      • Protoplast-fusion에 의한 澱粉에서 Ethanol의 單段 醱酵能 酵母 開發 : Ⅲ. Saccharomyces diastaticus로 부터 分離한 petite 變異株의 特性과 原形質體 融合

        Respiratory deficient mutant (petite) colonies of low sporulating Saccharomyces diastaticus were obtained after treatment with ethidium bromide (10㎍/ml) for a suitable fusant selection marker. The tetrazolium assay and the rate of oxygen uptake showed the respiratory deficiency of the isolated colonies. These colonies showed division slower rate than the parental cells, and not grow on nonfermentable carbon source such as glycerol that the parental cells readily utilize for growing. No revertant colonies were found on the minimal medium containing glycerol (MMG plate) The results obtained for ethanol productivity of glucose showed that the obtained petite mutants were similar to the parental strain. But the ability to assimilate and ferment starch were reduced by the induction of the petite mutants. These results sugges ted that thauptake and the utilization of starch should be affected by the mitiochondrial genome damaged by exposure to ethidium bromide. Protoplast formation, protoplast stability, and regeneration rate showed no difference between the parental strain and the petite strain. Thus using the characteristics of the petite strains as a marker for protoplast fusion, interspecific protoplast fusion between respiratory competent auxotrophic mutant strain of Sacch cerevisiae and repiratory deficient Strains of Sacch. diastaticvs were conducted. The respiratory competent starch fermenting fusion products could be selected on the minimal medium containing starch with low frequency. These were thought to be possible by mitochondrial transfer and recombination through protoplast fusion.

      • 黑麴菌에 依한 고구마粕 구녹산 醱酵에 關한 硏究

        The 229 strains of black Aspergillus sp producing citric acid were isolated from soil. Among them, the strains KTR-81 and KTR-91 were found to be superior for citric acid production. Their basic cultural conditions as well as high citric acid producible conditions from the liquefied sweet potato cake which is a byproduct obtained from waste material in the production of sweet potato starch, were investigated, and the results obtained are as follows 1. Those two strains produced citric acid to maximum 63.0-63.5% from glucose when the liquefied sweet potato cake media had 16% in its total sugar concentration. The nutritional conditions added to the media were 0.15%, 0.06% and 0.03% of urea, mixture of equal amount of KH_(2)PO_(4) and K_(2)HPO_(4), and MgSO_(4) 7H_(2)O, respectively. Some hindrances were likely to be appeared in the production of citric acid by the change of the added amount of the nutrients as shown above. 2. Since the oxalic acid-forming activities are relatively dull, those two strains may be available for the citric acid fermentation industry.

      • Candida tropicalis IFO-0589로 부터 구연산 生成 變異株 誘導

        The strain Candida tropicalis IFO-0589 was treated with N-methyl-N’-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine in order to obtain the most potent citrate-producing mutants. Three mutants 601, 1202 and 1205 were induced and found to be superior and inferior in citrate and d-isocitrate producibilities, respectively, to other strains. When those mutants and parent were cultured in a basal medium containing 10% glucose at 3O℃ for 168 hrs. using a reciprocatory shaker (50mm stroke amplitude), mutant 601 and 1202 were superior to other strains in citrate and cell producibilities, respectively and mutant 1205 was inferior to other strains in d-isocitrate producibility. There was little difference in morphology between those mutants and parent.

      • 河川形態學的 特性因子와 河天從斷과의 相關性

        The writer has chosen 9 rivulets of MIHO stream basin and computed the theoretical profile morphology of a rivulets by correlation some morphological characteristic factors which is calculated by Horton's Law to the expression of theoretical profile (Zm=e (c+E) ??-(D+F)u, Xm=e?? ?? e-DU) and to the expression of equilibrium profile (Zm=ne(C+E)). After that the writer compared the theoretical profile morphology with the actual profile morphology of a rivulet. The result was as follows: In the same stream system BAEG-COG rivulet and CHEON-SU rivulet revealed close to 1 of e D+F value, and Mu-shim rivulet and BO-GANG rivulet revealed over 1 of eD+F value, which means the formers are in the state of adolescence and the latters are in the state of Senescence. Here, we could see that the geological developing process in the same stream system differs from each rivulet.

        This study aim at the development of the model of probability rainfall for return period by using frequency analysis. In this study, models of frequency analysis are classified to for lowing models : Two-Parameter lognormal distribution, Three-Parameter lognormal distribution, Pearson Type III distribution, Log-Pearson Type III distribution, Extremal Type I distribution. From the comparison of these models with rainfall data, it is found that Extremal Type I distribution is maximum value and Log-Pearson Type IIIf distribution is minimum value.

        A Brief Review on Relaxor Ferroelectrics and Selected Issues in Lead-Free Relaxors

        Relaxor ferroelectricity is one of the most widely investigated but the least understood material classes in the condensed matter physics. This is largely due to the lack of experimental tools that decisively confirm the existing theoretical models. In spite of the diversity in the models, they share the core idea that the observed features in relaxors are closely related to localized chemical heterogeneity. Given this, this review attempts to overview the existing models of importance chronologically, from the diffuse phase transition model to the random-field model and to show how the core idea has been reflected in them to better shape our insight into the nature of relaxor-related phenomena. Then, the discussion will be directed to how the models of a common consensus, developed with the so-called canonical relaxors such as Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 (PMN) and (Pb, La)(Zr, Ti)O3 (PLZT), are compatible with phenomenological explanations for the recently identified relaxors such as (Bi1/2Na1/2)TiO3 (BNT)-based lead-free ferroelectrics. This review will be finalized with a discussion on the theoretical aspects of recently introduced 0−3 and 2−2 ferroelectric/relaxor composites as a practical tool for strain engineering.

        Glacier Change in the Yigong Zangbo Basin, Tibetan Plateau, China

        Distinguishing debris-covered glaciers from debris-free glaciers is difficult when using only optical remote sensing images to extract glacier boundaries.According to the features that the surface temperature of debris-covered glacier is lower than surrounding objects, and higher than clean glaciers, glacial changes in the Yigong Zangbo basin was analyzed on the basis of visible, near-infrared and thermal-infrared band images of Landsat TM and OLI/TIRS in the support of ancillary digital elevation model (DEM). The results indicated that glacier area gradually declined from $928.76km^2$ in 1990 to $918.46km^2$ in 2000 and $901.51km^2$ in 2015. However, debris-covered glacier area showed a slight increase from $63.39km^2$ in 1990 to $66.24km^2$ in 2000 and $71.16km^2$ in 2015. During 25 years, the glacier length became shorter continuously with terminus elevation rising up. The area of moraine lakes in 1990 was $1.43km^2$, which increased to $1.98km^2$ in 2000 and $3.41km^2$ in 2015. In other words, the total area of the moraine lakes in 2015 is 2.38 times of that in 1990. This increase in moraine lake area could be the result of accelerated glacier melt and retreat, which is consistent with the significant warming trend in recent decades in the basin.
