        Analysis of methylation-sensitive amplified polymorphism in different cotton accessions under salt stress based on capillary electrophoresis

        A methylation-sensitive amplification polymorphism method based on capillary electrophoresis was used to analyze DNA methylation levels in three cotton accessions, two salt-tolerant accessions CCRI 35 and Zhong 07 and one salt-sensitive accession CCRI 12. Many categories of DNA methylation happened in the three cotton accessions under salt treatment, including hypermethylation, hypomethylation, and other patterns. Hypermethylation happened at a significantly higher rate than that of hypomethylation in salt-tolerant accessions CCRI 35 and Zhong 07. On the contrary, in salt-sensitive accession CCRI 12, hypomethylation happened at a significantly higher rate than that of hypermethylation. In general, the global DNA methylation level significantly increased under salt stress in both salt-tolerant accessions CCRI 35 and Zhong 07, whereas there was no significant difference in the salt-sensitive accessions CCRI 12. Our results suggested that salt-tolerant cotton might have a mechanism of increasing the methylation level when responding to salt stress; the increase of the global level of DNA methylation and also different methylation patterns might play important roles in tolerance to salt stress in cotton. Some interesting genes were found through cloning and analysis of differently methylated DNA sequences, which might contribute to salt tolerance in cotton.

        SIMULATION OF CITY BUS PERFORMANCE BASED ON ACTUAL URBAN DRIVING CYCLE IN CHINA

        This paper establishes the simulation model of a city bus on the basis of the EQ6110 bus prototype and its experimental data. According to the actual urban driving cycle, the fuel economy and the traction performance of the EQ6110 city bus have been simulated, and factors such as the driving cycle, the loss of power to engine accessories, the gear-shifting strategy, the fuel shut-off strategy of the engine, etc., which influence on the bus’s fuel economy, are also quantitatively analyzed. Some conclusions are drawn as follows: (1) driving cycles have a great influence on the fuel economy of a city bus; (2) under the typical urban driving cycle of the public bus in China, the engine fuel shut-off strategy can save about 1 to 1.5 percent of the fuel consumption; and (3) the optimized gear-shifting rules can save 6.7 percent of the fuel consumption. Experimental results verify that the fuel economy for the EQ6110 public bus is improved by 7.2 pecent over the actual Wuhan urban driving cycle of the current public bus in China.         What Frequency of Ankle Pump Exercise is Optimal to Improve Lower Limb Hemodynamics? A Systematic Review and Network Meta-analysis

        Purpose: Ankle pump exercises (APE) have been widely used in clinical practice. However, best practices for APE have not been established. Recognize the most effective frequency of APE for improving lower extremity hemodynamics and establish recommendations in clinical practice. Methods: Therefore, a systematic review and network meta-analysis (NMA) was performed according to PRISMA-NMA. Six English databases (Pubmed, Medline, CINAHL, Embase, the Cochrane library and ProQuest) and four Chinese databases (CNKI, Wanfang, VIP and Sinomed) were searched. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and quasi-experimental studies investigating the effects of different frequencies of APE on lower limb hemodynamics published before July 2022 were included. The reference list was also searched. Seven studies (one RCTs and six quasi-experimental studies) were included in the systematic review and five studies (one RCTs and four quasi-experimental studies) were included in the NMA. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane and Joanna Briggs Institute tools. The NMA was performed using the R software (version 4.2.1) and OpenBUGS (version 3.2.3). Results: The results of the NMA showed that a frequency of every 3e4 s the most effective in improving lower extremity hemodynamics (P ¼.85), followed by every 1e2 s (P ¼ .81), every 5e6 s (P¼.32) and less than every 10 s (P ¼.02). Subgroup analysis failed to find a difference between healthy participants and those with unilateral total hip arthroplasty or fracture (MD ¼ À0.23, 95% CI-5.92 to 4.61). Conclusions: Consequencely, for adult patients, with or without lower extremity disease, a frequency of every 3e4 s can be recommended as the optimal frequency of APE in clinical care practice.

      • A Study on the Approach of the Structured Light Three-dimensional Measurement

        In order to establish the 3D Temperature Field based on structure light 3D measurement and cross-correlation registration. Infrared/Visible camera calibration method and heterologous images registration method were studied. First, according to infrared camera’s characteristics, the selection of calibration templates have been studied and the calibration of the infrared camera has been accomplished on the basis of planar calibration method; then, we simplified the two-step method based on the mature principle of structure light measurement; and the visible camera was calibrated; finally, use calibrated visible cameras to form structured light measurement system, and register the infrared image and visible image in the geometrical position. Experimental results show that: the relative error of measurement system is less than 0.3%;infrared and visible image’s alignment error in geometrical position is 0.0015 mm. and measurement systems have good reconstruction results for plane and curved ,and cross-correlation method has a good effect for heterrologous images registration.

