We first introduce the quasi-score estimating function and applied the quasi-score estimating function to nonlinear time series models. We proposed the M quasi-score estimating functions bounded functions for the quasi-score estimating functions. Also, we investigated the asymptotic properties of quasi-likelihood estimators and M quasi-likelihood estimators. Simulation results show that the M quasi-likelihood estimators work better than the least squares estimators under the heavy-tailed distributions

Energy demand management is a way to achieve energy conservation by improving the energy use efficiency of consumers or by changing energy consumption behavior. In spite of the governments mid-to-long-term plan and various financial support and regulatory policies, Koreas energy consumption is steadily increasing and efficiency improvement is insufficient. In this study, energy efficiency was assessed by quantitative analysis methods in the industrial sector, which accounts for a large portion of energy consumption, in order to analyze the operation status of energy demand management in Korea. From the study, it was found that despite the governments efforts, the energy efficiency of the industrial sector has not improved. This was due to the increase in consumption by more energy intensity companies with an annual energy consumption of 2,000 TOE or more, and some high-energy intensity industries such as steel and petrochemicals. And the result of factor analysis shows that the improvement effect of energy intensity in more energy efficiency industries is insufficient. Besides, by company size, small and medium-sized enterprises are showing improvement in energy efficiency, but it was found that large-sized enterprises are not effective.

Multicentric Castleman's disease (CD) is a rare atypical lymphoproliferative disorder, which is characterized by various systemic manifestations. Some patients with multicentric CD may have concomitant lung parenchymal lesions, for which lymphoid interstitial pneumonia (LIP) is known to be the most common pathologic finding. Follicular bronchiolitis and LIP are considered to be on the same spectrum of the disease. We describe a case of multicentric CD with pulmonary involvement, which was pathologically proven as follicular bronchiolitis.

<P>Although pneumonia is associated with an increased risk of venous thromboembolism, patients with pulmonary embolism and concomitant pneumonia are uncommon. The aim of the present study was to investigate the clinical features of pulmonary embolism with coexisting pneumonia. We retrospectively compared clinical, radiologic and laboratory parameters between patients with pulmonary embolism and concomitant pneumonia (pneumonia group) and those with unprovoked pulmonary embolism (unprovoked group), and then between the pneumonia group and those with pulmonary infarction (infarction group). Of 794 patients with pulmonary embolism, 36 (5%) had coexisting pneumonia and six (1%) had no provoking factor other than pneumonia. Stroke was significantly more common in the pneumonia group, than either the unprovoked group or the infarction group. In the pneumonia group, fever was significantly more common and serum C-reactive protein levels were significantly higher. By contrast, central pulmonary embolism and right ventricular dilation on computed tomography were significantly less frequent in the pneumonia group. In addition, an adverse outcome due to pulmonary embolism was less common in the pneumonia group than in either of the other two groups. The coexistence of pulmonary embolism and pneumonia is rarely encountered in clinical practice, especially without the presence of other factors that could provoke venous thromboembolism and is commonly associated with stroke. It is characterized by lower incidences of central pulmonary embolism and right ventricular dilation and by a lower rate of adverse outcomes due to pulmonary embolism itself.</P>

<P>The aims of this study were to summarize results on the association of HLA-DRB1 with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Asians and to determine if the shared epitope (SE) hypothesis could explain the meta-analysis results. Among the papers published between January 1987 and July 2006 on RA susceptibility in Asian-Mongoloid populations (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Thai), 12 were selected for the meta-analysis. Mongoloid-Asian patients with RA had significantly higher frequencies of HLA-DRB1*0101, *0401, *0410, and *1001 than controls (OR 1.5-2.1, <I>p</I><0.05 for association). When analyses were restricted to more ethnically homogeneous populations, HLA-DRB1*0405 showed a significant susceptibility to RA in Koreans (OR 5.65, 95% CI 4.32-7.39), whereas the HLA-DRB1*0301, *0403, *0406, *0701, *1301, and *1405 alleles showed protective association with RA (OR 0.32-0.70, <I>p</I><0.05 for association). In conclusion, it was found that HLA-DRB1 *0101, *0401, *0405, *0410, and *1001 are susceptible, while HLA-DRB1*0301, *0403, *0406, *0701, *1301, and *1405 are protective in Asian-Mongoloids. All the RA-associated alleles except DRB1*0301 could be explained by the structural model supporting the SE hypothesis that RA susceptibility is determined by the combination of amino acid residues at HLA-DR β71 and β74, not by β71 alone.</P>
데이터마이닝을 이용한 국민연금 부정수급 예측모형 개발 - 손해배상금 불성실 신고를 대상으로 -

최근 사회복지분야에서 부정수급, 횡령 등이 빈번히 발생함에 따라 비리를 방지하기 위한 체계적인 관리 방안이 요구되고 있다. 데이터마이닝은 다수의 이해관계자와 많은 예산이 투입되는 사업을 관리하는데 효과적인 방법이다. 본 연구는 국민연금의 부정 수급자 관리방안으로 데이터마이닝을 이용한 예측모형을 개발하였다. 분석결과, 수급자의 급여, 연금 가입, 사고내역 정보가 부정수급의 특성 요인으로 나타났으며 이를 의사결정나무 모형, 로지스틱 회귀모형, 인공신경망 모형에 적용한 결과 의사결정나무 모형의 예측력이 가장 우수한 것으로 분석되었다. This study tested the applicability of a Data mining tool in the analysis of massive National Pension data for the purpose of developing fraud pension payment prediction model. This study is identified significant variables for fraud pension payment through the statistical analysis process and developed prediction models using data mining methodology.
