The Regional Agricultural Cooperatives, which was formed by the members who have mostly homogeneous interest and started from Eup and Myeon unit in 1973, has made quantitative and qualitative growth in business and management volume. However, the agricultural population decreased due to rapid industrialization and urbanization. Therefore, the use of non-members is significantly increasing. Also, according to aging of agricultural population and change of rural structure, various segregation of layers such as senior members, new members, exclusive members and sleeping members are seriously progressing. This research is to observe the status and problems of Regional Agricultural Cooperatives membership in the changing environment of rural area, to find its improvement to be sustainable and specially focused on setting up criteria for members which is well suited to the reality of a rural community rather than performing detailed and concrete analysis.
반응표면분석법을 이용한 증숙 맥문동 첨가 양갱의 품질 특성 및 당류 저감화 조건 연구

본 연구에서는 증숙 맥문동을 첨가한 양갱 제조조건을 반응표면분석법을 이용하여 최적화하여 저칼로리 양갱의 개발가능성을 검토하고자 하였다. 증숙 맥문동 열수 추출물, 설탕 및 한천의 함량을 독립변수로 하여 16가지의 양갱을 제조하여 pH, 수분 함량, 당도, 색도 및 갈변도 등의 이화학적 품질 특성과 조직감, 관능평가를 수행하였다. 이화학적 품질 특성 중에서 pH 및 갈변도는 증숙 맥문동 열수 추출액, 당도 및 수분 함량은 설탕, 색도는 증숙 맥문동 열수 추출액과 설탕의 양이 품질 특성에 더 많은 영향을 나타냈으며, 조직감에 있어서 씹힘성과 검성은 분말한천의 양에 의존하는 경향을 나타내었다. 또한, 관능평가에 있어서 유의성을 나타낸 외관, 색, 단맛, 단단함, 질감 및 종합적인 기호도의 경우 증숙 맥문동 열수 추출물, 설탕이 증가할수록 기호도가 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 당류의 사용은 최소화하면서 최적의 양갱의 품질 특성 및 기호도를 나타내는 조건은 증숙 맥문동 열수 추출물이 35 mL, 설탕은 55.23 g, 분말한천은 3.39 g으로 최적 첨가량이 예측되었으며, 기본 배합비와 비교한 결과 단맛은 유의적 차이가 나타나지 않고 그 외의 모든 관능평가 항목에서 유의적으로 우수 하였다. 따라서 증숙 맥문동을 식품에 활용할 경우 다양한 저칼로리 제품의 개발에 이용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. This study was performed to optimize yanggaeng processing conditions prepared with different amounts of steamed Liriopis tuber (SLT) extract, sugar, and agar powder using response surface methodology. The experimental conditions were designed according to the central composite design with 16 experimental points, including two replicates for three independent variables. The experimental data on physicochemical properties, textural properties, and sensory evaluation were fitted to various models, and the accuracy of the equations was analyzed by ANOVA. Among the responses, pH, water content, sugar content, L-value, browning index, chewiness, gumminess, and sensory properties of appearance, color, sweetness, hardness, texture, and overall acceptability showed significant correlation with contents of SLT, sugar, and agar powder. From these results, optimum formulation of yanggaeng was calculated as follows: SLT 35 mL, sugar 55.23 g, and agar powder 3.39 g.
Investigation of the effect of pre-fill gas in VEST discharges by predictive transport simulations

The predictive modeling of the VEST (Chung et al. in Plasma Sci Technol 15(3):244, 2013) device is presented. The integrated simulation tool was organized to conduct the 1D transport simulation considering neoclassical and turbulent transport, and pre-fll gas neutrals. The 1D transport equation and a detailed setup for the predictive analysis were addressed. By varying pre-fll gas levels, a set of predictive simulations was conducted. The electron density, electron and ion temperatures from Thomson scattering, and ion Doppler spectroscopy diagnostics were compared with the predictive simulation results. The discrepancies upon comparing the measurements with the simulations and further required eforts were discussed.
High Thermoelectric Performance of a Heterogeneous PbTe Nanocomposite

<P>In this paper, we propose a heterogeneous material for bulk thermoelectrics. By varying the quenching time of Na doped PbTe, followed by hot pressing, we synthesized heterogeneous nanocomposites, a mixture of nanodot nanocomposites and nanograined nanocomposites. It is well-known that by putting excess amounts of Na (i.e., exceeding the solubility limit) into PbTe, nanodots with sizes as small as a few nanometers can be formed. Nanograined regions with an average grain size of ca. 10 nm are observed only in materials synthesized with an extremely low quenching rate, which was achieved by using a quenching media of iced salt water and cold water. Dimensionless thermoelectric figures of merit, <I>zT</I>, of those heterogeneous nanocomposites exhibited a <I>zT</I> around 2.0 at 773 K, which is a 25% increase compared to <I>zT</I> of a homogeneous nanodot nanocomposite with the largest quenching time in our experiment, i.e. furnace cooled. <P>High-throughput experimental technologies gradually shift the paradigm of biological research from hypothesis-validation toward hypothesis-generation science. Translating diverse types of large-scale experimental data into testable hypotheses, however, remains a daunting task. We previously demonstrated that heterogeneous genomics data can be integrated into a single genome-scale gene network with high prediction power for ribonucleic acid interference (RNAi) phenotypes in <I>Caenorhabditis elegans</I>, a popular metazoan model in the study of developmental biology, neurobiology and genetics. Here, we present WormNet version 3 (v3), which is a new network-assisted hypothesis-generating server for <I>C. elegans</I>. WormNet v3 includes major updates to the base gene network, which substantially improved predictions of RNAi phenotypes. The server generates various gene network-based hypotheses using three complementary network methods: (i) a phenotype-centric approach to ‘find new members for a pathway’; (ii) a gene-centric approach to ‘infer functions from network neighbors’ and (iii) a context-centric approach to ‘find context-associated hub genes’, which is a new method to identify key genes that mediate physiology within a specific context. For example, we demonstrated that the context-centric approach can be used to identify potential molecular targets of toxic chemicals.
