Le Nguyen Thanh Dong,Nguyen Ngoc Duy Phuong 한국유통과학회 2017 KODISA ICBE (International Conference on Business Vol.2017 No.-

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are place contributing to the intellectual advancement of the nation, quality human resource, and to a number of socio-economic improvements for society and organizations. To achieve the objectives of the study, the structural equation modeling, particular, a partial least square method (PLS) is suitable since this techniques permits the simultaneous estimation of multiple equations and performs factor analysis including regression analysis. Despite facilitators and staffs being the bare-bone of HEIs, there is a dearth of research, both conceptual and empirical, focusing on their perceived of organizational justice and its impact on employees’ job satisfaction, organizational commitment, organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB). To attempt to fill this gap, this article develops a conceptual model on OCB with the organizational justice the influence of the job satisfaction on the organizational commitment and OCB. OCB is one of the most important factor influence the organizational performance. Furthermore, the performance of HEIs will does not effects only the national human resources, but also impact on national economy. Finally, the authors discuss the managerial implications of their research and offer guidelines for future empirical research.

Trajectory analyses of uncontrolled circular parachutes in random spatial wind fields

Thanh Dong Pham,Anh Tuan Nguyen,Vu Dan Thanh Le,Trung Kien Nguyen 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.8

The present paper explores the trajectories of two uncontrolled circular parachute models which differ in size and mass in random spatial wind fields. The wind velocity components were generated through three-dimensional inverse fast Fourier transforms; and the correlations of the simulation data compared with the theoretical functions to confirm the accuracy of the wind model. The parachute systems are modelled as six-degrees-of-freedom rigid bodies, on which the aerodynamic forces and moments are applied. The dynamics model was validated before being used to study the drop trajectories of the parachute systems in spatial wind fields. Analyzing the drop trajectories and the impact point dispersion characteristics of the two parachute systems, the paper shows that the smaller one oscillates at a higher frequency and is affected more strongly by the wind. While descending at low altitude, there could be resonance between the dynamics of the larger parachute model and the wind turbulence. Moreover, it is found that the use of simplified vertical wind profiles, which include only the variation of the wind velocity against the altitude, may cause significant error in the simulation results.

( Thanh Hoa Le ),( Tran Binh Le ),( Thanh Huong Thi Doan ),( Dong Van Quyen ),( Kim Xuyen Thi Le ),( Viet Cuong Pham ),( Mitsuru Nagataki ),( Haruka Nomura ),( Yasunori Ikeue ),( Yoshiya Watanabe ),( 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2011 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.21 No.4

Avian influenza virus vaccines produced in oil-emulsified inactivated form with antigen content of at least 160 hemagglutinin units (HAU) induced immunity in birds. However, in addition to enhancing the effect of the adjuvant(s), other additional supplemented biological compounds included in inactivated vaccines could produce higher levels of antibody. We examined in chickens, Vietnamese ducks, and muscovy ducks the adjuvant effect of Sophy β-glucan (SBG), a β-1,3-1,6 glucan produced by the black yeast Aureobasidium pollulans strain AF0-202, when administered with an avian influenza H5 subtype vaccine. In Experiment 1, 40 chickens (ISA Brown hybrid), allocated to four groups of ten each, were immunized with Oil-H5N1(VN), Oil-H5N1(CN), Oil-H5N2(CN), and saline (control group), respectively. In Experiment 2, chickens (ISA Brown hybrid), muscovy ducks (French hybrid), and Vietnamese ducks (indigenous Vietnamese) were used to further assess the effect of SBG on immunogenicity of the Oil-H5N1(VN) Vietnamese vaccine. ELISA and hemagglutination inhibition (HI) assays were used to assess the antibody response. The H5 subtype vaccines initiated significantly higher immune responses in the animals dosed with SBG, with 1.0-1.5 log2 higher HI titers and 10-20% ELISA seroconversion, compared with those not dosed with β-glucan. Notably, some of the animals dosed with SBG induced HI titers higher than 9.0 log2 following boosting immunization. Taken together, our serial studies indicated that SBG is a potential effector, such as enhancing the immune response to the H5 vaccines tested.

Organizational Justice, Job Satisfaction and Organizational Citizenship Behavior in Higher Education Institutions: A Research Proposition in Vietnam

Le Nguyen Thanh Dong,Nguyen Ngoc Duy Phuong 한국유통과학회 2018 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.5 No.3

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are place contributing to the intellectual advancement of the nation, quality human resource, and to a number of socio-economic improvements for society and organizations. Despite facilitators and staffs are the bare-bone of HEIs, there is a scarcity of research, both conceptual and empirical, focusing on their organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB). To attempt to fill this gap, this article develops a conceptual model of OCB under influencing of organizational justice and job satisfaction. The prospective respondents were chosen randomly from HEIs (public and private). Individuals have been employed at least one year and above will be the unit of analysis in which the experimental test of the proposed model will be conducted. The results suggest that organizational citizenship behavior is one of the most important factor influence the organizational performance. Furthermore, the performance of HEIs does not affect only the national human resources, but also impact on national economy. In this context, a conceptual framework is proposed to study the determinants of organizational citizenship behavior in the form of organizational justice and job satisfaction. Additionally, the ultimate benefits of OCB through perceived organizational justice with job satisfaction as mediator is enlightened. Finally, the authors discuss the managerial implications of their research.

