        Theoretical Study of Some Spectral Properties of Laser Dye Using Density Function Theory

        The various properties of the ground and excited electronic states of 4-{[(1,3, 4 - thiadiazol-2-yl- 5-amine) sulfanyl]methyl}- benzo[h] chromen -2(H)-one (THASMEBCH) were theoretically simulated utilizing density functional theory (DFT) and B3LYP in a 6-31 G (d,p) basis set. Bond lengths and angles were determined using DFT methods. Electronic properties, such as electronic energy, ionization potential, absolute softness, electrophilic index, electron affinity, absolute chemical hardness, and molecular electrostatic potential were studied. UV-visible, Raman, and IR spectra were evaluated by theoretical quantum computations. 1H and 13C Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) were reduced by GIAO method. On the basis of CIS, ZINDO, and TD-DFT theories, the Mullikan atomic charge was described for optimization.

        Bioactive Properties of Novel Probiotic Lactococcus lactis Fermented Camel Sausages: Cytotoxicity, Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibition, Antioxidant Capacity, and Antidiabetic Activity

        Fermented products, including sausages, provide several health benefits, particularly when probiotics are used in the fermentation process. This study aimed to examine the cytotoxicity (against Caco-2 and MCF-7 cell lines), antihypertensive activity via angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibition, antioxidant capacity, antidiabetic activity via ⍺-amylase and ⍺-glucosidase inhibition, proteolysis rate, and oxidative degradation of fermented camel and beef sausages in vitro by the novel probiotic Lactococcus lactis KX881782 isolated from camel milk. Moreover, camel and beef sausages fermented with commercial starter culture alone were compared to those fermented with commercial starter culture combined with L. lactis. The degree of hydrolysis, antioxidant capacity, cytotoxicity against Caco-2 and MCF-7, ⍺-amylase, ⍺- glucosidase, and ACE inhibitory activities were higher (p<0.05) in fermented camel sausages than beef sausages. In contrast, the water and lipid peroxidation activity were lower (p<0.05) in camel sausages than beef sausages. L. lactis enhanced the health benefits of the fermented camel sausages. These results suggest that camel sausage fermented with the novel probiotic L. lactis KX881782 could be a promising functional food that relatively provides several health benefits to consumers compared with fermented beef sausage.

        The Impact of Language on Customer Intentions to Use Localized E-Commerce Websites in Arabic Countries: The Mediating Role of Perceived Risk and Trust

        Localization of e-commerce websites is a useful tool for providing the world with business organizations and money-making enterprises. However, studies on e-Commerce website localization within the language domain are still quite limited. Thus, the study aims to investigate the relationship between the Arabic language and a wide range of e-Commerce website intentions, clarifying the indirect effects of the Arabic language on intentions to use e-Commerce websites using perceived risk and trust as mediating variables, and determining whether trust and perceived risk work as mediating variables between the Arabic language and e-Commerce website intentions. Survey data collated from participants totaling up to 264 has been used to test the research framework. The selection of these participants is based on their experiences employing e-Commerce websites. Structural equation modeling (SEM) through partial least square (PLS) software was used for the data analysis. The results show that the Arabic language, trust, and perceived risk play effective roles for e-Commerce websites adoption. More importantly, trust and perceived risk positively mediate the relationship between the Arabic language and intentions to use e-Commerce websites. Implications of the study’s findings and suggestions for further research are discussed.

        Jamming Resilient Multi-Channel Transmission for Cognitive Radio IoT-based Medical Networks

        The era of the Internet-of-things (IoT) comes withtremendous burdens on pre-existing network infrastructures andprotocols due to spectrum scarcity and reliability concerns. Cognitive radio (CR) technology is proposed for IoT applica-tions to alleviate the spectrum scarcity paradigm. In CR-IoT-based networks, the IoT devices/nodes share the spectrum withprimary users (PUs). However, in order not to interfere with PUscommunications and to conform with the elevating throughputrequirements, efficient multi-radio/multi-channel assignment al-gorithms are required. Additionally, in order to ensure reliabletransmission, algorithms need to be resilient to jamming attacks,which have detrimental impacts on network performance. In thispaper, parallel-channel security-aware medium access control(PCS-MAC) is proposed as a probabilistic-based jamming re-silient multi-channel assignment algorithm proposed for medicalnetworks. PCS-MAC considers primary user activity, channelconditions, jamming attack levels, and data-rate requirementsto provide spectrally efficient data transmission between CR-IoT nodes subject to delay constraints under jamming attacks toassure the delivery of time-critical patient data. The performanceof PCS-MAC is practically validated using the open large-scalefuture Internet-of-things (FIT) IoT-LAB testbed. Practical resultsshow that our proposed algorithm significantly enhances networkperformance, yielding throughput rates that supersedes the state-of-the-art algorithms presented in literature.

        Optimization of the Multi-Level Spring Restrainer for Bridges by Hybrid Particle Swarm and Gravitational Search Algorithm

        This paper proposes a new multi-level spring restrainer (MLSR) that exhibits multi stiffness performance in different levels of movement of bridge superstructure to prevent unseating during applied dynamic loads. The analytical model of the proposed MLSR was formulated and the fabricated prototype was tested using dynamic actuator. Based on the developed analytical mode, the function of MLSR device relied on 12 parameters that further complicated the design process to achieve the best performance. However, the conventional optimization techniques utilized only one or a few factors for simple systems. Therefore, a multi-objective optimization method is proposed in this study by introducing the hybridization of Particle Swarm Optimization and Gravitational Search algorithm (PSOGSA) to optimize the restrainer parameters, as well as to improve the seismic performance of bridges using the optimum design. The optimized MLSR was implemented in the bridge subjected to multi-directional ground motion and its multi-level action to prevent unseating of bridge deck when the applied excitation was evaluated. The optimization process revealed girder displacement in three directions and the number of plastic hinges decreased from 44 to 99% for the optimized design. The time history analysis disclosed that the use of optimized MLSR device decreased the structural seismic response, such as the 3D deck movements, from 79 to 90%. Next, the base shear and drift ratio of bridge bent reduced to 75 and 85% in longitudinal direction and to 72 and 90% in transverse direction, correspondingly. The outcomes signify that the proposed MLSR device and the optimization algorithm have successfully improved the bridge structure resistance against severe ground motions.
