Allergic diseases such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis are heterogeneous diseases characterized by multiple symptoms and phenotypes. Recent advancements in genetic study enabled us to identify disease associated genetic factors. Numerous genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have revealed multiple associated loci for allergic diseases. However, the majority of previous studies have been conducted in populations of European ancestry. Moreover, the associations of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with allergic diseases have not been studied amongst the large-scale general Korean population. Herein, we performed the replication study to validate the previous variants, known to be associated with allergic diseases, in the Korean population. In this study, we categorized three allergic related phenotypes, one allergy and two asthma related phenotypes, based on self-reports of physician diagnosis and their symptoms from 8,842 samples. As a result, we found nominally significant associations of 6 SNPs with at least one allergic related phenotype in the Korean population. [BMB reports 2012; 45(5): 305-310]

儒學思想是由四書五經等儒敎經典形成的, 因而在中國和韓國等儒敎文化圈中, 每次歷史上發生劃時代的變化時, 就會有新的經典注釋産生。茶山將整個六經四書從全新的角度去注釋, 這是因其生活的時代與以前的時代相比發生了質的變化。他的經典解釋學是綜合了訓诂學的方法和心性論的課題, 在新的立場上進行揚棄, 爲朝鮮時代的經學史鑄就了劃時代的業績。 茶山對于《中庸》第1章:“率性之謂道”這一命題的注釋,同朱子對這一命題的注釋進行對比分析后, 本論文得出如下結論: 1. 朱子將該命題視爲規范原理的定立, 茶山則將此看作是爲實現本性的修養學習。 2. 朱子視之爲遵循本然之性的`理`, 而茶山則認爲它是遵循人類好善厭惡的先驗性的·道德性的心(情感、意志)。 3. 朱子將道視爲人和事物的普遍性規范原理, 而茶山則僅將此視之爲人的道德規范, 事物應除外。 朱子是站在構建道德形而上學的根据的立場上, 而茶山是站在强化道德在現實世界中實踐性的立場上, 這也就是二者産生上述差異的原因。 The basis for Confucian thought is the Classics represented by the Four Books and Five Classics. Whenever radical changes take place in history, there would naturally arise new interpretation on the same old Classics. The reason why Tasan interpreted the Classics from a whole new perspective is also due to his time that went through significant changes. He left a notable achievement within Korean history of Classics through his unique commentaries that synthesized the issues within theories of mind and nature with the methods from evidential studies. The main characteristic of Tasan's commentaries can be summarized as 'anti-Zhu Xi's Neo-Confucianism.' When Zhu Xi's interpretation happened to correspond to Tasan's own ideas, however, he did not hesitate to embrace it as to become a part of his philosophical framework. In Tasan's system of interpretation, therefore, there not only are 'criticisms' toward Neo-Confucianism represented by Zhu Xi, but also is 'inheritance' from them. From such a perspective, this article analyzes the difference between Tasan and Zhu Xi, especially on their commentaries of the phrase "to follow nature is called the Way(率性之謂道)" in the first chapter of the Doctrine of the Way (中庸). The analysis begot the following outcome: 1. Zhu Xi saw the phrase as a kind of normative principle, while Tasan regarded it as the method of self-cultivation that would help actualize one's nature. 2. Zhu Xi saw the object of following to be the principle li which is our original nature, while Tasan interpreted it to be the innate moral mind (emotion, will) that likes good and hates evil. 3. Zhu Xi saw the Tao to be the general, normative principle common to human and things, while Tasan stressed it to be the moral rules applicable only to humans. Such differences seem to be founded upon the chasm between Zhu Xi's aim, that is to build the basis of moral metaphysics and Tasan's endeavor to bring about more actual, concrete practices on morality within our everyday, real life. Bifidobacteria is one of the prototypes of probiotics bacteria, normally inhabitating the intestinal tract of humans. To search for a potent immunoregulatory Bifidobacteria strain, we screened the Bifidobacteria strains isolated from the feces of healthy Korean children. The mRNA or protein expression of an anti-inflammatory cytokine, IL-10, from mouse macrophages stimulated with live Bifidobacteria was examined. Of tested strains, Bifidobacteria A28 induced the highest IL-10 gene expression of murine macrophages. To probe immunoregulatory activity of the selected strain on the mice, we evaluated the proportional changes of $CD4^+CD25^+$ surface marker in the murine splenocytes. Flow cytometric analysis showed that the overall percentages of $CD4^+CD25^+$ cells in A28-treated splenocytes were higher than those of untreated splenocytes. In parallel, IL-10 release from A28-treated mouse peritoneal macrophages and splenocytes was significantly higher than that of untreated control cells. Collectively, the Bifidobacteria A28 strain isolated from the feces of healthy Korean children augments the mRNA or protein expression of IL-10 release from mouse peritoneal macrophages as well as the proportion of $CD4^+CD25^+$ cells of naive splenocytes. These provide in vitro scientific clues that Bifidobacteria A28 might be usable for anti-inflammatory disease such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
자이로 센서와 PID 제어를 이용한 드론 비행 안정화에 관한 연구

현재 무인항공기의 기술 변화와 시장 규모는 발 빠르게 확산되고 있다. 활용 범위의 확대로 드론을 쉽게 접 할 수 있게 되면서 조종자의 조종 미숙으로 인한 피해가 발생한다. 이러한 문제 발생으로 인한 피해를 최소화하기 위해서 드론의 안정적인 비행 능력이 요구되며 이를 위하여 모터의 안정적인 속도 제어가 요구된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 모터의 제어 방안으로 Arduino를 주 제어장치로 사용하였으며 기체의 자세 안정화를 위하여 가속도 센서와 자이로 센서를 사용하였다. 또한, 초음파 센서를 드론에 탑재하여 일정 높이에서 호버링이 가능하도록 하였다. 안드로이드 앱을 이용하여 드론을 제어하였으며 그 결과 0∼2m 범위의 지정한 위치에서 안정적으로 호버링이 가능함을 확인하였다. The changes of technology and the size of markets for unmaned aerial vehicle are getting bigger presently. Damage happens because of user’s poor operation since accesses to the drones are easy. To minimize the damage, drone’s stabilized flight skills are required, and controlling the motor to balanced speed is also needed. Thus, the essay shows that we use Arduino as a main control device for controlling a drone, and used acceleration sensor and gyro sensor for the drone stabilization. Also, we made it able to hover at a certain height by using a sonar sensor. We also controlled a drone by using an Android application, and made the drone hover stably at 0∼2 meters

<P>Fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2) signaling plays a pivotal role in bone growth/differentiation through the activation of osteogenic master transcription factor Runx2, which is mediated by the ERK/MAPK-dependent phosphorylation and the p300-dependent acetylation of Runx2. In this study, we found that Pin1-dependent isomerization of Runx2 is the critical step for FGF2-induced Runx2 transactivation function. We identified four serine or threonine residues in the C-terminal domain of Runx2 that are responsible for Pin1 binding and structural modification. Confocal imaging studies indicated that FGF2 treatment strongly stimulated the focal accumulation of Pin1 in the subnuclear area, which recruited Runx2. In addition, active forms of RNA polymerase-II also colocalized in the same subnuclear compartment. Dipentamethylene thiuram monosulfide, a Pin1 inhibitor, strongly attenuated their focal accumulation as well as Runx2 transactivation activity. The Pin1-mediated structural modification of Runx2 is an indispensable step connecting phosphorylation and acetylation and, consequently, transcriptional activation of Runx2 by FGF signaling. Thus, the modulation of Pin1 activity may be a target for the regulation of bone formation.</P>
