      • A Research on the Construction of golf Course and Its Surrounding Area in China from the Perspective of “Ecology-Production-Life” Space

        Purpose - This paper aims to analyze and provide solutions to the current problems of golf courses and surrounding land in China, guided by the concept of “ecology-production-living” space and using scientific and objective analysis while selecting appropriate indicators. This paper hopes to optimize the utilization value of golf courses and their surrounding space in China and provide a new and feasible basis and method for the rational development and popularization of golf in China based on the country’s actual situation. Design/Methodology/Approach - Combining with domestic and foreign theories and research, this paper analyzed the “ecology-production-life” space problems in golf course and its surrounding area, and draws a series of corresponding conclusions or strategies. Findings - This paper studies the strategic measures for the sustainable development of Chinese golf from the perspective of “ecology-production-life” space are obtained. Research Implications - In terms of the managerial implication of this paper, this study provides a new feasible basis and method for the rational development and popularization of golf in China. It also has certain practical significance for realizing the rural revitalization strategy.

      • Weak magnetic field accelerates chromate removal by zero-valent iron

        <P>Weak magnetic field (WMF) was employed to improve the removal of Cr(VI) by zero-valent iron (ZVI) for the first time. The removal rate of Cr(VI) was elevated by a factor of 1.12-5.89 due to the application of a WMF, and the WMF-induced improvement was more remarkable at higher Cr(VI) concentration and higher pH. Fe2+ was not detected until Cr(VI) was exhausted, and there was a positive correlation between the WMF-induced promotion factor of Cr(VI) removal rate and that of Fe2+ release rate in the absence of Cr(VI) at pH4.0-5.5. These phenomena imply that ZVI corrosion with Fe2+ release was the limiting step in the process of Cr(VI) removal. The superimposed WMF had negligible influence on the apparent activation energy of Cr(VI) removal by ZVI, indicating that WMF accelerated Cr(VI) removal by ZVI but did not change the mechanism. The passive layer formed with WMF was much more porous than without WMF, thereby facilitating mass transport. Therefore, WMF could accelerate ZVI corrosion and alleviate the detrimental effects of the passive layer, resulting in more rapid removal of Cr(VI) by ZVI. Exploiting the magnetic memory of ZVI, a two-stage process consisting of a small reactor with WMF for ZVI magnetization and a large reactor for removing contaminants by magnetized ZVI can be employed as a new method of ZVI-mediated remediation.</P>

        Anti-seismic Effect of Lattice Grid Structure with Friction Pendulum Bearings Under the Earthquake Impact of Various Dimensions

        As a typical base isolation device, the friction pendulum bearing (FPB) was applied to the lattice grid structures in this paper. The isolation mechanism of FPBs was analyzed from two aspects of force and energy consumption, while the static anddynamic mechanical properties of lattice grid structures with FPBs were numerically investigated using two models of regularand oblique quadrangular pyramid framed structures. The physical models of FPBs with fictional coefficient of 0.1 and acurvature radius of 1.0 m was established and applied to the lattice grid structures. Moreover, the mechanical properties of thesestructures with FPBs ware studied. Numerical results indicate that the seismic response of structures is remarkably weakenedby using FPBs, which means FPBs can be used to effectively control structural vibration.

      • Avionics Frequency Response Characteristics Testing System

        To meet the demand of avionics control system's frequency response characteristic and the testing, a new avionics frequency response testing system is proposed. The design uses PXI series card of NI Corporation and the software programming is used in the design, to realize the function of the testing signal's generation, the collection of the response signal, the processing of the sampling data and the mapping of the system's frequency response characteristic curve, and so on. In this paper, the hardware composition, software design, testing steps, and the processing method of data sampling are mainly introduced. The results of application show that the proposed system is economical and reliable. It has a good stability and can meet the avionics system frequency response testing requirements. It not only achieves all the collection of the response signal, analysis and calculation, but also achieves the data storage and playback. The proposed system has the advantages of simple and quick, flexible configuration, portable, low cost, and so on.

      • Molecular and cellular mechanism of neuroprotection by vascular endothelial growth factor against ischemic/hypoxic injury

        Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), a dimeric glycoprotein, is original found in the vascular endothelial cells with high potency of angiogenesis, vascular permeability and endothelial proliferation. However, VEGF also could be detected in the culture neuronal astrocytes, cardiac myocytes and cornea, which did not associate with neovascularization. In the brain, VEGF expression was observed in the neuronal cells in the postnatal and adult rats. Functional study demonstrated exogenous VEGF could enhance the axonal outgrowth and neuronal survival against hypoxic neuronal damage. Therefore, in the past several years, we further studied the neuroprotective mechanism of endogenous and exogenous VEGF against ischemic neuronal injury with morphological, electrical physiological and biochemical approaches in in vivo and in vitro studies as follows.

