For over 100 years, the nurse was considered to be a subservient handmaiden who merely met the physical needs of the sick. Not until the Civil War was the importance of formal education acknowledged. Over the past 10-20 years, care has been lost from nursing while technology has soared .. Every day research reveals new and better ways to solve existing problems as well as the identification of new problems. Perhaps one of the fastest growing areas of new information discovery is in the field of health care. while all this technology may improve or prolong life, the nurse is left feeling overwhelmed and the patient feeling less than human. There must be a balance between the art (caring) and the science (critical thinking) of nursing. The equation to meet this balance is constantly being challenged. A common comment from all nurse educators is, "There is just not enough time to teach everything these students needs to know". Nurse educators must rethink the way nursing students are being educated. No longer can the instructor tell the student everything they need to know to be successful. Nurse educators must teach students how to think critically. Students must be taught basic concepts and then be taught to apply these basic concepts in varying situations. In tum the student becomes responsible for his/her own learning and begins to build upon the concepts of critical thinking.

<P>We present a search for lepton-flavor-violating tau decays into three leptons (electrons or muons) using 782 fb(-1) of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. Precise measurement of hadronic <i>τ</i>-decays with an <i>η</i> meson

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We have studied hadronic <I>τ</I> decay modes involving an <I>η</I> meson using 490 fb<SUP>−1</SUP> of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy <SUP>e+</SUP><SUP>e−</SUP> collider. The following branching fractions have been measured: B(<SUP>τ−</SUP>→<SUP>K−</SUP>η<SUB>ντ</SUB>)=(1.58±0.05±0.09)×<SUP>10−4</SUP>, B(<SUP>τ−</SUP>→<SUP>K−</SUP><SUP>π0</SUP>η<SUB>ντ</SUB>)=(4.6±1.1±0.4)×<SUP>10−5</SUP>, B(<SUP>τ−</SUP>→<SUP>π−</SUP><SUP>π0</SUP>η<SUB>ντ</SUB>)=(1.35±0.03±0.07)×<SUP>10−3</SUP>, B(<SUP>τ−</SUP>→<SUP>π−</SUP>KS0η<SUB>ντ</SUB>)=(4.4±0.7±0.2)×<SUP>10−5</SUP>, and B(<SUP>τ−</SUP>→<SUP>K∗−</SUP>η<SUB>ντ</SUB>)=(1.34±0.12±0.09)×<SUP>10−4</SUP>. These results are substantially more precise than previous measurements. The new measurements are compared with theoretical calculations based on the CVC hypothesis or the chiral perturbation theory. We also set upper limits on branching fractions for <I>τ</I> decays into <SUP>K−</SUP>KS0η<SUB>ντ</SUB>, <SUP>π−</SUP>KS0<SUP>π0</SUP>η<SUB>ντ</SUB>, <SUP>K−</SUP>ηη<SUB>ντ</SUB>, <SUP>π−</SUP>ηη<SUB>ντ</SUB> and non-resonant <SUP>K−</SUP><SUP>π0</SUP>η<SUB>ντ</SUB> final states.</P>
Study of Ωc0 and Ωc∗0 baryons at Belle

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We report results from a study of the charmed double strange baryons Ωc0 and Ωc∗0 at Belle. The Ωc0 is reconstructed using the Ωc0→<SUP>Ω−</SUP><SUP>π+</SUP> decay mode, and its mass is measured to be (2693.6±0.3−1.5+1.8) MeV/<SUP>c2</SUP>. The Ωc∗0 baryon is reconstructed in the Ωc0γ mode. The mass difference <SUB>MΩc∗0</SUB>−<SUB>MΩc0</SUB> is measured to be (70.7±0.9−0.9+0.1) MeV/<SUP>c2</SUP>. The analysis is performed using 673 fb<SUP>−1</SUP> of data on and near the ϒ(4S) collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy <SUP>e+</SUP><SUP>e−</SUP> collider.</P>
Search for lepton flavor violating τ decays into three leptons

We search for lepton flavor violating τ decays into three leptons (electron or muon) using 535 fb<SUP>-1</SUP> of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e<SUP>+</SUP>e<SUP>-</SUP> collider. No evidence for these decays is observed, and we set 90% confidence level upper limits on the branching fractions of (2.0-4.1)x10<SUP>-8</SUP>. These results improve upon our previously published upper limits by factors of 4.9 to 10.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We present a search for the decays <SUP>B+</SUP>→<SUP>μ+</SUP><SUB>νμ</SUB> and <SUP>B+</SUP>→<SUP>e+</SUP><SUB>νe</SUB> in a 253 fb<SUP>−1</SUP> data sample collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy <I>B</I> factory. We find no significant evidence for a signal and set 90% confidence level upper limits of B(<SUP>B+</SUP>→<SUP>μ+</SUP><SUB>νμ</SUB>)<1.7×<SUP>10−6</SUP> and B(<SUP>B+</SUP>→<SUP>e+</SUP><SUB>νe</SUB>)<9.8×<SUP>10−7</SUP>.</P>

<P>Using 605 fb(-1) of data collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance we present a measurement of the inclusive radiative B-meson decay channel, B-->X(s)gamma. For the lower photon energy thresholds of 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, and 2.0 GeV, as defined in the rest frame of the B meson, we measure the partial branching fraction and the mean and variance of the photon energy spectrum. At the 1.7 GeV threshold we obtain the partial branching fraction BF(B-->X(s)}gamma)=(3.45+/-0.15+/-0.40)x10(-4), where the errors are statistical and systematic.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We search for lepton flavor and lepton number violating <I>τ</I> decays into a lepton (ℓ=electron or muon) and two charged mesons (h,<SUP>h′</SUP>=<SUP>π±</SUP> or <SUP>K±</SUP>), <SUP>τ−</SUP>→<SUP>ℓ−</SUP><SUP>h+</SUP><SUP>h′−</SUP> and <SUP>τ−</SUP>→<SUP>ℓ+</SUP><SUP>h−</SUP><SUP>h′−</SUP>, using 671 fb<SUP>−1</SUP> of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy <SUP>e+</SUP><SUP>e−</SUP> collider. We obtain 90% C.L. upper limits on the branching fractions in the range (4.4–8.8)×<SUP>10−8</SUP> for τ→eh<SUP>h′</SUP>, and (3.3–16)×<SUP>10−8</SUP> for τ→μh<SUP>h′</SUP> processes. These results improve upon previously published upper limits by factors between 1.6 to 8.8.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We search for lepton-flavor-violating <I>τ</I> decays into a lepton (electron or muon) and an <SUB>f0</SUB>(980) meson using 671 fb<SUP>−1</SUP> of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy <SUP>e+</SUP><SUP>e−</SUP> collider. No events are observed and we set the following 90% C.L. upper limits on the branching fraction products: B(<SUP>τ−</SUP>→<SUP>e−</SUP><SUB>f0</SUB>(980))×B(<SUB>f0</SUB>(980)→<SUP>π+</SUP><SUP>π−</SUP>)<3.2×<SUP>10−8</SUP> and B(<SUP>τ−</SUP>→<SUP>μ−</SUP><SUB>f0</SUB>(980))×B(<SUB>f0</SUB>(980)→<SUP>π+</SUP><SUP>π−</SUP>)<3.4×<SUP>10−8</SUP>. This is the first search performed for these modes.</P>
