Optimal design of the direct-driven PM Wind Generator, combined with DEAS(Dynamic Encoding Algorithm for Searches) and FEM(Finite Element Method), has been proposed to maximize the Annual Energy Production(AEP) over the whole wind speed characterized by the statistical model of wind speed distribution. In particular, DEAS has been contributed to reducing the excessive computing time for the optimization process.
눈물주머니염 유무에 따른 환자군의 특성과 내시경적 눈물주머니코안연결술 후 만족도 비교

목적: 눈물주머니염의 유무에 따른 내시경적 눈물주머니코안연결술을 시행 받은 각 환자군의 특성과 수술 후 만족도를 비교해 보고자하였다. 대상과 방법: 2011년 5월부터 2015년 12월까지 동국대학교경주병원에서 코눈물관 폐쇄 진단 아래 본원에서 내시경적 눈물주머니코안연결술을 시행한 환자 116명 156안을 대상으로 술 전 눈물주머니염 증상을 보였던 환자군과 눈물주머니염이 없던 환자군을 대상으로 각 환자군의 특성을 후향적으로 분석하고 수술 후 만족도를 전화 설문을 통해 조사하였다. 결과: 술 전 눈물주머니염 증상을 보였던 환자군은 58명(66안), 눈물주머니염이 없던 환자군은 58명(90안)이었으며 대상 환자의 평균연령은 64.9세였다. 각 환자군에서의 평균 증상기간은 각각 11개월, 20개월로 술 전 눈물주머니염 증상을 보였던 환자군에서 짧은증상기간을 나타내었다(p<0.05). 동반질환과 눈물주머니염의 발생과의 상관관계는 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다(p>0.05). 수술 후 시행한 만족도 설문 결과 술 전 눈물주머니염을 보였던 환자군에서 더 만족하는 결과를 나타내었으며 이는 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내었다(p<0.05). 결론: 술 전 눈물주머니염 증상을 보였던 환자군에서 증상기간이 짧았으며 수술 후 만족도가 높았다. 따라서 눈물주머니염이 없는 환자의 경우 수술 후 만족도가 눈물주머니염이 있는 환자군에 비해 떨어질 수 있으므로 이 점을 염두에 둘 필요가 있을 것으로 생각된다. Purpose: To compare characteristics in patients with and without previous dacryocystitis and satisfaction after endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 156 eyes of 116 patients who underwent endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy at our Hospital from May 2011 to December 2015. The patients were grouped into those with pre-operative dacryocystitis and those without dacryocystitis. Each patient group was characterized retrospectively, followed by a telephone survey regarding post-operative satisfaction. Results: Fifty-eight patients (66 eyes) had dacryocystitis, whereas 58 patients (90 eyes) did not. Patients mean age was 64.9 years old. The mean duration of symptoms in patients with and without dacryocystitis was 11 and 20 months, respectively, showing a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05). The correlation between comorbidities and dacryocystitis was statistically insignificant(p > 0.05). Post-operative satisfaction was higher in patients with dacryocystitis, showing a statistically significant difference(p < 0.05). Conclusions: Patients with pre-operative dacryocystitis were characterized by a shorter duration of symptoms and higher post-operative satisfaction. This finding implies that post-operative satisfaction could be lower in patients without dacryocystitis, which should be noted.

Since traction motors for powertrain of electric vehicles have a wide operating range, they are not equally efficient at every speed and torque condition. Typically, powertrain system of electric vehicles consists of traction motor and single speed gearbox, but this configuration is not enough to get optimal fuel economy and driving performance for real-world driving cycles which have different characteristics simultaneously. A multi-speed configuration of powertrain could reduce the electric energy consumption without degradation of drviving performance, evne if the traction motor power is reduced.

<P>Numerical design coupled with finite-element method (FEM) has been performed for realizing the adaptive efficiency distribution of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) compatible to the frequent operating range of electric vehicle. In particular, the target operating region is specified with the representative driving modes of heavy-duty vehicle in Braunschweig and Seoul. Considering various control strategies, the dominant electromagnetic losses throughout the whole operating region of IPMSM are numerically identified in association with FEM and employed as design target to minimize. Furthermore, the purposely designed prototype is experimentally validated via the resultant efficiency map built-up by static and dynamic dynamometer tests.</P>

Korean Americans (KAs) with psychiatric service needs underutilizes the mainstream mental health services in United States (US). Barriers to mental health service access among KAs reflect their unique heritage and culture. More than two-thirds of KAs identify themselves as Christians, and Korean clergy have influential roles in daily lives of vast majority of KAs. By working with the Korean clergy, a small voluntary organization such as the Association of Korean American Psychiatrists could provide invaluable assistance in removing the barriers to mental health services for KAs. Buffer Sizing and Polarity Assignment in Clock Tree Synthesis for Power/Ground Noise Minimization

<P>In synchronous systems, clock tree causes high peak current at clock edges, increasing power/ground noise significantly, if the clock tree is not carefully designed. This paper addresses the problem of minimizing power/ground noise in the clock tree synthesis. Contrary to the previous approaches which only make use of assigning polarities to clock buffers to reduce power/ground noise, our approach solves a new problem of simultaneous consideration of assigning polarities to clock buffers and determining buffer sizes to fully exploit the effects of buffer sizing together with polarity assignment on the minimization of power/ground noise while satisfying the clock skew constraint. Specifically, the contributions of this paper are: 1) precisely estimating peak currents by clock buffers and reflecting them on the power/ground noise minimization; 2) proposing a pseudo-polynomial time optimal algorithm based on dynamic programming for solving the integrated problem, together with the proof of intractability of the problem; 3) devising a systematic design flow framework for reducing the power/ground noise over the entire chip; and 4) considering the effect of thermal variation on the clock skew bound and the noise minimization.</P>
