Analysis of Carrier Transport of Organic Devices by Using Nonlinear Optical Polarization.
Lim, Eunju,Iwamoto, Mitsumasa American Scientific Publishers 2015 Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Vol.15 No.3

In this review, we discuss the Maxwell-Wagner (MW) effect model analysis of organic devices and time-resolved optical second harmonic generation (TR-EFISHG) measurement that is available for directly probing carrier motion in organic semiconductor devices. Using these, we show that organic field effect transistor as well organic double-layer device operation is analyzed well, and we can make clear the mechanism of these organic devices' operation. Finally, we conclude that the dielectric physics approach using the MW model analysis and the TR-EFISHG experiment is useful to study carrier transport mechanism of organic devices.

eect transistor (OFET) devices. In our previous studies, we showed the evidence of carrier injection from source electrode by means ofoptical second harmonic generation (SHG) measurement and capacitancevoltage (CV) measurements, and explained the FET char-acteristics using a MaxwellWagner model. In this paper, to further clarify the behavior of the carrier transport and hole injection fromsource electrode, we focused on the hysteresis behavior observed in the currentvoltage (IV) andCV characteristics of pentacene FETs.CV measurements, we could show that the origin of the hysteresis behavior iscaused by holes, which are injected and subsequently trapped in FET channel.
Analysis of Pentacene FET Characteristics Based on the Maxwell-Wagner Model
Eunju Lim,Mitsumasa Iwamoto,Ryosuke Tamura,Takaaki Manaka 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.48 No.6
The I-V and the C-V characteristics of a bottom-contact pentacene field effect transistor (FET) were analyzed using a Maxwell-Wagner model. The C-V characteristics show that holes injected from the source electrode are the main carriers that accumulate at the channel, and the difference in the FET performance between the UV/ozone-treated and -untreated FETs is well explained by considering the hole injection properties. The equation of the FET characteristics was derived by using the carrier transport mechanism of holes conveyed along the channel, and the effective mobility of our FET was evaluated. Our fabricated pentacene FET was shown to function as the so-called injection-type FET.
Statistical Properties of News Coverage Data
Lim, Eunju,Hahn, Kyu S.,Lim, Johan,Kim, Myungsuk,Park, Jeongyeon,Yoon, Jihee 한국통계학회 2012 Communications for statistical applications and me Vol.19 No.6
In the current analysis, we examine news coverage data widely used in media studies. News coverage data is usually time series data to capture the volume or the tone of the news media's coverage of a topic. We first describe the distributional properties of autoregressive conditionally heteroscadestic(ARCH) effects and compare two major American newspaper's coverage of U.S.-North Korea relations. Subsequently, we propose a change point detection model and apply it to the detection of major change points in the tone of American newspaper coverage of U.S.-North Korea relations.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Citrus flavonoids have a variety of physiological properties such as anti-oxidant, anti-inflammation, anti-cancer, and anti-obesity. We investigated whether bioconversion of Citrus unshiu with cytolase (CU-C) ameliorates the anti-adipogenic effects by modulation of adipocyte differentiation and lipid metabolism in 3T3-L1 cells. MATERIALS/METHODS: Glycoside forms of Citrus unshiu (CU) were converted into aglycoside forms with cytolase treatment. Cell viability of CU and CU-C was measured at various concentrations in 3T3L-1 cells. The anti-adipogenic and lipolytic effects were examined using Oil red O staining and free glycerol assay, respectively. We performed real time-polymerase chain reaction and western immunoblotting assay to detect mRNA and protein expression of adipogenic transcription factors, respectively. RESULTS: Treatment with cytolase decreased flavanone rutinoside forms (narirutin and hesperidin) and instead, increased flavanone aglycoside forms (naringenin and hesperetin). During adipocyte differentiation, 3T3-L1 cells were treated with CU or CU-C at a dose of 0.5 mg/ml. Adipocyte differentiation was inhibited in CU-C group, but not in CU group. CU-C markedly suppressed the insulin-induced protein expression of CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein α (C/EBPα) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) as well as the mRNA levels of CEBPα, PPARγ, and sterol regulatory element binding protein 1c (SREBP1c). Both CU and CU-C groups significantly increased the adipolytic activity with the higher release of free glycerol than those of control group in differentiated 3T3-L1 adipocytes. CU-C is particularly superior in suppression of adipogenesis, whereas CU-C has similar effect to CU on stimulation of lipolysis. CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that bioconversion of Citrus unshiu peel extracts with cytolase enhances aglycoside flavonoids and improves the anti-adipogenic metabolism via both inhibition of key adipogenic transcription factors and induction of adipolytic activity.
Nitrooleate Mediates Nitric Oxide Synthase Activation in Endothelial Cells
Shin, Eunju,Yeo, Eunju,Lim, Jihye,Chang, Yun Hee,Park, Haeryun,Shim, Eugene,Chung, Haeyon,Hwang, Hye Jin,Chun, Jiyeon,Hwang, Jinah Wiley (John WileySons) 2014 Lipids Vol.49 No.5

Nitrated lipids such as nitrooleate (OLA-NO2) can act as endogenous peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) ligands to exert vascular protective effects. However, the molecular mechanisms regarding nitric oxide (NO) production and its regulation are not fully defined in the vasculature. Here, we show that OLA-NO2 increased endothelial NO release by modulating activation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) in endothelial cells. Treatment with OLA-NO2 (3?μM) increased NO release in a time-dependent manner. OLA-NO2 decreased protein expression of eNOS and caveolin-1 (Cav-1) but increased heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) expression. Immunoprecipitation analysis confirmed that OLA-NO2 replaced eNOS/Cav-1 with eNOS/Hsp90 interaction, resulting in increasing eNOS activity. OLA-NO2 also induced eNOS phosphorylation at Ser633 and Ser1177 and eNOS dephosphorylation at Ser113 and Thr495. In addition, OLA-NO2 induced phosphorylation of Akt and extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (ERK1/2), which might contribute to eNOS activation. Collectively, these results substantiate a new functional role for nitrated fatty acid, demonstrating that OLA-NO2 exerts vascular protective effects by increasing NO bioavailability through eNOS phosphorylation/dephosphorylation and interaction with associated proteins such as Hsp90 and Cav-1.

Images represent a large share of web site contents. Image contents allow users to perceive information using vision, but visually handicapped people cannot perceive the information unless substitute texts that can replace vision are provided. Therefore, in this paper, the Web accessibility compliance status was compared between domestic and overseas sites around their compliance with substitute texts for images. The results indicate that the general Web accessibility compliance rates of domestic and overseas websites have not increased compared to 2013. However, the compliance with substitute texts for images in domestic sites was found to be continuously increasing, whereas it decreased in overseas sites.