An Efficient Throughput Improvement through Bandwidth Awareness in Cognitive Radio Networks

Le, Tung Thanh,Kim, Dong-Seong The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2014 Journal of communications and networks Vol.16 No.2

This paper proposes a bandwidth-aware localized-routing algorithm that is capable of sensing the available spectrum bands within a two-hop neighboring for choosing the highly opportunistic routes. A mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) is utilized to formulate the optimization problem. Then, the proposed algorithm is used to determine the maximum bandwidth possible of link pairs via a bandwidth approximation process of relaxed variables. Thereby, the proposed algorithm can allow selected routes corresponding to maximum bandwidth possible between cognitive radio (CR) users through link pairs in cognitive radio networks. By comparing the solution values to previous works, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can offer a closed-optimal solution for routing performance in cognitive radio networks. The contribution of this paper is achieved through approximately 50% throughput utilized in the network.

Estimation of ESR in the DC-Link Capacitors of AC Motor Drive Systems with a Front-End Diode Rectifier

Thanh Hai Nguyen,Quoc Anh Le,Dong-Choon Lee 전력전자학회 2015 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.15 No.2

In this paper, a new method for the online estimation of equivalent series resistances (ESR) of the DC-link capacitors in induction machine (IM) drive systems with a front-end diode rectifier is proposed, where the ESR estimation is conducted during the regenerative operating mode of the induction machine. In the first place, a regulated AC current component is injected into the q-axis current component of the induction machine, which induces the current and voltage ripple components in the DC-link. By processing these AC signals through digital filters, the ESR can be estimated by a recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm. To acquire the AC voltage across the ESR, the DC-link voltage needs to be measured at a double sampling frequency. In addition, the ESR current is simply reconstructed from the stator currents and switching states of the inverter. Experimental results have shown that the estimation error of the ESR is about 1.2%, which is quite acceptable for condition monitoring of the capacitor.

Le, Thanh Dung,Kim, Ji Hyung,Park, Sa Il,Kang, Dong-Hyung,Lee, Haigun,Jo, Young-Sik,Yoon, Yong Soo,Kim, Ho Min Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers 2015 IEEE transactions on applied superconductivity Vol.25 No.3

<P>A cooling system is an essential part of high-temperature superconducting (HTS) rotating machine manufacturing. Moreover, thermal behavior is a crucial parameter of the cooling system that shows unique characteristics of superconductivity below a specific temperature to maintain a superconducting state. Therefore, many experiments have been performed to investigate new reliable cryogenic cooling systems for a large-scale HTS rotating machine. The motivation for the study is our recent development of the cryogenic cooling system using thermal trigger switches; it effectively minimizes non-operational downtime of the HTS machine in cases of power supply or cryocooler failure. This paper focuses on two main targets. First, the thermal design of the cooling system for the 10 MW-class HTS rotating machine is enhanced. Second, the performance of the cooling system is observed for various cryogens to investigate the feasibility of using solid cryogen.</P>

      • Catechol-rich gelatin hydrogels <i>in situ</i> hybridizations with silver nanoparticle for enhanced antibacterial activity

Le Thi, Phuong,Lee, Yunki,Hoang Thi, Thai Thanh,Park, Kyung Min,Park, Ki Dong Elsevier 2018 Materials science & engineering. C, Materials for Vol.92 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Recently, the interest in antimicrobial hydrogels with impregnated antibacterial agents has significantly increased because of their ability to combat infection in biomedical applications, including wound management, tissue engineering, and biomaterial surface coating. Among these antibacterial reagents, silver nanoparticles (AgNP) show good antibacterial activity against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, including highly multi-resistant strains. However, the entrapment of AgNP within a hydrogel matrix is often associated with toxicity issues because of the use of chemical reductants (<I>e.g.</I>, commonly sodium borohydride), burst leaching, or unwanted agglomeration of AgNP in the absence of surfactants or stabilizers. In this study, we present catechol-rich gelatin hydrogels with <I>in situ</I> hybridization of AgNP for enhanced antimicrobial activities. AgNP were formed through a redox reaction between silver ions and the catechol moieties of a gelatin derivative polymer, without the addition of any chemical reductants. The AgNP with an average size of 20 nm were entrapped within hydrogel matrices and showed sustained release from the hydrogel matrix (8.7% for 14 days). The resulting hydrogels could kill both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, depending on the amount of AgNP released from the hydrogels and did not have a significant influence on mammalian cell viability. We believe that our catechol-rich hydrogels <I>in situ</I> hybridizations with AgNP have great potential for biomedical applications, such as wound management and surface coating, because of their excellent antibacterial activities and biocompatibility.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Silver nanoparticles incorporation (AgNP) impart the antimicrobial properties to injectable gelatin hydrogel. </LI> <LI> AgNP was <I>in situ</I> synthesized within the hydrogel matrix, with controllable size and sustained release. </LI> <LI> The nanocomposite hydrogels significantly inhibited bacterial growth without affecting viability of mammalian cells. </LI> <LI> These <I>in situ</I> forming GHD/AgNP hydrogels are potential for a wide range of biomedical applications. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>A simple method using catecholic chemistry to prepare an injectable nanocomposite hydrogel with excellent antimicrobial activities.
