      • 안와 내벽 외향 골절의 내시경적 비내 재건술

        The orbital blowout fracture occurs when a convex object(usually a baseball and a fist) larger in diameter than orbital rim strikes the orbit, increasing intraorbital pressure and producing hydraulic forces in all directions, which explodes the bony margin. The most frequently site of fracture is the bony floor in the region of the infraorbital canal, less frequently medial orbital wall, that is, lamina papyracea. Medial orbital wall fractures are also seen with other types of facial fractures such as frontal, nasoethmoid, and maxillary injuries. With the advent of nasal endoscope, endoscopic intranasal reconstruction has substituted for external approach. We experienced a case of blowout fracture of left medial orbital wall, which was treated with endoscopic intranasal reconstruction method and report this case with the review of the literature.

      • 실리카 입자를 함유한 광경화형 도료 물성

        We investigated the effects of nano-silica on the kinetic and film properties of UV curable coatings. Coating properties such as hardness, gloss, chemical and stain resistances and adhesion of the UV cured films containing various concentration of nano-silica were investigated. The matting, pencil hardness, chemical resistance, and abrasion resistances were apparently improved Via addition of nano-silica. Pendulum hardness was also enhanced with the increasing content of nano-silica up to 5 weight percent. However, the pendulum hardness and the adhesion decreased as nano-silica content increased above 10 weight percent. DPC analysis revealed that the presence of nano-silica in UV curable coating formulation enhanced photo curing. It was demonstrated that hardness. abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance of UV cured film can be increased without loss of optical properties through nanocomposite.

        Frontoethmoidal sinus mucocele usually presents with frontal headache, exophthalmos and diplopia. Over the years it has necessitated either a conservative or a radical procedure. However, recently endoscopic sinus surgery has afforded to decrease the operative morbidity, and image the sinus postoperatively without problem. We have experienced a case of frontoethmoidal sinus mucocele which was satisfactorily treated with endoscopic marsupialization. Till now, no disease recurrence has been noted with endoscopic follow-up for 5 months. The etiology, characteristic features, and treatment of frontoethmoidal mucocele were reviewed.

      • 중이 수술후 청력 변화에 대한 임상적 고찰

        statistical analysis of bone conduction loss in chronic otitis media has not been exactly reported until now. Authors studied the relationship between the preoperative bone conduction hearing level and age, nature of middle ear and temporal bone pathology, pneumatization of mastoid in 97 ears of chronic uppurative otitis media performed middle ear surgery at Konkuk University Hospital from March 1992 to December 1992. The results were as following: The mean bone conduction threshold was 16.2±12.4dB. In the cases of ossicular defect, bone conduction loss was greater in total destruction than in partial destruction with statistical significance. Among ossicular defect, incus destruction group showed more bone conduction loss than intact incus group with statistical significance. There was no difference of bone conduction loss according to pathologic findings in middle ear cavity and mastoid antrum, but pathologic groups showed more bone conduction loss than control group with normal temporal bone pneumatization with statistical significance. Comparing pneumatization of mastoid antrum and mastoid process, there was statistically significant bone conduction loss in orders of pneumatic type, diploic type, sclerotic type, cholesteatoma cavity. There was no difference of bone conduction hearing level according to age, sex, and duration of disease process with statistical significance. The results suggest that the bone conduction threshold in chronic otitis media is influenced by artificial elevation due to conductive defect and can be improved by reconstructive surgery.Many patients being followed for chronic suppuration of the middle ear were observed to have sensorineural or mixed type hearing loss. The major cause of this bone conduction loss might be secondary to cochlear biochemical changes occuring through the round window membrane. But, clinical and statistical analysis of bone conduction loss in chronic otitis media has not been exactly reported until now.       • GIS에서 질의의 결과로 얻은 정보의 그래픽을 이용한 디스플레이 방법에 관한 연구

        In this paper, an existing GIS Gothic is investigated to find out how geometric information is handfor efficient display in GIS. For the purpose, first, we study the overall structure of the Gothic system. Then, display-related modules are identi-fied and the relationship among the modules are investigated. In the Gothic system, display modules are organized as frames and the frames are built in C-like language LULL and by calling display-related library functions. Prime display-related libraries are Auto Display Library, Plotting Library, Display Library, and Representation Library. Based on the analysis, we propose an advanced display strategies, which include expansion of the libraries, frames, and task-based functions and effective use of ADE plus, which is a development environment provided by Gothic system.

      • 3차원 곡면의 지역적 순정에 관한 연구

        The reverse engineering is commonly used in the product design. For the reverse engineering, existing products are digitized for the computer modeling. Using the digitized data, surfaces are modeled for the new products. However, in the digitizing process, measuring errors or deviations can be happened very often. Therefore, it is very important to handle such measuring errors or deviations during the computer modeling. If the errors are ignored, modeling results can be undesirable. To handle the errors, fairing process is performed. In this paper, we investigate surface fairing based on various fairness metrics. Fairness metrics can be discrete. Discrete metrics are used when a point set is given as an input. In this paper, we adopt discrete metrics for fairing given 3D points. The fairness metrics include curvature. In this paper, automatic fairing process is proposed for fairing given 3D point sets for surfaces. The process uses various fairness criteria so that it is adequate to adopt designers' intents.
