Articles : Endogenous Wage Differentials, Imperfect Labor Mobility and Customs Unions Theory
( Eden S. H. Yu ),( Amar K. Parai ) 세종대학교 경제통합연구소 1989 Journal of Economic Integration Vol.4 No.1
This paper investigates the welfare consequences of forming a trade-creating or trade-diverting customs union in the presence of endogenous wage differential arising from labor immobility. Specifically, it is demonstrated that the direction of the wage differential ditermines whether trade creation I will improve or lower welfare. The wage differential also plays a crucial role in determining the welfare effects of trade creation II and trade diversion II. However, trade diversion I may have any welfare effects in the presence or absence of the wage differential.

Objective This paper presents a review of the current state of child and adolescent mental health literacy and provides current evidence of the economic impact of a pediatric mental health literacy (MHL) training program. Methods Employing a case-series-comparison design, physician referrals to urgent and specialized mental health services were linked with patient-specific information comparing referrals from MHL participants and non-participating physicians. The economic impact analysis was based on changes in the admitted referral frequency and lengths of stay for the MHL group, compared to themselves pretraining, and over the same time period compared to non-participating physicians. Results Average scheduled ambulatory admission rates per physician remained constant for trained and untrained pre-post groups. Average scheduled ambulatory admission wait time and length of stay reduced significantly post-training for MHL-trained physicians compared to pre-training and untrained physicians. In addition to reductions in length of stay, the total bed costs saving for emergency/inpatients admission deferrals was $2,932,112 or about $20,000 per MHL-trained physician. Conclusion The estimated economic impact of the MHL training shows a substantial return on investment and supports wider implementation. The MHL training program should be a key feature of mental health reform strategies, as well as continuing and undergraduate medical education.

The objective of this study is to provide a deeper understanding of the factors that lead to the development and adoption of AI-based chatbots. We analyze the structural relationship between the organizational (externalities), systematic (fit), and the consumer-related (psychological) factors and their role in the adoption of AI-based chatbots. Founded on the theories of task-technology fit and network externalities, we present a conceptual model overlooking common perception-based theories (e.g., Technology Acceptance Model). We collected 380 responses from Indian banking consumers to test the model using the PLS-SEM method. Interestingly, the findings present a positive impact of all factors on consumers’ intention to adopt AI-based chatbots. However, the interplays between these factors provide a mixed perspective for literature. Apart from employing a combination of factors that have been used to study technology adoption, our study explores the importance of externalities and their relationship with fit factors, a unique outlook often overlooked by prior research. Moreover, we offer a clear understanding of latent variables such as trust, and the intricacies of their interplays in a novel context. Thereby, the study offers implications for literature and practice, followed by future research directions.
The process of privacy intrusion : Based on elaboration likelihood model

People have adopted Social Networking sites (SNSs) as a part of daily lives. While using the SNSs, people easily collect, distribute or write others’ personal information without the information owner’s acknowledgement. Thus, privacy intrusion has been paid attention by both academia and industries. This research focuses on the process where people have their privacy intrusion intention. According to Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), there are largely two routes in persuasion process. If a person has low involving context in privacy intrusion such as gossip and curiosity in using SNSs (peripheral route), (s)he may intrude others’ privacies with low motivation and ability. On the other hand, if a person has high involving context in privacy intrusion such as social justice control and power in using SNSs (Central route), (s)he may intrude other’s personal information with high motivation and ability. Using survey data collected from 400 Korean SNS users, we find that gossip and social justice control are effectively associated with privacy intrusion intention through curiosity and power as mediators. This research indicated that privacy intrusion intention in SNSs can be explained by ELM process. It implies privacy intruders could be distinguished by their level of elaboration likelihood. This result can help privacy researchers, policy makers and practitioners to understand intrusion intention.
Trends in the AI-based Banking Conversational Agents Literature: A Bibliometric Review
Eden Samuel Parthiban,Mohd. Adil 한국경영정보학회 2023 Asia Pacific Journal of Information Systems Vol.33 No.3
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the technologies powered by AI fuel the fourth industrial revolution. Being the primary adopter of such innovations, banking has recently started using the most common AI-based technology, i.e., conversational agents. Although research extensively focuses on this niche area and provides bibliometric understanding for such agents in other industries, a similar review with scientometric insights of the banking literature concerning AI conversational agents is absent till date. Furthermore, in the era following the pandemic, banks are faced with the imperative to provide solutions that align with the changing landscape of remote consumer behavior. As a result, banks are proactively integrating technology-driven solutions, such as automated agents, to effectively address the growing demand for remote customer support. Hence more research is needed to perfect such agents. In order to bridge these existing gaps, the present study undertook a comprehensive examination of two decades’ worth of banking literature. A meticulous review was conducted, analyzing approximately 116 papers published from 2003 to 2023. The aim was to provide a scientometric overview of the topic, catering to the research needs of both academic and industrial professionals. Holistically, the study seeks to present a macro-view about the existing trends in AI based banking conversational agents’ literature while focusing on quantity, qualitative and structural indicators that are effectively necessary to offer new directions for the AI-based banking solutions. Our study, therefore, presents insights surrounding the literature, using selected techniques related to performance analysis and science mapping.
