The purpose of this study was to investigate the cultural context of caddies who work at five different golf country clubs in Kyunggi and Kangwon province. The final questionnaire designed by investigators were distributed to the caddies in five country clubs. Two hundred ninety four caddies showed willingness to participate for the study. Among 294, 189 questionnaire were available for the data analysis. The most significant fact in this study was most caddies strongly want to be treated as a normal person not a slave or servant by golfers. Human right seems to be non-existed in golf courses. The results of the study shows that their working value should be upgraded and pay more than current caddy fee. They also indicated that their salary is not high enough. Caddies` leisure activity type is very limited such as movie/videotape, television, reading, and so on. Environmental problems were concern of caddies but not seriously. Total income of caddie is not as high as they expected and valued. However, this matter includes a big difference between caddie and golfer who employed caddie temporarily during the rounding. It seems to call more study on this issue. Further in-depth investigation should be conducted to find the various effects on each variable which constitutes the distinctive golf culture in caddie`s world.

Cobalt oxide nanostructure materials have been prepared by adding several concentrations of spectator Ni ions in solution, and analyzed by electron microscopy, X-day diffraction, calorimetry/thermogravimetric analysis, UV-vis absorption, Raman, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The electron microscopy results show that the morphology of the nanostructures is dramatically altered by changing the concentration of spectator ions. The bulk XRD patterns of $350^{\circ}C$-annealed samples indicate that the structure of the cobalt oxide is all of cubic Fd-3m $Co_3O_4$, and show that the major XRD peaks shift slightly with the concentration of Ni ions. In Raman spectroscopy, we can confirm the XRD data through a more obvious change in peak position, broadness, and intensity. For the un-sputtered samples in the XPS measurement process, the XPS peaks of Co 2p and O 1s for the samples prepared without Ni ions exhibit higher binding energies than those for the sample prepared with Ni ions. Upon $Ar^+$ ion sputtering, we found $Co_3O_4$ reduces to CoO, on the basis of XPS data. Our study could be further applied to controlling morphology and surface oxidation state.
Characterization of new microsatellite markers in mung bean, <i>Vigna radiata</i> (L.)

<P>Abstract</P><P>The present work reports the isolation and characterization of new polymorphic microsatellites in mung bean (<I>Vigna radiata</I> L.). Of 93 designed primer pairs, seven were found to amplify polymorphic microsatellite loci, which were then characterized using 34 mung bean accessions. The number of alleles ranged from two to five alleles per locus with an average of three alleles. Observed and expected heterozygosity values ranged from 0 to 0.088 and from 0.275 to 0.683, respectively. All seven loci showed significant deviations from Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium, whereas only one pairwise combination (GBssr-MB77 and GBssr-MB91) exhibited significant departure from linkage disequilibrium. These newly developed markers are currently being utilized for diversity assessment within the mung bean germplasm collection of the Korean Gene Bank.</P>
LCD with Tunable Viewing Angle by Thermal Modulation of Optical Layer

In this paper, we review the proposed liquid crystal display (LCD) with a tunable viewing angle consisting of a conventional liquid crystal display (LCD) panel and a thermally variable retardation layer (TVRL) characterized by uniformly aligned LC film with transparent indium-tin-oxide electrodes for Joule heating. In the TVRL, nematic phase is transitioned into isotropic by Joule heating. The numerical calculation showed that the intrinsic wide viewing angle was achieved at the isotropic phase of the TVRL by Joule heating, whereas the narrow viewing angle was obtained at the nematic phase of the TVRL. The simulated and experimental results of the proposed LCD show continuous and symmetrical viewing angle characteristics by tuning the retardation of TVRL using Joule heating. The structure of the viewing angle control proposed here is adoptable to all LCD modes with wide viewing angle characteristics.

<P>We demonstrated a continuous viewing angle controllable liquid crystal display (LCD) adopting a thermally variable retardation layer (TVRL) using nematic liquid crystal with transparent electric-heating lines to control temperature. The simulated and experimental results of the proposed LCD show continuous and symmetric viewing angle characteristics by tuning the retardation of TVRL using Joule heating.</P>