        Diversity in life history of queen and worker honey bees, Apis mellifera L.

        Queen and worker European honey bees (Apis mellifera L.) have similar growth trends but differ greatly in their morphology, physiology, function and developmental timeline. Here, the life history of queen and worker bees was characterized, and reference pictures are provided. The developmental rate of workers was found to differ as much as 3 days, even if the two types of bees were laid within 12 h of each other. We also present some interesting phenomena with regards to the developmental stages of queen and worker bees.

        Evolution of plant Ash1 SET genes: structural divergence and functional differentiation

        Plant Ash1 SET proteins are involved in H3K36methylation, and play a key role in plant reproductive development. Genes encoding Ash1 SET proteins constitute a multigene family in which the copy number varies among plant species and functional divergence appears to have occurred repeatedly. To investigate the evolutionary history and functional differentiation of the Ash1 SET gene family,we made a comprehensive evolutionary analysis of this gene family from eleven major representatives of green plants. A novel deep sister relationship grouping previously resolved II-1 and II-2 orthologous groups was identified. The absence of AWS domain in the group II-2 suggests that the independent losses of AWS domain have occurred during evolution. A diversity of gene structures in plant Ash1 SET gene family have been presented since the divergence of Physcomitrella patens (moss) from the other land plants. A small proportion of codons in SET domain regions were detected to be under positive selection along the branches ancestral to land plant and angiosperms, which may have allowed changes of substrate specificity among different evolutionary groups while maintaining the primary function of SET domains. Our predictive subcellular localization and comparative anatomical meta-expression analyses can assort with the structural divergences of Ash1SET proteins.

        LINC00943 knockdown exerts neuroprotective effects in Parkinson’s disease through regulates CXCL12 expression by sponging miR-7-5p

        Background Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative movement disorder, but the pathogenesis is still unclear. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been reported to play a prominent role in PD. Objective This study is designed to explore the role and mechanism of long intergenic non-coding RNA 00943 (LINC00943) in the N-methyl-4-phenylpyridine (MPP+)-inducted PD model. Methods LINC00943, microRNA-7-5p (miR-7-5p), and the chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 12 (CXCL12, also referred to as SDF-1) level were examined by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Cell viability and apoptosis were analyzed by 3-(4, 5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2, 5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT), and fow cytometry assays, severally. Protein levels of interleukin-1β (IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and CXCL12 were assessed by western blot assay. The ROS generation and SOD activity were detected by the corresponding kits. The binding relationship between miR-7-5p and LINC00943 or CXCL12 was predicted by Starbase and then verifed by a dual-luciferase reporter and RNA Immunoprecipitation (RIP) assays. Results LINC00943 and CXCL12 were increased, and miR-7-5p was decreased in MPP+-inducted SK-N-SH cells. LINC00943 silencing promoted cell viability, and repressed apoptosis and the infammatory response in MPP+-treated SK-N-SH cells. The mechanical analysis discovered that LINC00943 acted as a sponge of miR-7-5p to regulate CXCL12 expression. Conclusions LINC00943 knockdown could attenuate MPP+-triggered neuron injury by regulating the miR-7-5p/CXCL12 axis, hinting at a promising therapeutic target for PD treatment.

        Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibrium for methanol+benzene+1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate

        Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for {methanol (1)+benzene (2)+1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (3)} where 3 is an ionic liquid ([OMIM]+[BF4]−) at atmospheric pressure (101.32 kPa) were measured with a modified Othmer still. The results showed that the ionic liquid studied can transfer the azeotropic point and eliminate the azeotropic phenomena when its concentration is up to x3=0.30. This means that [OMIM]+[BF4]− can be used as a promising entrainer in the application of extractive distillation. The measured ternary data were correlated using the NRTL model.

        A Novel Space Vector modulation Scheme and Direct Torque Control for Four-switch BLDCM Using Flux Observer

        The main purpose of this paper is to describe a DTC (direct torque control) method for four-switch brushless dc motor (BLDCM) drive. In the method, a novel voltage space vector modulation scheme, an optimal switching table, and a flux observation method are proposed. Eight voltage vectors are summarized, which are selected to control BLDCM in SVPWM pattern, and an optimal switching table is proposed to improve the torque distortion caused by midpoint current of the split capacitors. Unlike conventional flux observers, this observer does not require speed adaptation and is not susceptible to speed estimation errors, especially, at low speed. Global asymptotic stability of the flux observer is guaranteed by the Lyapunov stability analysis. DC-offset effects are mitigated by introducing a PI component in the observer gains. This method alleviates the undesired current and torque distortion which is caused by uncontrollable phase. The correctness and feasibility of the method are proved by simulation and experimental results.
