        The best aim of the operation of nuclear power plant is its safety and reliability. So the purpose of this paper is to develop a hybrid system for diagnosis and treatment of nuclear power plant turbine, in order to improve safety and reliability of the operation of turbine. The proposed system can not only diagnose abnormal status of turbine but also propose appropriate treatment procedure for the diagnosed status, based on the results of diagnosis. The hybrid system developed in this paper is composed of an expert system with knowledge base and inference engine, nam-machine interface with hypertext and graphic screens, and databases for failure recording and treatment suggestion. The causes of the failure of turbine can be identified in two step diagnosis. In the first diagnosis step, causes are checked by the operators with the location and characteristics of the frequencies and nose. Based on the first diagnosis, the detailed analysis are performed with data from sensors and monitors of the turbine. The expecting effect of this system is to improve the turbine operation reliability, to organize the knowledge of diagnosis and treatment procedure, and to help judgement and decision-making of operators.

        The purpose of this thesis is to get data which need to set up the positive directions for Coeducational Technical High School. To attain these data, Technical High School boy and girl students' consciousness of career was examined, and then their consciousness levels of career, choices of career, views for getting a job, and states of career education were compared and analyzed. The main points to accomplish the purpose of this thesis are as follows : 1. Do Technical High School students' motives of entrance and major choice indicate a meaningful difference by both sexes? 2.         The purpose of this study is to develop a computer support system for the inspection of the outfitting arrangement of a ship design, which will increase the accuracy and the effectiveness of the inspection process. This system is integrated with a ORACLE database for transferring and storing 3D CAD data into the inspection system, and a dVISE virtual reality system for displaying the attributes of entities and the inspection results.

        The purpose of this study is to develop an integrated maintenance system which can improve the efficiency of maintenance of the power generating system for nuclear power plant. Standardization of maintenance processes is established and, as a result, the process is broken into 18 dissembly steps and 14 assembly steps. All the related information, such as detailed working procedure, reference data, tool/equipment list, required man power, etc, are integrated to each steps. Appling this integrated system, it is expected that set-up time and maintenance cost can be reduced, through the elimination of unnecessary resources input.

        The purpose of this study is to develop a system for the inspection of the outfitting arrangement design of for a ship design, which will increase the reliability and the efficiency of the inspection process. The system is composed of four major modules; material inspection module at the pipe piece level, material inspection module at the service level, tank-penetrating pipe piece inspection module, and the basic information management module. This system is integrated with a ORACLE database, for transferring and storing 3D CAD data into the inspection system, and a dVISE virtual reality system, for displaying the inspection results.

        들깨 유전자원의 단백질함량과 지방 및 지방산 특성

        공시된 들깨 지방재래종 90개 품종의 단백질함량, 지방 및 지방산을 분석한 결과 다음과 같다. 1. 숙기별로는 중ㆍ만생종의 평균단백질 함량은 22.4%로 비교적 낮았고, 품종분포가 대부분 평균치에 가까웠으며, 조생종은 평균단백질 함량이 24.1%로 비교적 높았다. 2. 평균단백질함량은 소립종(천립중3.0~4.0g이하)이 23.0%로, 중립종(천립중 4.0~5.0g)이나 대립종(천립중 5.0~6.0g)의 22.1%보다 높은 경향이었다. 3. 기름함량은 조생종이 42.6%로 가장 적었고, 중생종이 44.5%, 만생종이 45.5%로 기름함량이 많았으며, 립중별로는 소립종이 44.2%, 중립종이 43.1%, 대립종이 41.5% 대립종일수록 낮은 경향이었다. 4. 지방산조성은 숙기가 늦어짐에 따라 Oleic acid와 Linolenic acid는 다소 많았고, Linoleic acid는 적어지는 경향이었다. Linoleic acid는 극대립종에서 15.5%로 가장 높았고 립중이 가벼울수록 높아지는 경향이었다. 5. 기름함량과 지방산 비율간의 상관 정도를 보면 기름함량과 Palmitic acid, Linoleic acid는 負의 상관이나, Stearic acid, Linolenic acid는 正의 상관을 보였다. Stearic acid는 Oleic acid와 유의적인 정의 상관을 , Linoleic acid와는 부의 상관을 보였다. Oleic acid는 Linoleic acid 및 Linolenic acid와 고도로 유의한 부의 상관을, Linoleic acid는 Linolenic acid와, 포화지방산은 불포화지방산과 유의한 부의 상관을 보였다. Korean local collected strains or varieties of perilla analyzed on their protein and oil content and fatty acids composition in the seed. The strains analyzed were 90 of which grown in the experimental field of Chungbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services at Cheongwon and Umseong from 2001 to 2002. The seed protein contents of 90 perilla varieties ranged from 19.1% to 29.0% and the average content was 22.8%. There differed by the seed coat color showing 1.9% higher content in light gray than that of dark brown, which may suggest that the seed coat color could be used as a marker gene for breeding high protein varieties. Oil content of medium and late varieties in maturity showed higher as compared to early varieties, and appeared differences by seed coat color, and small seed varieties showed higher seed oil content than in large seed varieties by seed size. Linoleic and linolenic acid content of which major fatty acids in perilla seed were 74.4% in average of tested varieties. Fatty acid composition of perilla varieties were not significantly different by maturity, seed coat color and 1,000 seed weight. Oil content showed high positive correlation, with stearic and linolenic acids and negative correlation with linoleic acid.

      • Automation and Robotics in the Construction Industry

        This paper addresses three areas of concern when trying to implement automation technology into the construction industry. In the first section, the characteristics of the construction industry are described, and then are compared with the manufacturing industry. This is necessary in order to understand the difficulties in the direct transfer of automation technologies from the manufacturing industry to the construction industry. In the second section, a brief history of the construction automation research effort is described by analyzing the papers published in the last ten proceedings of the International Symposium on Automation and Robotics in Construction. In the third and final section, research effort on the following topics is described, the driving forces for construction automation, the identification of tasks having the most need for automation, and the economic evaluation methodology.

      • Development 0f An Automation Need Assessment Model For A Construction Process

        This research endeavor is focused on the development of an automation need assessment model for a construction process to aid the contractor's decision making process regarding the implementation of automation technology into a construction process. In order to break the construction process into a list of tasks, taxonomy analysis is preceded. Through the Time-Benefit-Technology (TBT) method, an Automation Need Index (ANI) is computed to quantify the automation potential of each task in the process. The TBT method is composed of three factors; the time portion factor, the benefit level factor, and the technology availability factor.

      • A Study on Strong Strategic Alliance Model in Express Courier Service Network

        Since the 1990s, the demand for thedirect shipment of purchased goods by express couriers has increased, which has led to the proliferation of express courier companies during the past two decades. As a result, the courier service industry has been characterized by an increase in the number of facilities such as service centers and terminals and delivery vehicles. So there are severe competition particularly among small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and inefficient use of national resources. Furthermore, it is often the case that the operations of facilities owned by individual companies are characterized by low rates of utilization. Especially the service center has poor utilization if daily demand for shipment is very low. Hence, it has been suggested that cooperative strategic alliances in the operation of service centers may benefit participating companies. Also sharing the terminals may be beneficial to the companies. Such a strategic alliance may help these companies improve their declining profitability by reducing the total operating cost and eliminating overlapped investments. This study proposes a network design model for strategic alliances among small and medium size express courier service companies that places the companies in a win-win alliance relationship. An integer programming model and its solution procedure based on a maxmin criterion are also developed. To illustrate the efficiency of the model, we present a numerical example and test it by applying the model to the example.
