정진원(Jin Won Jeong),심대용(Dae Yong Sim) 한국운동영양학회 2000 Physical Activity and Nutrition (Phys Act Nutr) Vol.4 No.1
N/A This study employed 11 university soccer players for assessing anaerobic capacities related to ATP-PC and/or lactate system. It was investigated correlation among anaerobic capacities from Critical Power test, from Wingate test, and from Isokinetic test. Also, the study investigated regression formula which could expect anaerobic reserve(AR) from variables measured in Wingate and Isokinetic test. There were significant but intermediate correlation between AR and WIN5, (r= .62, P< .05) and WIN30(r= .64, P< .05). There was no statistically significant but intermediate correlation between AR and WIN10 (r= .52, P> .05). The study used stepwise method for multiple regression by Wingate variables to produce AR. The result showed that WIN30 had significant effect and indicated regression formula (Y= 1.3323(WIN30)-14737.758) to explain 41.2% variation of AR. Stepwise method was done for multiple regression on Isokinetic variables to produce AR`s inferred possibility by extensors TW of 60˚ /sec as regression (Y= 10.6737 (TW)+2083.9403) explained 42.9% variation of AR. In the correlation between measured variables of Wingate and Isokinetic extensors there was no significance of intermediate correlation in 60˚ /sec PT and WIN5(r= .53, P> .05) and in TW and WIN5(r= .56 P< .05) statistically. Also, There was significance of intermediate correlation in PT and WIN10 (r= .65, P< .05), no significance in TW and WIN10 (r= .57, P> .05), in PT and WIN30(r= .58), and no significance in TW and WIN30(r= .46, P> .05). In the correlation between measured variables of Wingate and Isokinetic extensors, there was significance of intermediate correlation in 180˚ /sec PT and WIN10 (r= .69, P< .05) and significant correlation in Isokintic 180˚ /sec PT and WIN30(r= .65, P< .05). The data suggested that anaerobic reserve assess true anaerobic ability not including the energy component of anaerobic glycolyses. Also, the study provides preliminary data on the anaerobic abilities in university soccer players as assessed by the Critical Power test, Wingate test, and Isokinetic test.
Structural Characterization of the J-domain of Tid1, a Mitochondrial Hsp40/DnaJ Protein
Sim, Dae-Won,Jo, Ku-Sung,Ryu, Kyoung-Seok,Kim, Eun-Hee,Won, Hyung-Sik Korean Magnetic Resonance Society 2012 Journal of the Korean Magnetic Resonance Society Vol.16 No.1
Tid1, belonging to the Hsp40/DnaJ family of proteins, functions as a cochaperone of cytosolic and mitochondrial Hsp70 proteins. In particular, the N-terminal J-domain of Tid1 (Tid1-JD) constitutes the major binding sites for proteinprotein interactions with client proteins, including p53, as well as its partner chaperone, Hsp70. In the present study, soluble, recombinant protein of Tid1-JD could be obtained by using the pCold vector system, and backbone NMR assignments were completed using the isotope $[^{13}C/^{15}N]$-enriched protein. Far-UV CD result implied that Tid1-JD is an ${\alpha}$-helical protein and the secondary structure determined using chemical shift data sets indentified four ${\alpha}$-helices with a loop region containing the HPD (conserved tripeptide of His, Pro and Asp) motif. Additionally, NMR spectra under different conditions implied that the HPD motif, which is a critical region for protein-protein interactions of Tid1-JD, would possess dynamic properties.

The HP0902, a homodimeric 22.1 kDa protein, has been suggested as a putative secretory protein from Helicobacter pylori, although the protein possesses no signal peptide for secretion. Since it may be associated with the virulence of the bacterium, NMR study has been initiated in terms of structural genomics. In our previous effort to assign the backbone NMR resonances, using 800 MHz NMR machine at pH 7.8, the resonances from eight of the 99 residues could not be assined due to missing of the signals. In this work, to enhance the extent of assignments, a 900 MHz machine was employed and the sample pH was reduced down to 6.5. Finally, almost all signals, except for those from G9 and S24, could be clearly assigned. The determined secondary structure using the assined chemical shifts indicated that the HP0902 consists of 11 -strands with no helices. In our database search result, HP0902 was predicted to interact with VacA (Vacuolating cytotoxin A), which is a representative virulence factor secreted from Helicobacter pylori. Thus, molecular interaction between HP0902 and VacA would be worthy of investigation, on the basis of the present results of NMR assignments.

A simple guide to the structural study on membrane proteins in detergents using solution NMR
Sim, Dae-Won,Lee, Yoo-sup,Seo, Min-Duk,Won, Hyung-Sik,Kim, Ji-hun Korean Magnetic Resonance Society 2015 Journal of the Korean Magnetic Resonance Society Vol.19 No.3
NMR-based structural studies on membrane proteins are appreciated quite challenging due to various reasons, generally including the narrow dispersion of NMR spectra, the severe peak broadening, and the lack of long range NOEs. In spite of the poor biophysical properties, structural studies on membrane proteins have got to go on, considering their functional importance in biological systems. In this review, we provide a simple overview of the techniques generally used in structural studies of membrane proteins by solution NMR, with experimental examples of a helical membrane protein, caveolin 3. Detergent screening is usually employed as the first step and the selection of appropriate detergent is the most important for successful approach to membrane proteins. Various tools can then be applied as specialized NMR techniques in solution that include sample deteuration, amino-acid selective isotope labeling, residual dipolar coupling, and paramagnetic relaxation enhancement.

HTS tape is developed for the purpose of being applied to the power cable, motor and generator, etc. The resistance of conventional power cables is not changed a lot by over current condition. But HTS(High temperature superconductor)power cable has some different properties. The impedance of superconductor is changed due to the magnitude of current, temperature, and magnetic field. And the characteristics analysis of HTS power cable under many kind of fault conditions are important to apply real system. In addition the magnitude of over current is 10 times larger than rated current. In this paper, the characteristics of HTS power cable are analyzed when over current flows. Model cable used 2G wires was made and experimented. The results will be helpful to manufacture real HTS power cable.
SANS Studies on the Formation of PANI Nanoparticles in the Reverse Micelles
Sim, Jae-Hyun,Kim, Myung-woong,Park, Sang-wook,Bang, Jeong-Hwa,Sohn, Dae-won Korean Chemical Society 2006 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.27 No.2
The formation of polyaniline (PANI) in the reverse micelles of poly(oxyethylene) nonylphenyl ether, $(NP5, H(CH_2)_9Ph(OC_2H_4)_5OH)$, was investigated by small-angle neutron scattering (SANS). The reverse micellar solution containing initiators in the inner part of reverse micelle was prepared with surfactant (NP5), water, cyclohexane and an initiator (ammonium persulfate (APS)). The core-shell sphere model containing smearing effect reveals that the polymerization occurs on the shell layer of the reverse micelles. Shell thickness averages varied from 48 $\AA$ to 109 $\AA$ with increases of monomer concentration.
