815; 100% vs. 99.5%, p=0.449), andLRH was not associated with worse 5-year DFS rate (p=0.723). Conclusions: Among patients with stage IB1 and tumor size <2 cm, whether the tumor isvisible or not, the oncological outcomes of LRH and ARH among cervical cancer patients arecomparable. This suggests that LRH may be suitable for stage IB1 and tumor size <2 cm withvisible or invisible tumors.Trial Registration: International Clinical Trials Registry Platform Identifier: CHiCTR180017778

Experimental Study on the Mechanism of Intermittent Water and Mud Inrush Caused by Dredging and Rainfall considering Sedimentary Characteristics in Karst Tunnels

        Xin Huang,Tong Wang,Zhenhao Xu,Zhengguo Zhu,Jiaqi Guo,Peng Lin,Yongchao Tian 대한토목학회 2023 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.27 No.5

The mechanism of intermittent water and mud inrush is a difficult problem faced by disaster prevention and safe construction in karst tunnels. Aiming at revealing the mechanism of intermittent water and mud inrush, we developed an integrated testing system for filling medium deposition in karst caves and intermittent water and mud inrush. By conducting a serial of laboratory experiments, we analyzed the sedimentary characteristics of the filling medium in karst caves and the catastrophic process of intermittent water and mud inrush induced by dredging and rainfall under realistic sedimentary conditions. The results show that the filling medium exhibits layered deposition characteristics, which are affected by the water circulation time, the amount of sediments carried by water and the water flow rate. The first inrush incubation time reduces with the water head increases. The critical water head and the disaster incubation time increase with the deposition height increases. Under the same conditions, the first inrush incubation time of gravel type, silt type, and clay type filling medium decrease sequentially. The results can provide a theoretical basis for preventing intermittent water and mud inrush disasters in karst tunnels.

Acupuncture combined with speech rehabilitation training for post-stroke dysarthria: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

        Qianwen Xie,Xueyin Chen,Jingmin Xiao,Shaonan Liu,Lihong Yang,Jing Chen,Jiaqi Lai,Rui Lan,Yi Chen,Haifang Yang,Xinfeng Guo 한국한의학연구원 2020 Integrative Medicine Research Vol.9 No.4

Background: The evidence of Acupuncture combined with speech rehabilitation training for post-stroke dysarthria is insufficient and there is no consensus on its efficacy. Methods: We searched seven Chinese and English medicine databases for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from their inception to November 2019. The primary outcome measure was the clinical response rate, assessed with the Frenchay Dysarthria Assessment (FDA) tool. We assessed risk of bias using the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool. We used GRADE to assess the certainty of evidence (CoE). Results: Thirty studies were included in this systematic review, 23 of which were pooled in meta-analysis. Acupuncture combined with speech rehabilitation training is likely beneficial for was response rate (n = 1685; RR = 1.37; 95% CI [1.29, 1.46], P < 0.01, I2 = 34%; 17 studies, low CoE) compared to speech rehabilitation treatment alone. Conclusion: The combination of acupuncture and speech rehabilitation training may improve total response rate of stroke patients with dysarthria. However, more RCTs with rigorous study design and validated outcome measures are needed to confirm the evidence.

Influence of Lateral Pressure on the Mechanical Performance of Bolted Specimens under Biaxial Compression

        Shuxue Ding,Peilin Jiang,Jing Qiao,Hua Nan,Lei Xu,Jiaqi Guo,Sijiang Wei 대한토목학회 2024 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.28 No.1

The influence of lateral pressure (2) on the stability of the surrounding rock of roadway increases after excavation. The rock bolt is usually used to improve the stability of the surrounding rock. Therefore, it is important to understand the biaxial compressive behaviors of the bolted samples influenced by lateral pressure. In this study, biaxial compression experiments are carried out to investigate the biaxial compressive properties of bolted rock samples influenced by lateral pressure. The results show that bolting can improve the peak strength, inhibit the post-peak strength attenuation and reduce the pre-peak brittleness of the bolted rock mass. With the increase of lateral pressure, the strength and elastic modulus of the bolted samples increases approximately parabolic and linearly, respectively. The failure modes of the bolted samples influenced by lateral pressure can be divided into splitting failure and compression-shear failure. A reinforcement mechanism of bolt is observed, namely axial action, axial and transverse action at the pre- and post-peak stages of the bolted samples. Based on a modified true triaxial Mohr-Coulomb strength criterion and this bolt reinforcement mechanism, a new method for calculating the equivalent cohesion and equivalent internal friction angle of the bolted specimens under biaxial compression is proposed. The research results of this paper have certain reference value for the stability control of roadway
