        A Study on Body Narrative in New Media Art - Focusing on “Relative Space”

        Since ancient times, the body as a form of narrative has existed in a wide range of art forms. From ancient Greece to the second half of the 20th century, with the development of society, peoples understanding of the body has undergone a great change from the ternary theory of body and mind to the return of the body to its own nature. This paper researches body narration in new media art, and takes HOU JING’s work “Relative Space” as the main line. Furthermore, it uses the structure of thematic research to explore the basic artistic connotation conveyed by the body as a media tool.

        Identification and expression specificity of chemosensory genes in the male reproductive system of Spodoptera exigua

        Some chemosensory genes are found to be expressed specifically or highly in the male reproductive system, suggesting their importance in male reproductive physiology. In this paper, we identified chemosensory genes expressed in the male reproductive system of the moth pest Spodoptera exigua by transcriptome and proteome sequencing, and further determined expression patterns of these genes regarding antennae and different tissues of the male reproductive system (testes, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, ejaculatory ducts, male accessory glands) by the real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR). Transcriptome analysis showed that 46 chemosensory genes were expressed in the male reproductive system of S. exigua, including 18 odorant binding proteins (OBPs), 12 che mosensory proteins (CSPs), 10 odorant receptors (ORs) and 6 other chemosensory genes. Further qPCR mea surements revealed that 14 chemosensory genes were expressed specifically or highly in the male reproductive tissues, relative to that in male antennae. Of the 14 genes, OBP17, OBP22, OBP27 and GR43 were specifically expressed in the testes; OBP20 was specifically expressed in the vas deferens; and PBP4 was specifically expressed in the male accessory glands. In addition, proteome data of the spermatophore confirmed that at least 4 OBPs and one CSP were transmitted from males to females, suggesting their function in the reproductive physiology of mated females. The results provide insights into the functional diversity of chemosensory genes, and bases for exploring functions of these chemosensory genes in male reproductive physiology.

        독일 실험 애니메이션〈균형〉의 서사 분석 연구

        실험 애니메이션은 아방가르드적인 예술영화이다. 실험 애니메이션은 작가주의 애니메이션의 이데올로기적인 표현형식으로 전통 애니메이션의 경계를 넘어 새로운 영역을 개척해 왔다. 실험 애니메이션의 서사 방식은 작가의 생각을 표현하는 주요 수단으로 애니메이션의 내용과 형식의 분석과 해석에도 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 애니메이션 <균형>(Balance)은 독일의 프로듀서이자 애니메이션 아티스트인 크리스토프 라우엔슈타인(Christoph Lauenstein)과 울프강 라우엔슈타인이(Wolfgang Lauenstein)1989년에 제작한 단편 실험 애니메이션으로 1990년 제62회 아카데미 단편 애니메이션상을 수상했다. 실험적인 애니메이션 <균형>은 러닝타임 7분인 애니메이션이지만 독일인 특유의 표현방식으로 ‘인간성이 적나라하게 드러나는 양상’을 균형의 요체로 표현했다. <균형>은 간결하고 대사가 없는 특수한 서사 방식으로 인간의 본성을 원초적으로 보여주며 관객의 마음속 깊이 인간관계를 성찰하게 한다. 직관적이면서 은유적인 표현으로, 가상의 무대이면서 동시에 현실의 인간관계를 둘러싸고 있는 인간의 원시적인 욕망을 잘 표현하였다. 실험 애니메이션의 조형 언어 분석에 관한 선행연구들은 주로 시각적 표현 방식을 분석하지만, 최근 다양한 표현형식과 소재가 애니메이션에 수용되면서, 서사에 있어서도 표현방식이 개성적으로 다양해지면서 연구에 대한 필요성이 요구되고 있다. 하지만 현재 국내 애니메이션, 특히 실험용 애니메이션 서사에 대한 이론적 연구가 거의 진행되고 있지 않다. 따라서 비록 독일의 실험용 애니메이션 <균형>의 서사 분석 연구이지만, 애니메이션 <균형>의 캐릭터의 조형, 색채, 대사, 도구 및 사용되는 숫자의 의미를 분석하여, 이 작품에 등장하는 캐릭터와 다양한 조형 요소들의 내재적 연계와 이론적 해석을 통하여 작품 수용에 있어서 이론적 근거를 제공할 수 있기를 바란다. Experimental animation is a kind of experimental film and television art. In the historical process of animation development, the creators of experimental animation continue to breakthrough the boundaries of animation consciousness and provide new ideas and inspirations. As the main means for creators to express their ideas, the narrative mode in experimental animation plays a very important role in the exploration and creation of animation narrative content and form. German experimental animation “Balance” is an experimental animated short film produced by German producers and animation artists Christophe Lauen stein and Wolfgang Lauen stein in 1989. It won the academy Award for Best Animated Short film at the 62nd Academy Awards in 1990. “Balance” only seven minutes, through agroup of freeze frames to explain the Unique German way of thinking, the nake dindividual humanity and the true meaning of balance. The film uses a simple, brief and special way of narration without dialogue to spread out human nature naked in front of us, which is popular and deeply reflected in the minds of the audience, bringing infinite spiritual shock to the audience. From the intuition and hint, from the rationality in and around the virtual reality, a life philosophy to do the best explanation. In animation, audio and visual language studies, although experimental animation in order to explore visual expression, but because of the diversification of expression in the narrative way has its own particularity, which is very has the value of in-depth study, but the current domestic animation, especially for experimental animation narrative theory research isvery scarce. So based on the experimental animation “balance” in Germany, for example, by analyzing the role modelling, colour, dialogue, prop sand the use of digital meaning, hope in experimental animation special narrative dig up more inner link and theoretical insights and application level, for the animation creator to provide more theoretical basis in the actual creation.

