The virtualized systems are today a very popular topic and their using plays the great role in current datacenters. The virtualization efficiency is a very important aspect in the real system deployment. Some studies have been published about this topic [1], mainly are based on various benchmarking techniques and are integrated into the specialized testing tools. Such a benchmark tool, which is able to simulate the behavior of a real computing system under the stress of different virtualization configurations, can e.g. well answer the question how many virtual machines could be simultaneously executed on it and how big the virtualization overhead is [2]. We developed and applied a new benchmark tool, which is able to measure the virtualization efficiency and overhead in the virtualization environment.

New Approach for Virtual Machines Consolidation In Heterogeneous Computing Systems

The energy consumption is one of the most important factors in the virtual machines deployment in the current data centres. Various studies proved that the energy aware management of the virtual machines can reduce the total energy consumption about tens of percents. We developed the new approach, based on the distributed algorithm, which is able to consolidate the virtual machines between various virtualization nodes without the central coordinator. The input data for this algorithm is collected online from the electronic wattmeters, which are placed before the energy input of each virtualization node.

Ultrasonic Treatment of Ti-5Al-0.5 V Alloy Subjected to Equal-Channel Angular Pressing

Microstructure and room temperature mechanical properties of α-titanium alloy Ti-5Al-0.5 V subjected to equal channelangular pressing (ECAP) and subsequent ultrasonic treatment (UST) have been studied. The ECAP was carried out at 600 °Cby route Bcand the UST at the frequency of 20 kHz and amplitude of compression-tension stresses of 100 MPa for processingtime of 60 s. The dislocation densities after ECAP and subsequent UST were estimated by x-ray diffraction and positronlifetime spectroscopy. By the latter, vacancy concentration also was determined. It has been shown that UST results in avery little increase in the dislocation density and vacancy concentration and has no considerable effect on the mechanicalproperties of the ECAP-ed titanium alloys. Basing on the data obtained and earlier published results of computer simulationsof the behavior of nonequilibrium grain boundaries in Ni and Ti under the action of ultrasound it is concluded thatthe structural transformations in Ti under UST occur at much higher stresses than in Ni, in which UST results in significantmodifications of the structure and properties.

Nutritional Neuroscience as Mainstream of Psychiatry: The Evidence- Based Treatment Guidelines for Using Omega-3 Fatty Acids as a New Treatment for Psychiatric Disorders in Children and Adolescents

Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (or omega-3 PUFAs, n-3 PUFAs) are essential nutrients throughout the life span. Recent studies have shown the importance of n-3 PUFAs supplementation during prenatal and perinatal period as a potential protective factor of neurodevelopmental disorders. N-3 PUFAs have been reported to be lower in youth with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and major depressive disorder (MDD). N-3 PUFAs supplementation has shown potential effects in the improvement of clinical symptoms in youth with ADHD, ASD, and MDD, especially those with high inflammation or a low baseline n-3 index. Moreover, it has been suggested that n-3 PUFAs had positive effects on lethargy and hyperactivity symptoms in ASD. For clinical application, the following dosage and duration are recommended in youth according to available randomized controlled trials and systemic literature review: (1) ADHD: a combination of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) + docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) ≥ 750 mg/d, and a higher dose of EPA (1,200 mg/d) for those with inflammation or allergic diseases for duration of 16−24 weeks; (2) MDD: a combination of a EPA + DHA of 1,000−2,000 mg/d, with EPA:DHA ratio of 2 to 1, for 12−16 weeks; (3) ASD: a combination of EPA + DHA of 1,300−1,500 mg/d for 16−24 weeks as add-on therapy to target lethargy and hyperactivity symptoms. The current review also suggested that n-3 index and inflammation may be potential treatment response markers for youth, especially in ADHD and MDD, receiving n-3 PUFA.

(Un)Becoming English: Performing Nationality and Motherhood in Daniel Defoe’s The Fortunate Mistress, or Roxana

This article investigates Roxana’s turbulent national performance by attending to the relationship between Turkishness and Englishness expressed through the protagonist’s two names, “Roxana” and “Mother.” Arguing that Roxana’s impulse for cultural masquerade originates from her nebulous national heritage, this paper examines how the name “Roxana” generates vexing questions about the protagonist’s sense of social belonging. Specifically, I examine how Roxana’s political performance finds its most troubling expression through her negotiation with English motherhood. Roxana’s pseudo-Turkishness, rather than obscuring her Englishness, corroborates her identity as an English mother. Put another way, Roxana’s oriental naming was contingent on, not contrary to, an English model of discursive selfhood that Roxana refuses to express through her maternal body. She unmothers herself, even when her monstrous motherhood dubs her Englishness as unbecoming. That said, the article attempts to show why Roxana compulsively applies for a cosmopolitan citizenship that belies her nationality and race, further identifying how Turkishness and Englishness, two seemingly disparate identities, converge through Roxana’s maternal body. Roxana, then, posits the origin of Englishness not as engendered by Enlightenment thoughts of endoculturalism or the self-enclosed domestic household, but from the ruptures heralded by a cosmopolitan transaction of the maternal body posing as the Other.