        Multi-Criteria decision making based on fuzzy measure

        치명적인 사고를 막기 위해 드라이버 졸음 (DD)를 검출하는 다양한 최근 방법이 제안되고있다. 본 논문은 운전자의 눈에 폐쇄 속도를 모니터링 할 수 있는 기능을 AdaBoost 기반 물체 검출 알고리즘에 적용한 DD 탐지 시스템 구현에서 하드웨어/소프트웨어 공동 설계 방법을 제안한다. 소프트웨어 구성 요소는 DD 검출 알고리즘 중에서 필요한 기능성을 완전하게 달성하기 위해 전체적인 제어 및 논리 연산을 구현한다. 반면, 본 연구에서는 DD 검출 알고리즘의 중요한 기능은 처리를 가속화하기 위해 맞춤형 하드웨어 구성 요소를 통해 가속된다. 하드웨어/소프트웨어 아키텍처는 비디오 도터 보드와 알테라 DE2 보드에 구현되었습니다. 제안 된 구현의 성능을 평가하고 몇 가지 최근의 작품을 벤치마킹했다. Decision procedure was done with the evaluation of multi-criterion analysis. Importance of each criterion was considered through heuristically method, specially it was based on the heuristic least mean square algorithm. To consider coalition evaluation, it was carried out by calculation of Shapley index and Interaction value. The model output is also analyzed with the help of those two indexes, and the procedure was also displayed with details. Finally, the differences between the model output and the desired results are evaluated thoroughly, several problems are raised at the end of the example which require for further studying.

      • Sol-Flame Synthesis: A General Strategy To Decorate Nanowires with Metal Oxide/Noble Metal Nanoparticles

        <P>The hybrid structure of nanoparticle-decorated nanowires (NP@NW) combines the merits of large specific surface areas for NPs and anisotropic properties for NWs and is a desirable structure for applications including batteries, dye-sensitized solar cells, photoelectrochemical water splitting, and catalysis. Here, we report a novel <I>sol-flame</I> method to synthesize the NP@NW hybrid structure with two unique characteristics: (1) large loading of NPs per NW with the morphology of NP chains fanning radially from the NW core and (2) intimate contact between NPs and NWs. Both features are advantageous for the above applications that involve both surface reactions and charge transport processes. Moreover, the sol-flame method is simple and general, with which we have successfully decorated various NWs with binary/ternary metal oxide and even noble metal NPs.       • Zero-valent iron for the abatement of arsenate and selenate from flowback water of hydraulic fracturing

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Zero-valent iron (ZVI) was tested for the removal of 150 μg L<SUP>−1</SUP> As(V) and 350 μg L<SUP>−1</SUP> Se(VI) in high-salinity (ionic strength 0.35–4.10 M) flowback water of hydraulic fracturing. Over 90% As(V) and Se(VI) was removed by 2.5 g L<SUP>−1</SUP> ZVI in Day-14 flowback water up to 96-h reaction, with the remaining concentration below the maximum contaminant level for As(V) and criterion continuous concentration for Se(VI) recommended by US EPA. The kinetics of As(V) and Se(VI) removal followed a pseudo-second-order rate expression with the observed rates of 4.51 × 10<SUP>−2</SUP>–4.91 × 10<SUP>−1</SUP> and 3.48 × 10<SUP>−2</SUP>–6.58 × 10<SUP>−1</SUP> h<SUP>−1</SUP> (with 0.5–10 g L<SUP>−1</SUP> ZVI), respectively. The results showed that Se(VI) removal significantly decreased with increasing ionic strength, while As(V) removal showed little variation. Common competing anions (nitrate, bicarbonate, silicate, and phosphate), present in shallow groundwater and stormwater, caused marginal Se(VI) desorption (2.42 ± 0.13%) and undetectable As(V) desorption from ZVI. The competition between As(V) and Se(VI) for ZVI removal depended on the initial molar ratio and surface sites, which occurred when the Se(VI) concentration was higher than the As(V) concentration in this study. The characterization of As(V)- and Se(VI)-loaded ZVI by X-ray diffraction and Raman analysis revealed that ZVI gradually converted to magnetite/maghemite corrosion products with lepidocrocite in flowback water over 30 days. Similar corrosion compositions were confirmed in aerobic and anaerobic conditions regardless of the molar ratio of As(V) to Se(VI). The high reactivity and stability of ZVI showed its suitability for <I>in-situ</I> prevention of As(V) and Se(VI) migration due to accidental leakage, spillage, or overflow of flowback water.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> As(V) and Se(VI) in high-salinity flowback water was effectively removed by ZVI. </LI> <LI> As(V) removal was less susceptible to ionic strength variations than Se(V). </LI> <LI> Competing anions in groundwater and stormwater caused insignificant desorption. </LI> <LI> As(V) and Se(VI) competition depended on their molar ratio and ZVI surface sites. </LI> <LI> Surface characteristics of ZVI were unaffected by molar ratio and dissolved oxygen. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
