The 10 μm 10 vol% SiCp/2024Al composites sheet was successfully fabricated by semi-solid stir casting followed withtwo-step deformation (extrusion and rolling). The two-step thermal deformation solves the sheet rolling formability of theSiCp/2024Al composites produced by stir casting. Compared with the SiCp/2024Al composites prepared by traditional powdermetallurgy, this paper innovatively studied the synergistic enhancement between CuAl2phase and SiCpon the mechanicalproperties. The result shows that the two-step deformation can significantly improve the uniformity of the distribution of SiCpand CuAl2phases. At the same time, the average size of the SiCpand CuAl2phase decreases after the two-step deformation. During the hot extrusion, SiCphas an obvious hindrance to the refinement of the CuAl2phase. Moreover, the SiCp/2024Alcomposites sheet exhibits excellent yield strength (295 MPa), ultimate tensile strength (489 MPa), and elongation (10.42%). The performance improvement of SiCp/2024Al after two-step thermal deformation is mainly attributed to the improvedinterface bonding strength of SiCp-2024 Al matrix, the refined SiCpand the more uniform distribution of SiCp.
Phenomenon of Entropic Stochastic Resonance with Asymmetric Dichotomous Noise and White Noise

The entropic stochastic resonance (ESR) in a confined system subject to asymmetric dichotomous noise, white noise, and a periodic square-wave signal is investigated. Under the adiabatic approximation condition, by use of the properties of the dichotomous noise, we obtain the expression of the output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) based on two-state theory. The SNR is shown to be a nonmonotonic function of the strength and asymmetry of the dichotomous noise, the intensity of the white noise, and the amplitude of the square-wave signal. The SNR varies non-monotonically with increases in the parameters of the confined structure. The influence of the correlation rate of the dichotomous noise and the frequency of the external constant force on the SNR is also discussed.
AUTOMATIC DETECTION AND EXTRACTION ALGORITHM OF INTER-GRANULAR BRIGHT POINTS

Inter-granular Bright Points (igBPs) are small-scale objects in the Solar photosphere which can be seen within dark inter-granular lanes. We present a new algorithm to automatically detect and extract igBPs. Laplacian and Morphological Dilation (LMD) technique is employed by the algorithm. It involves three basic processing steps: (1) obtaining candidate "seed" regions by Laplacian; (2) determining the boundary and size of igBPs by morphological dilation; (3) discarding brighter granules by a probability criterion. For validating our algorithm, we used the observed samples of the Dutch Open Telescope (DOT), collected on April 12, 2007. They contain 180 high-resolution images, and each has a $85{\times}68\;arcsec^2$ field of view (FOV). Two important results are obtained: first, the identified rate of igBPs reaches 95% and is higher than previous results; second, the diameter distribution is $220{\pm}25km$, which is fully consistent with previously published data. We conclude that the presented algorithm can detect and extract igBPs automatically and effectively.
3D finite element analysis of the whole-building behavior of tall building in fire

In this paper, a methodology to simulate the whole-building behaviour of the tall building under fire is developed by the author using a 3-D nonlinear finite element method. The mechanical and thermal material nonlinearities of the structural members, such as the structural steel members, concrete slabs and reinforcing bars were included in the model. In order to closely simulate the real condition under the conventional fire incident, in the simulation, the fire temperature was applied on level 9, 10 and 11. Then, a numerical investigation on the whole-building response of the building in fire was made. The temperature distribution of the floor slabs, steel beams and columns were predicted. In addition, the behaviours of the structural members under fire such as beam force, column force and deflections were also investigated.

An interesting wood-based all-solid-state supercapacitor is produced using reduced graphene oxide (RGO) coated on wood transverse section slice (WTSS) as electrode material by means of a low-cost, eco-friendly, and simple method for the first time. The RGO-coated WTSS electrode has a porous 3D honeycomb framework due to the hierarchical cellular structure of the WTSS substrate and can function as an electrolyte reservoir. This special construction endows this novel electrode with good areal capacitance (102 mF cm−2) and excellent cyclic stability (capacitance retention of 98.9% after 5000 cycles). In addition, the supercapacitors exhibit good mechanical flexibility and preserve almost constant capacitive behavior under different bending conditions. Our study introduces a new and eco-friendly material design for electrodes in future flexible energy storage devices that closely resemble natural materials.
키랄(S)-이부푸로펜 함유 고분자의 합성과 제조된 고분자의 분자 인식 메커니즘

A group of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) with specific recognition for chiral (S)-ibuprofen were successfully prepared based on hydrogen bonds, utilizing α-methacrylic acid as a functional monomer. The IR analysis of MIPs showed that the blue- and red-shifted hydrogen bonds were formed between templates and functional monomers in the process of self-assembly imprinting and re-recognition, respectively. According to UV-Vis analysis, we found that the ratio of host-guest complexes between template molecule and functional monomer was 1:1. The effect of crosslinker`s quantity on the polymerization was studied by transmission electron microscope (TEM). The adsorption selectivity experiments indicated that MIPs exhibited higher selectivity to (S)-ibuprofen than those to ketoprofen and (R)-ibuprofen, (S)-ibuprofen`s structural analogs.
Non-linear static analysis and design of Tensegrity domes

In this paper, a non-linear structural analysis software with pro-processing and post-recessing function is proposed by the author. The software incorporating the functions of the structural analysis and geometrical design of Tensegrity structures. Using this software, Cable Dome is analyzed as a prototype, a comprehensive study on the structural behavior of Tensegrity domes is presented in detail. Design methods of Tensegrity domes were proposed. Based on the analysis, optimizing design was performed. Several new Tensegrity domes with different geometrical design scheme are proposed, the structural analysis of the new schemes is also conducted. The analysis result shows that the proposed new forms of the Tensegrity domes are reasonable for practical applications.