The Impact of Digital Communications on Consumer Perceptions of Sport Celebrity Transgressions

Whilst the use of sport celebrities in marketing strategies is growing in popularity it is not without risk. The increasing reliance on scandal by the news media to capture audience attention, has accelerated the interest in sport-celebrity transgressions. This research adopts an netnographic method to analyze over seven thousand comments from online forums about sport celebrity transgressions. We found that consumers were more likely to express negative comments in relation to transgressions that violated moral, ethical and/or legal norms and that this in turn was most likely to effect the perceived role model ability of a sport celebrity. We provide evidence that the communication behavior of sport fans in a digital communication medium extends the life of a transgression in the public domain. Finally, we noted sport fans exhibited higher levels of engagement and willingness to participate in debate in these mediums than observed in other types of online communities.

“A Negro Can Change Colour”: Racializing Gender and Virtue in Thomas Southerne`s Oroonoko

This paper reads the racial blanching of Imoinda. Aphra Bohn`s African heroine, in Thomas Southerne`s Oroonoko as a performance based on cultural forgetting, to use Joseph Roach`s term. Specifically. Southerne`s play manifests the association of female virtue and white Englishness as a carefully constructed cultural legacy resting on Transatlantic crossing. Seven years after Behn published her novella. Southerne wrote a dramatic adaptation in which Imoinda turns into a white European woman. By removing the black female body. Southerne erases the history of master-slave rape in which black slaves were sexually exploited. Instead, be enables Imoinda to refashion herself as a Lockean individual who claims to own property in herself despite her servile status. In a period when race was yet a slippery and elusive category. Southerne renders whiteness the social fabric on which female virtue can be depicted. Yet Imoinda`s whiteness bears not only on the white women of England, but also on the black slaves of Surinam. Put another way. virtue is made recognizable through Imoinda`s white masking as a displacement of die black body; Imoinda, in this sense, embodies a creole whiteness. Imoinda whose bleached body travels in the Transatlantic world, signifies the turbulent yet intimate relationship between England and the American colonics. Southerne`s Imoinda, I argue, is the reincarnation of the dead, violated, and forgotten bodies of the black female slaves, making visible tire untold sexual history of the Transatlantic. In this sense, Imoinda is both black and white, self and ether, remote and near. Southern this taps into the discourse of gender, race, and virtue that becomes pivotal in die construction of English consciousness; the white female body becomes the site on which gendered virtue is performed, but only at the cost of erasing a Transatlantic awareness that in turn shaped the national imagination.

ARTISTS IN SCHOOLS: A CASE STUDY OF THE ARTS-IN-EDUCATION PROJECT

최근 예술교육개혁의 목표는 학교 단위의 예술 교과과정의 발달을 위해서 학교에 더 많은 자치권을 허용하고, 예술에서의 우선권을 수행하기 위해 학생들에게 더욱 더 새로운 형태의 공간을 제공하는 등의 실제 현장에서의 장점을 만드는 것이다. 이 연구에서는 홍콩의 2개의 고등학교에서 시도된 학교 교육과정, 학생의 학습과 예술가와의 협력에 관한 “교육에서의 예술” 프로젝트의 효과를 조사하였다. 음악적 생산물에 대해 공식적인 시간과 비공식적인 시간 동안 학교교사와 협력적으로 일한 예술가에 대한 사례연구 결과는 특별한 시간표 조정과 같은 학교 지원이 성공적인 모델을 조장할 수 있다는 사실을 보여주었다. 효과적인 학생학습에 공헌한 다른 요인들은 예술가의 헌신, 강력한 예술가와 학교의 협력, 공통의 목적, 학교 당국과 학부모의 지원에 의한 충분한 자금과 자원 등이다. 레슨 참관, 인터뷰, 그룹토론과 프로젝트 서류로부터 수집된 질적 데이터는 예술과 상반되는 다른 분야와 상호간의 접근법에 성공적 요소들로 나타났다. 반면에 중요한 문제는 교육자들이 최근의 교육정책에 대응할 때 특별한 관심을 기울이는 것이 필요하다는 사실이다.