        Development of a Novel 30 kV Solid-state Switch for Damped Oscillating Voltage Testing System

        This paper describes the design and development of a novel semiconductor-based solid-state switch for damped oscillating voltage test system. The proposed switch is configured as two identical series-connected switch stacks, each of which comprising 10 series-connected IGBT function units. Each unit consists of one IGBT, a gate driver, and an auxiliary voltage sharing circuit. A single switch stack can block 20 kV-rated high voltage, and two stacks in series are proven applicable to 30 kV-rated high voltage. The turn-on speed of the switch is approximately 250 ns. A flyback topology-based power supply system with a front-end power factor correction is built for the drive circuit by loosely inductively coupling each unit with a ferrite core to the primary side of a power generator to obtain the advantages of galvanic isolation and compact size. After the simulation, measurement, and estimation of the parasitic effect on the gate driver, a prototype is assembled and tested under different operating regimes. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the performance of the developed prototype.

      • Controlled Growth of Well-Defined Conjugated Polymers from the Surfaces of Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes: Photoresponse Enhancement <i>via</i> Charge Separation

        <P>The installation of heterojunctions on the surfaces of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is an effective method for promoting the charge separation processes needed for CNT-based electronics and optoelectronics applications. Conjugated polymers are proven state-of-the-art candidates for modifying the surfaces of CNTs. However, all previous attempts to incorporate conjugated polymers to CNTs resulted in unordered interfaces. Herein we show that well-defined chains of regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) were successfully grown from the surfaces of multiwalled CNTs (MWNTs) using surface-initiated Kumada catalyst-transfer polycondensation. The polymerization was found to proceed in a controlled manner as chains of tunable lengths were prepared through variation of the initial monomer-to-initiator ratio. Moreover, it was determined that large-diameter MWNTs afforded highly ordered P3HT aggregates, which exhibited a markedly bathochromically shifted optical absorption due to a high grafting density induced planarization of the polymer chains. Using ultrafast spectroscopy, the heterojunctions formed between the MWNTs and P3HT were shown to effectively overcome the binding energy of excitons, leading to photoinduced electron transfer from P3HT to MWNTs. Finally, when used as prototype devices, the individual MWNT-g-P3HT core-shell structures exhibited excellent photoresponses under a low illumination density.</P>

        Device-to-Device Relay Cooperative Transmission Based on Network Coding

        Due to the advantages of low transmit power consumption, high spectral efficiency and extended system coverage, Device-to-Device (D2D) communication has drawn explosive attention in wireless communication field. Considering that intra-cell interference caused between cellular signals and D2D signals, in this paper, a network coding-based D2D relay cooperative transmission algorithm is proposed. Under D2D single-hop relay transmission mode, cellular interfering signals can be regarded as useful signals to code with D2D signals at D2D relay node. Using cellular interfering signals and network coded signals, D2D receiver restores the D2D signals to achieve the effect of interference suppression. Theoretical analysis shows that, compared with Amplify-and-forward (AF) mode and Decode-and-forward (DF) mode, the proposed algorithm can dramatically increase the link achievable rate. Furthermore, simulation experiment verifies that by employing the proposed algorithm, the interference signals in D2D communication can be eliminated effectively, and meanwhile the symbol error rate (SER) performance can be improved.

      • Bifurcations of A Third-Order Common-Base Transistor Circuit

        This paper reports the dynamics and a great variety of one parameter bifurcation phenomena observed in the laboratory and confirmed by extensive computer simulations for the circuit reported firstly in [2]. The circuit consists of five elements, where the only nonlinear element is a common-base transistor pair with the characteristics of a current-controlled nonlinear resistor. Several strange attractors, the intermittent attractor, periodic windows, cascades of period doubling, period plus two and period minus one phenomena are observed by adjusting the value of L₁. The computer simulation results agree with the experiment results quite nicely. Hopf bifurcation is proved mathematically and the Lyapunov dimensions of several chaotic attractors are derived to confirm the existence of chaos.

        Identification, fine mapping and characterization of Rht-dp, a recessive wheat dwarfing (reduced height) gene derived from Triticum polonicum

        Semi-dwarfism is an agronomically important trait in breeding for resistance to damage by wind and rain (lodging resistance)and for stable high yields. Dwarf Polish wheat (Triticum polonicum L., 2n = 4x = 28, AABB AS304) is a potential donor of dwarfing and other traits for common wheat improvement. A genetic analysis using an F2 population derived from a cross of AS304 and tall cultivar AS302 and derived F2:3 lines indicated that AS304 carries a recessive dwarfing gene, temporarily designated Rht-dp. Molecular markers and bulked segregant analysis were used to characterize and map the gene. Eight polymorphic SSR markers (Xwmc511, Xgwm495, Xgwm 113, Xgwm192, Xgpw7026, Xgpw3017, Xgpw1108 and Xgpw7521) on chromosome arm 4BS and two AFLP markers (M8/E5 and M4/E3) were mapped relative to the dwarfing locus. The closest linked markers, Xgpw3017 and M8/E5 at 0.5 and 3.5 cM, respectively, from Rht-dp will enable its marker assisted transfer to wheat breeding populations. Allelic tests indicated that Rht-dp was allelic to Rht-B1b; hence it may be an alternative allele at the Rht-B1 locus.
